Summary: Pleasant but not WOW
Review: Carly Simon's second installment in the 'Sinful' series takes over with the second Luck sister. Catherine's family is colorful at best and scandalous at worst. There were mob ties with her Aunt's husband, a prostitution business she and her sister inherited (under the guise of a charm school), and to top it off, her father left their mother at an early age.

Logan Montgomery is from one of the town's oldest and wealthiest families. The matriarch is Emma Montgomery, his grandmother. Emma wants to see her two grandchildren (Lance and his sister, Grace) married with kids. (Ms. Phillip's likes to have older women cause havoc on the younger generations in her books.) Logan is a Public Defender who has chosen not to live off the familial money. His father is called "The Judge" and is overbearing. He wants his son to follow into the family role of lawyer then mayor. However, Logan doesn't want this for himself.

His gran, Emma, comes tries to convince him that he needs to ruin his reputation...fast! During her annual garden gala, she points out Catherine Luck, the caterer. He doesn't go along with her plan but is intrigued with Catherine. They become involved and there is a little drama thrown in the mix but mostly this is a story about their evolvement as a couple.

I was a little disappointed by the lack of build up. With that said, it was well written and the character's were likeable. I wish there were more obstacles for them to overcome and more shenanigans from Emma.

Summary: Steamy book about two people from different worlds
Review: Caterer Catherine Luck has had to overcome a scandalous past that she, somehow, can't seem to get away from. Logan Montgomery wants to escape the life his father wants for him, and his meddling grandmother somehow sees Catherine as Logan's way out.

During a party, Logan and Catherine are instantly attracted to each other, but Catherine keeps in mind that she is here to serve people like Logan. Logan's grandma, however, works it out by locking them together and when they finally are able to get out, it is raining infernally and Catherine must stay at Logan's house.

Little by little Catherine discovers that Logan is his own person, not a stereotypical, shallow rich guy, but just as she is falling in love with him, grandma's original plan to derail Logan's father's plans for his son works like a charm, and Catherine is left, hurt, humiliated, and angry.

Like every Blaze book out there, this is a steamy story, lots of sexual tension and hot love scenes. I liked both hero and heroine, although the "I can make your dreams come true" line sounds a little condescending to me. Catherine starts out being a little too influenced by her hormones, and not listening to her brain, but in the end, this is a good read that I can recommend.

Summary: Another Simply book by Carly Phillips
Review: Dear Reader - I hope you will enjoy the story of Catherine Luck and Logan Montgomery, and the second book in my Simply stories. Cat is everything the women in the Montgomery social circle are not. Free spirited, independent and sassy - just the type to drive Logan's conservative family to distraction - and him straight to the bedroom! In SIMPLY SCANDALOUS you'll also get to revisit Kane and Kayla from SIMPLY SINFUL and meet Grace Montgomery, the heroine of my next Blaze, SIMPLY SENSUAL available in 2001! And while you're waiting, remember to check out my first Temptation, BRAZEN 6/99 and the Zebra Bouquets I write under the name Karen Drogin - PERFECT PARTNERS 7/99, THE RIGHT CHOICE 6/00 AND SOLITARY MAN 12/00. Until next time, happy reading! Carly Phillips (aka Karen Drogin) ( )END

Summary: Highly enjoyable
Review: Having met Catherine Luck in her sister Kayla's story, it's really nice to see that Cat ends up with her own hero in Assistant D.A. Logan Montgomery. Another very enjoyable romantic novel by Carly Phillips whose characters are mature, genuine yet vulnerable individuals. It certainly doesn't hurt to have some help pushing the two together, in the form of Logan's grandmother. Knowing that Cat and Logan deserve the best will keep you cheering them on through to the end of the book.

Summary: Just simply have to read it!!!
Review: I bought the three books of this trilogy all at one time. I'm sorry, but I wish that I had read at least one before I bought all of them. I could hardly read through parts of these books because they were so trite.

There were passages where Carly Phillips really grabbed my attention with her style. But the plots were just so boring. Also there were more sexual passages than I felt it needed. I felt it almost concentrated more on the sexual passages(for frustrated housewives?) rather than using the sex scenes to enhance the romance.

I don't know. Maybe it is just me. This was the kind of book I probably could have enjoyed in maybe my very early 20's.

If you are a mature woman (over 35) who has any semblance of depth - pass on this trio.

Summary: Very Good
Review: I have not read the previous book, but it didn't matter. This book stands on it's own just fine. Cat and Logan make a wonderful 'Cinderella and Prince Charming'. The best part is, Cinderella is not the only one to have her dreams come true. Logan is his own man and very strong, but also lonely. These two have more in common than they realize. Also, Emma is a hoot! Everyone should have such a loving, meddling grandmother. Very enjoyable. KCS

Summary: Button button who's got the button
Review: I probably should have given this a 3, but yet it wasn't that bad. My main problem was some lack of continuity, such as, a sweatshirt that buttons pop off of (although one of my favorite authors did start the hero on a white stallion on one page then turn the page it was a black stallion); first she was standing, no she's sitting, oh no she's standing; then the first love scene when Logan just can't seem to make up his mind between on the floor in front of the windows, on the couch, on the floor in the front of the fireplace or where. For someone who argued a lot with herself, Cat acquiesced way too quickly. Fact is I read this book in record time by skipping a lot of Cat's self argument and jumped to the interaction between the characters. I feel this book could have been much better with at least one more rewrite.
