Rating: Summary: Whitney and Clayton Review: A marvellous story if i've ever read one. Judith McNaught is a superb writer and i loved this book. I have read every single one of her books, and i still come back to this one again and again. Among her best books are "Perfect," "Paradise," "Something Wonderful," and "Almost Heaven." "Whitney, My Love" comes before "Until You," so if you like this book, make sure you read "Until You." This story is about Whitney Stone, a young woman sho grew up rich, but was bargained away by her bankrupt father to Clayton Westmoreland, the Duke of Claymore. Whitney refuses to have anything to do with Clayton, for she had retuned to England to win the love of her childhood friend Paul. Using suductive measures, Clayton gets Whitney. Eventually, Whitney falls in love with Clayton and goes on to fight for his love. One of Judith McNaught's best works.
Rating: Summary: One of the best of all of McNaught's novels. Review: This is Judith McNaught's first novel, and it is definitely among her best. Clayton and Whitney are among her most defined and likeable characters. If you haven't enjoyed a novel by McNaught before, I definitely recommend this as one of the first you should read. You'll be hooked!
Rating: Summary: The only book that has ever swept me away! Review: Whitney My Love totally captured me from the first time I read it. I have read it several times since, and I never get tired of it. That says enough in itself. Judith McNaught creates characters that feel so true and real to me, that I can't help but become enraptured. She is a tremendous writer and this is perhaps the best novel she's ever written. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone!
Rating: Summary: The Greatest Novel Ever Written!Must READ! Review: Whitney my love was an excellent book and i consider it to be the best from Judith Mcnaught. The characters in the novel are so powerfully written that the reader will think that they are one of the characters. A lovestory about two very magical people who will never be able to forget.
Rating: Summary: Nothing compares to this novel. Review: Judith McNaught never fails to lure me into her novels. I consider a book that makes me cry top notch, and I have cried in every single one of Judith McNaught's novels. Whitney, My Love is THE best novel out there. I will never forget Clayton and Whitney.
Rating: Summary: Just finished reading for the second time Review: I read this book a few years ago, but I couldn't resist to read it again. Okay, okay, so I'm a sucker for a good love story and if you are too, this is the book you gotta read!
Rating: Summary: Excellant, Must Read, Make you belive in true love. Review: I first read this book about 3 years ago. From the moment I read the first page I could not put it down. I finished the book in two nights. It was set in a time of mystery and intrigue. Love and War. At first your not taken to Whitney, with her rather childish was, as you read you can't help but to fall in love with her, and all the charcters. Go out and buy it today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: A Guilty Pleasure Review: As far as romances go, this was a very compelling enjoyable book. Most romances, I can't remember the title or the main characters name. Diana Gabaldon is the only writer who really sticks with me, because her work is so substansive. But this was a great guilty pleasure read.
Rating: Summary: A touching storyline and interesting characters. Review: Whitney My Love is one of Judith McNaught's best books ever. Whitney is given to the Duke of Claymore because her cold father is bankrupt. The duke takes her virginity violently one night, and, apologetic, he sends her money. This, of course, makes her feel like a whore, and she refuses to speak to him. Then, they make up, and this shows how true love can overcome all-even pain and grudges.
Rating: Summary: Myy favorite of Judith McNaught's novels! Review: I own all of Ms. McNaughts' full length novels (I don't care much for those abbreviated, collection type stories), and Whitney My Love is by far my favorite (followed closely by Paradise!) I think it was the first of her novels that I read about 9 years ago. I re-read it at least once a year and recently had to replace my copy because the original one was falling to pieces! I was not offended by the "rape" and the "whipping". Perhaps horrified by the "rape", but then we were supposed to be, weren't we? And wasn't the whipping just a form of discipline - after all, she was only what, 16? Whitney is an incredibly strong character, as are all of Ms. McNaught's heroines, which is one reason I am so drawn to her stories. And Clayton was great. My favorite part of the story is when his brother invites Whitney into the house just to bug Clayton, who is there with his fiance, because his brother recognizes her as the girl Clayton told her about when he was drunk. Overall, a great romance - one that always brings tears to my eyes.
