Summary: My favorite Linda Howard book
Review: Sarah's Child is touching and sexy. Sarah is likeable because she's intelligent and has interests besides getting married and having kids. I found it a little hard to believe that she was a virgin at her age and with her looks, but oh well, I guess that's forgivable. She has been in love with Rome since she met him but he was married to her closest friend. Then a car accident kills the friend and his two kids and he goes through a lot of trauma, grief. He says he doesn't want children anymore even though he knows Sarah might want kids sometime. They get together and she eventually gets pregnant. It's kind of a rite of passage thing for Rome. A warm, funny story about love that's perfect for a rainy day and a fireplace.

Summary: WoW...
Review: This is one of Linda Howard's more emotional books. Sarah, who loved her friends husband and Rome who had lost his wife.
With emotians dripping from the seems from the get go, it only getts better as you read.
It's hard to describe this book coherently without confusing you or myself. Don't get me wrong. Its not hard to follow, just hard to explain without giving anything away.
Rome is a strong man but the death of his wife and two kids leave him devistated. While Sarah, who watched the man she loves marry her best friend, feels like she might be betraying her friend.
The one thing that Rome does't want happens. Causing upheavel in there lives. Will her be able to move on or will he stay behind.
I encourage you to read this book and hope you enjoy it!

Summary: Hated this book!!
Review: This is the second consecutive Linda Howard book that I have just hated! Where does she come up with these disgusting men characters? The storyline of this book is simply unbelievable. What a waste of time...

Summary: I hated this book!
Review: I really love Linda Howard's books but this one left me cold. If you're looking for a "feel good" book this isn't it! I just could not like the hero (kept thinking 'what a creep!'). Rome is a selfish and oversexed jerk and Sarah should have told him to go and take a flying leap!

Summary: Tissue time
Review: I read this book solely based on a recommendation on a mailing list that it was a tear jerker. I wasn't disappointed. This book left me in tears and wishing I had read it years ago.

The story of Sarah and Rome was written in 1985 so it's not your standard hero and heroine. If you're looking for a hero that would save the world and the heroine that stands by his side, this book isn't for you.

If you're looking for a great story that could possibly be happening to the neighbor down the street, this is it. Instead of being whisked away to a fantasy world where everything is perfect Linda Howard brings us into a world that closely mirrors our own.

It was love at first sight for Sarah. The fact that her best friend met and married Rome changed the course of Sarah's life. As any good friend would do she kept her love secret and avoided Rome at all costs. After a tragic accident, Sarah is there wanting to help him. It's not so unbelievable after all. Sarah and Rome marry, he out of guilt, she because she loves him. Sarah has a lot more strength than she's given credit for. It's as simple and as complicated as that.

Summary: When a book makes you cry!
Review: Sarah's a good friend and the only guy she has been saving herself for is the only guy she couldn't have. Sarah is in love with a co-worker and when she decides to invite her best friend to a company party. Sarah's best friend falls in love with this co-worker and vice versa. Unfortunately Sarah has to watch on the sideline to see her love of her life marry and have children with her best friend. Until a very sad and tragic accident causes the death's of Sarah's best friend and children. Sarah joins with her love in removing the reminders of his family out of the house. Witch brings them closer and unites them into a love match that Sarah's only dreamed for. She is given an ultamatum she can marry the man of her dream if only she doesn't want children. But what woman wouldn't take chance with happiness even if cost her the one thing she's ever wanted in life witch is to be a mother of the man of her dreams children.

This is one of the best books Linda Howard has written and I do recommend that someone reads this book but do remember "When a book makes you cry!" bring extra tissues.

Summary: I Loved This Book
Review: I felt this was a very good book in dealing with the death of the 1st wife and the two small children. I think it covered the healing process and all the anger and guilt feelings that Rome had to deal with. This is one of my favorite books and it will be a keeper.

Summary: Contraversial Love Story With Dark Moments...
Review: This is an older Howard novel for those wondering at the dark matter in parts. I enjoyed the story for what it was, but had difficulty liking the 'hero' of the book. He was a selfish and brooding jerk in my opinion. Sorry Ms Howard. But I understand why she made him the way he was and what she was trying for. The story was not about him, it was about Sarah, the heroine and how she overcame odds that were stacked against her and how she could love someone like him.
A heartwrenching tale about a man who marries her best friend when she is madly in love with him but stays silent for years. The man(Rome) is also attracted to Sarah, but ignores it and goes on to have children with his wife and lives a happy and sedate life until tragedy strikes and takes them away leaving him an empty and angry shell of a man.
Sarah tries to comfort him and finds herself unable to resist his advances. Thinking she can heal his heart she wholeheartedly gives herself to him and too late realizes he does not want a family again and cannot love her as he loved his wife(Sarah's best friend). Things go from bad to worse when she finds herself pregnant and alone. Rome refuses to accept another child.
Sarah shows us how determined and strong a woman can be when the odds are against her and how she comes up swinging. Refusing to let Rome destroy her she gets back up and makes the best of a very bad situation.
The love and devotion she has for this man is unshakeable and heartwrenching. Many times I yearned to grab her and shake her to make her see he wasn't worth it. But she convinced me that she was tied to him unwittingly by her heart and nothing would change it. Rome never convinced me he loved her enough or deserved her love. But in the end, he did come around enough for me to sigh and accept him.

Summary: The ONLY Linda Howard book I've ever hated!!!
Review: I love Linda Howard. I wait for every book she has coming out and grab them up as soon as they are on the shelf. But Sarah's Child....well, let's just say that I was pulling for Max and Sarah to get together and for Sarah to dump Rome right where she found him! Rome meets Sarah first, looks right over her and marries her best friend and proceeds to have two children with her. Sarah, who was really a very wimpy person but I liked her anyway, has always loved Rome. Now, Rome's wife and children are killed in an accident and he gets involved with Sarah because he's always been attracted to her. They marry, he visits her room for sex and then pratically leaves money on the table before returning to his room to sleep. Sarah accidently gets pregnant and Rome asks her to get an abortion because he doesn't want anymore children to replace his children who have died. I picked this book up in the store because it had Linda Howard's name on it but I hated it. I hated Rome. The story really bothered me that he met Sarah first but went for her best friend. I never got over the feeling that Sarah was second best so starting from the first chapter I was waiting for LH to change my mind but it never came. When I read a romance book I'm looking for a story that leaves me feeling good but this book left me frustrated. I normally keep a copy of each of LH's books that come out but this one is heading right for the yard sale table!!
