Summary: Fantastic!!!!!!!!
Review: Having read the 1st Westmorland book "Delaney's desert sheikh" I couldn't wait to get on with the next one in the series, "A little Dare". I don't think I have ever read one so fast. One afternoon from start to finish & it left me wanting more. I have bk. 3 "Thorn's challenge, which i'm just about to start, but after that I have to wait for them to be released here. That is going to be a long & unbearable wait for me. This series is fantastic.

It was great seeing Dare's parents in this one & seeing Delaney, Jamal & their son Ari.

Thank you Brenda for giving us these Westmoreland's. They are fantastic & I can't wait for the rest.

Summary: Charming story, but riddled with typos!
Review: I am one of the most avid romance novel reader and a big fan of Brenda Jackson. Some of the comments made on this book and about Brenda Jackson were ludacris. I think this book is wonderful. I give this book 10 stars and her other books because the scale for rating can not contain the enjoyment I get out of reading her books.

Summary: Charming story, but riddled with typos!
Review: I don't generally read romance, but this one was about black people, and I've always been a sucker for any type of story featuring rediscovered love. This story was sweet and charming, but, oh, those typos! Harlequin is one of the world's largest publishers. I can't believe they allowed this book to go to press in this condition. Do they think because it's about black people the readers won't notice? Missing punctuation marks, capitalization errors, run-on sentences, and wrong words abounded (the feel of his *chair* when they meant *hair*). The errors detracted from my enjoyment, often bouncing me out of the story. Where did they get their typesetter from, a GED class? And don't they have editors? If it wasn't for this I would have given it four stars. It really was a lovely story.

Aside from all the typos I only had two minor quibbles. Little Dare sometimes spoke more like an adult than a 10-year-old child, especially in the beginning of the book. And it seemed odd that one minute Shelly was noting how cool the October night air was, and on the very next page she's wondering why Dare hasn't been by at night in nearly a month to make love to her under the stars, safely away from the eyes of their son. The question had already been answered, and I wanted to scream, "BECAUSE IT'S OCTOBER AND IT'S TOO COLD TO BE NAKED OUTDOORS!"

This is definitely not your mother's Harlequin romance. I always thought these novels were filled with flowery language, and while there were non-clinical euphemisms (there were a LOT of mentions of "the area between her legs"), this is one spicy book. Also, I sensed a buildup for a subsequent story featuring one of the hero's brothers, which was handled very nicely and makes me want to read that as well.

Please, Harlequin, you owe it to your readers to print a better typeset book.

Summary: Disappointment from Desire
Review: I'd heard what a good author Ms. Jackson was and was excited to see her added to the rolls of Desire authors. I purchased "A Little Dare" anxious to read about an AA hero and heroine. However from the first few pages I could tell that this book did not compare to the majority of Desires. The story line is good -- woman and her son return to her home town to get him away from bad influences and run smack into her old flame AND the father of her son. However, the dialogue is unnatural and often forced. The porch scene that everyone seems to be raving about lacks sensuality that is the hallmark of the Desire line. And the love scenes embody a touch of kinkiness that aren't normally found in this line. I won't be searching out the previous book in this series nor will I purchase further books in it. All in all, it was a big disappointment and waste of good reading time.

Summary: Another winner by Brenda Jackson. . .
Review: Ms. Jackson never disappoints me. Some may have an issue with the length of the Silhouette novels but Ms. Jackson manages to give you a full story witin those 180 or so pages. There are moments that will make your temperature rise and moments that will touch your heart.

Any romance fan who hasn't read Brenda Jackson is missing something and should pick up this and every other novel of hers they can get their hands on. She has two more releases this year, one of which is part of the Westmoreland saga (Thorn's Challange). Personally, I can't wait!!!

Summary: Dare is HOT
Review: What can I say? Brenda does it again. This second book in the series about the Westmorelands (the first being Delaney's Desert Sheik) is just as great as the first. Of course, no Brenda book is without some serious sensuality, a lot of romance and a helluva story line. Ms. Jackson just can't write a bad book. Can't wait to read Storm's Challenge. The only problem I have is that Harlequin makes these books so short. But for $4.25, it is still worth every penny.

Summary: Storyline info
Review: When Shelly Brockman walked into his office, Sheriff Dare Westmoreland could almost taste the sweet, steamy passion they'd once shared. Then Shelly informed him he was the father of her son, the unruly preteen he'd arrested that day, and his fantasies turned to fury!

Shelly had returned to her hometown in Georgia to save her son from the mean streets of Los Angeles. Getting to know his father would be good for her son. But would being so close to Dare - the only man to make her pulse race - reopen a wounded heart that had never healed? Or, would this be her final chance to win Dare's love?
