Rating: Summary: One of her best? Hard to believe. Review: I'd been hearing a lot about Linda Howard, so I bought this book on the recommendation of a friend who said it was one of her best. If it truly is, I'm wondering why this author is so popular. The story is a cliche from beginning to end--the tough, taciturn half-breed, the too-sweet-to-be-believed heroine, and the town's over-the-top racism. I could forgive the cliches if I cared about the characters, but I didn't. There was no spark to them, and the author told the reader what the characters were feeling rather than showing the emotions through actions or dialogue. The book read like a synopsis of itself, and I found myself wondering where the actual story was. I realize Linda Howard is a wildly popular author, but reading this book left me asking "why?" I won't be in a hurry to buy more.
Rating: Summary: if only every mountain man would find us... Review: From the first line of this book, I couldn't put it down! The male character is so sexy is palatable, and the herione is spunky and sweet. When they get together, dynamite!! I suggest anyone who wants to read about erotic sex BUY this book! You won't be disappointed, and will want to re-read it all the time!
Rating: Summary: Good audio cassette abridgement of Classic book. Review: The DH Audio cassette read by Nanette Savard is a good adaptation of the MacKenzie's Mountain book. Nanette does a great rendition of a prim southern school teachers voice. Her voice for Joe was also good, while I felt her voice for wolf was only ok. However, the abridement was done very well. If I hadn't read the book multiple times, I would have caught the changes; and changes there are. Where scenes occur and who speaks what lines are changed. Many if not all of Joe's scenes are cut. However, for the abridgement, this works. This is a pretty good audio cassette to rent if your a Linda Howard fan. Enjoy!

Rating: Summary: I loved this book! Review: This was my first Linda Howard book and I was absorbed from the very first page. Wolf, hubba hubba! That Mary was such a lucky woman! I am married to a "half breed" and so many of the characteristics of Wolf were so true to his heritage! If you haven't tried Linda Howard you really should.
Rating: Summary: All Linda Howard Books Review: I have been reading and enjoying Linda Howard books for years. She always writes books that have a bit of suspense and great romance. I especially have enjoyed Diamond Bay, Dream Man, After the Night, and All the Queens Men. One of the main things I love about her is that she makes the female characters strong and smart. She also always has a good story that is thought provoking and exciting. I just wish she would write more and that it was easier to know when they will be out. The last one that i read was Mr. Perfect and that came out several months ago. If any of you that read this review have a way of finding out when her next book will be released please let me know. Linda Howard is by far my favorite author. She is always terrific.
Rating: Summary: Mackenzie's Mountain RULES! Review: Mackenzie's Mountain reflects cuttingly the grand frontier of love and passion against the lush backdrop of Wyoming and who better than Wolf Mackenzie to tame the feisty spitfire Mary Elizabeth Potter whose cool facade hides a woman of passion and emotions. The first installment really held more substance for the fact it translates the beauty of their love to win over the townpeople's parochial opinions against the Indians. It is deeply insightful for a romance novel to talk about discrimination, the rich bond between Joe and Wolf and how hatred could take seed into tragedy. Ms. Howard has no doubt create a touching novel with this one, because not only it is dazzling and passionate but with the firm belief in love to eradicate all barriers. It was truly overwhelming to see Mary upholding her dignity against overridding objections of her relationship with Wolf and this Mackenzie family has become in our romantic kingdom, one built on love and trust. Altogether this book was such an enjoyable treat that made me want to recommend this fabulous read to all those astute readers out there.
Rating: Summary: How many Mackenzie books are there? Review: The book was great. Can someone please help me? Is there more than 3 books to this series? If so can please give the names. Thank you.
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: Wolf is a fantastic hero. He's strong, capable, and reserved. He's also very sexy! Mary is a dedicated schoolteacher. She is not gorgeous or flashy, but she is very determined. She is exactly what Wolf and his son Joe need. Mary wants to help Joe finish his education and try to get into the Air Force Academy. She also wants Wolf! Although she is innocent, she is irresitibly drawn to him. Wolf is the one holding back because of his past and his indian blood. When he finally unleashes his passion on Mary, she is overwhelmed. These two strike sparks! This is a fantastic intoduction to the Mackenzie family. Thoroughly entertaining!
Rating: Summary: MacKenize's Mountain Review: Wolfe and Mary are one of my faviorte couples, you are hooked from the first line and you don't want to put the book down. It's a wonderful love story not just between Mary and Wolfe but also Joe. ALL the MacKenize books are the same way. I can't speek for the rest of you but it about time that Chance's story is coming out.
