Rating: Summary: It wasn't hard to fall in love with Kieran Holt. Review: This was a beautiful and tender love story between a werewolf and a wolf researcher. Unlike other werewolf novels currently on the market, Prince of Shadows plays down the gorier and darker aspects of such supernatural creatures and surprises us with a very human hero who just happens to have certain special abilities. The love story and the supernatural subplot complemented eachother well. My only real dissatisfaction was with the cover; a beefcake depiction of Kieran posing with his shirt shrugged off, looking for all the world like a chippendale thug. I was embarrassed to be seen with it. Krinard lived up to my expectations created from her first werewolf novel, Prince of Wolves -- I wonder if she plans on making this a trilogy? I think her fans would love to explore the hidden village of Valle Cache a bit further.
Rating: Summary: Very good Review: This was a great book. I have always been fascinated by wolves and this book was everything I was hoping it would be when I bought it. I really like the romances that have the sexual tension, love, caring, and not every page dedicated to sex scenes. There was a good story line to this - good development of the characters where you found out a lot about them and understood and could feel what they were feeling. Krinard's descriptions made you see things very clearly in your mind. You found yourself compelled to keep reading to see what would happen. I have since picked up her other two books - Prince of Wolves and Touch of a Wolf and can't wait to start reading them. Unfortunately, the guy on the cover of Prince of Dreams has put me off from buying the book, but if the two other Krinard's books are as fantastic as Prince of Shadows, I will buy it eventually. Prince of Shadows is a wonderful book and one that shouldn't be missed. Susan Krinard has definitely earned herself another devoted fan.
Rating: Summary: boring Review: Well I was really excited about this book. The cover is wonderful and the back made it sound exciting. It wasn't. It took me days to get through this book. I had to force myself to finish it. I was very disapointed in this story. The characters were glossed over. There was no real passion between the main characters. It wasn't very exciting and the ending just kinda left you hanging. I was hoping it would get better and it just didn't. Hopefully her other books will thrill me.
