Rating: Summary: no sleeping after page 1 Review: I gave this book to a co-worker who called me in Washington DC from Palm Springs leaving a message on my anwsering Machine: "I thought we were friends! I couldn't put this book down! And now my husband wants a divorce, because I can't stop reading "Genesis Code". I'm already looking for Case's next novel! I can get a husband anytime, but it is so damn difficult to find a book that you don't want to end! Merry X-mas & happy Y2k!
Rating: Summary: A page turner, BUT Review: I enjoyed most of the story, but Joe Lassiter went from the head of a large investigation firm to 'not the sharpest knife in the drawer' in the last half of the book. The plot theme was original and I was wondering how the author was going to tie it toghter. Unfortunately he dragged it beyond the obvious. Still I enjoyed it and would read another of his books.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Read! Review: I had a hard time putting this book down. John Case has a talent of pacing his writing so it reads comfortably, not too verbose but more than satisfies the visual reader. Quite interesting subject matter!
Rating: Summary: Great! Real bestseller! Review: I've bought "The Genesis Code" in Pittsburgh occasionally just to read something during a ten-hours-long flight. I swear, I didn't close my eyes for a moment - I read it all the way long. It is fantastic! You can give it to your friends and relatives, and they won't be disappointed and definitely they will thank you for a good time spent with Case's work.
Rating: Summary: Can't I give it ten stars! Review: WOW! I read an average of 100 books a year, and this is the best one so far this year. Absolutely incredible. I can't recommend it enough...Hurry up Mr. Case, we need another book from this outstanding author!
Rating: Summary: If this can get published, I've got to start writing. Review: If this novel was half as good as the raves (from such literary giants as People and Kirkus) suggest, we'd be talking Pulitzer here. However, I wasn't impressed. I found the dialogue tedious, and at times downright stupid. Our hero, who heads an investigation firm picked the most absurd times to decide his investigation would end. And my God, he had a CRUCIAL piece of evidence that he carried in his pocket and neglected to get the damn thing translated from Italian or just plain forgot about it! It was so frustrating. And his inane questions...please. Oh, and the "shocking ending"? Like I couldn't see that coming. But I'm not going to spoil it for you. I will tell you that there is another novel I've read that has a similar premise and is a far superior read. The only problem is I can't reveal what it is because the concept is actually a spoiler for this novel. Send me an email if you want the title.
Rating: Summary: learned my lesson! Review: I bought this because of the reviews here. UGH. It was a waste of time. A summary sentence would have sufficed. Seriously, if you have any sort of literary taste, skip this. I kept waiting for the really intriguing parts. They never came. I figured out the whole story about a third of the way through. I don't understand the rave reviews. If you want religion there are better sources and if you want biomedical intrigue this isn't it. The Hot Zone (a great book) and others are so much better and more interesting. Additionally the lack of technical expertise when he was talking about computer stuff certainly made me question his medical research. I wanted to like it, but ultimately it was a big disappointment. Not written for people who think.
Rating: Summary: great book. keeps you on the edge of your seat Review: i thought it was a good book. kinda slow at first, but got better and better as i read on.
Rating: Summary: Interesting concept... Review: Theoretically, an intriging concept. However, the sex and testosterone outweighed the science by at least 8 to 1. And the scientific research was poor to midling at best.
Rating: Summary: Great book, but be patient Review: Great book. Case leaves you hanging until the very end. Very interesting plot. Left me thinking "Maybe ther are things man was not meant to know"Read it
