Rating: Summary: Robin Schone will make you a HOT GIRL! Review: Robin Schone is the best new writer out here right now. "A Lady's Pleasure" is the best romance story I have ever read. The characters are well written and complex, and the SEX is great. The other stories in the book were awful, but please buy this book, you will not regret it. The old saying "save the best for last" dont follow it in this case, read "A Lady's Pleasure" first.
Rating: Summary: HOT, HOT, HOT, HOT! Review: This book is serious reading for any fan of these four authors, a must for any very serious fan of the romance genre. Beatrice Small, I have not read very much of. However, if she writes more like this, I will read more of her work. Thea Devine and Susan Johnson are both writer's of exceptional talent. Robin Schone shines like the up and coming star she is. I will definitely read more of her upcoming works!
Rating: Summary: Just read the first story. Review: I read this book to be exposed to romance writers other than Bertrice Small. In my opinion, she is an excellent storyteller, capturing history on the page and making it come alive for me. Her contribution to this book seemed to be more of fantasy type of story. I wasn't instantly pulled into it like I am her other books. Bertrice Small seems to be better with full length books, where she can describe history in detail, and set the scene for intrigue. As for the other three stories, I didn't like them much at all. They seemed to be focusing on the sex, for the sex itself, not as part of the plot, or the characters. They reminded me of the books I used to read, and hide from my parents, when I was in seventh grade. Take my word for it, Ms. Small's story is the best, and it isn't her best work, either.
Rating: Summary: CAPTIVATED Review: I was in a world of exotic sunrise. These four women are truly talented. Ms. Small's Ecstay was the bomb. I really enjoyed the characters and the love story all together. Susan Johnson is still one of my favorite writers because of her love scenes, and she did not disappoint me at all. Thea Devine's, Dark Desires had me wishing for a man to make me submit, Sorry my opinion. Love the Plot it is a must to read this story. This was my first story by Robin Schone, and I liked the plot and the love scenes. If you like eroctic stories this book is a must. I hope that these four will be paired again in future books.
Rating: Summary: Enticing Review: All four of these writers know what they are doing. I had only read Bertice Small before, so I thought I would read that story and end there . . . but I kept on reading, and I am glad I did -- I could not put it down! A great read.
Rating: Summary: Remember When ..... Review: Remember several years (decades?) ago when a group of writers got together to try to write the world's worst novel, each one responsible for a chapter? Weeelllll................! And, I am generally a fan of the authors of this "debauchle" and of the genre!
Rating: Summary: Skye O'malley Review: Nothing compares to this. All of Ms Small's work is exceptionally worthy of reading, but I've read them all. Does anyone know of something else comparable?
Rating: Summary: Poor Writing Review: This is the first book of "erotic fiction" I have read and if it is an accurate example of the genre, then it will be the last I read. The first story by Bernice Small was interesting but poorly written. The plot device about a legendary city of women -- who eventually fall under male dominion -- was very contrived. The following story was just plain boring. It was also poorly written and left a lot of little details hanging. Not that they were important, just annoying. The bondage story by Thea Devine was awful. There didn't seem to be any point to it and the erotica wasn't even up to Harlequin Romance standards! All the characters did was snipe at each other and think about being in "power". Yawn. The last story by Robin Schone seems to be the one that everyone liked but again, I thought it boring and contrived. It was better written as far as the prose and dialog was concerned, but the plot was old and tired -- a storm for crying out loud! -- and although the sex scenes were better than some of the other stories, there just wasn't much believability there. Oh well. I guess this shouldn't be compared with Shakespeare (who actually was just as bawdy) but it was still a waste of money.
Rating: Summary: one word: HOT! Review: this book was great but i like Robin Schone's the best because hers isn't juz some sex scene, but there were emotions and feelings in the characters too. Bertrice Small is one of my favorite writers, but her story in here seems really cold. i can't understand how the hero in this book can invite some one to have a three-some with the woman he loves and enjoys it too! it seems really sick to me, not the love sences, but the characters themselves. and the other too authors aren't on the same rank as small and schone in my opinion. but altogether, it's a great book.
Rating: Summary: Captivated Review: To say this book will make your body hot is an understatement. I have read all Bertice Small's and Susan Johnson's books and now look forward to reading Thea Devine and Robin Schone. Keep on writing books like this one and I'll buy them all.
