Summary: Cinderella and Prince Charming
Review: I have read this book at least 6 times and never once have I had enough.

Whitney Is young and Naive but brave and confident, And Clayton..well he is too good for words, gorgeous, big and strong, he fell into my dreams at night and left me contented.

I think this book should become a film, the only problem is ..there is not any man good enough to play the part, but maybe there should be a sequel, as this book was too short, I never wanted to put it down, And in the end I went out and bought every book judith Mcnaught has ever written, although the recent ones are not as good as the earlier ones, i.e WHITNEY MY LOVE...

Summary: Whiteney My Love
Review: Overall I thought the book was just a wonderful as the original. Once I started reading it I could not put it down. The ending did surprise me. I didn't excpect for Judith to go into such great lengths about other characters. Although, I loved the detail of the traditions of begotting an heir I was a bit disappointed that it was not focused totally on Whitney and Clayton alone. I would have loved to see a sequel in this book instead of a "new and improved" ending.

Summary: An old favorite, expanded, no real improvement on original
Review: Well, basically, I loved this book and I love it still. I is a very nice, partially humorous love story, extremely original and very well written. The rewrites did not change the book fundamentally for me, and I knew - it was clearly advertised - what I was getting, namely a slightly expanded version, and I still wanted it, so I am not blaming anyone, which many reviewers seem to do. I think that it is legitimate to try and improve a book, and legitimate to offer it to the public, and if a reader does not want that - do not buy. That said, I was disappointed in one respect: McNaught said in interviews that she would be explaining Clayton's motives for his mistrust and anger better, and I was interested in that. As far as I could see, he had a fairly happy childhood, no particular emotional scars, and still he kept being sheer paranoidally suspicious of Whitney, rarely understanding that he was "hunting" her with no holds barred and that her evasion tactics might stem from that. So I waited to hear about what had made him so suspicious, some old betrayal, some problems in his parents marriage (like "Something Wonderful", eg) but nothing, no explanation like that. Just some obvious arithmetics about pregnancy and that was that. So, I still do not understand why Clay was so cruelly suspicious, and I find that a disappointing part of the character of the hero in an otherwise very lovely book, which also explains my rating.

Summary: The original is better!
Review: I absolutely loved the story of Whitney, My Love. I am on my third copy of the paperback in five years. So, I was extremely interested to read this new version. I have to say, I was not that impressed. I was disappointed in Ms. McNaught for bending to pressure of political correctness and rewriting the scene where Clayton gives Whitney a well-deserved spanking. While it may offend modern sensibilities, it was an acceptable act for the historic aspect of the book. Also, I didn't really see a need for her to add the new chapters at the end. All she was trying to do was tie it the "prequel" "A Kingdom of Dreams" and the "sequel" "Until You", and I think it was very unnecessary. The chapters about Stephen's romance and his inheritance were completely out of tune with the rest of the book -- this is a book about Whitney and Clayton, not about Stephen. And, while it was nice to read about the birth of their baby, I don't really think the part about the box was needed -- again, it was only used to tie it to Kingdom, and I think that was done well enough when Clayton describes the marriage traditions.

I feel like Judith McNaught knew that her last two novels had been disappointments to many of her fans, so she tried to find a quick fix by "enhancing" one of her best stories. Reading either of the Whitney, My Love novels will give you an amazing tale. But, in my opinion, you should stick with the original!

Summary: Fall in Love with this Book!
Review: Whitney, My Love is the first book I read by this author, and I was awed. In this story, a young, unappealing girl becomes a swan and realizes that her childhood dream of marrying Paul is becoming an impossibility because of someone else's decision for her to marry a different person. Her immediate reaction and subsequent actions are delightfully humorous, yet at the time slightly frustrating. When she finally realizes that she wants the Duke, they have a misunderstanding and a separation occurs. When reading this part of the story, the reader can so easily feel the depth of emotion each character is feeling. Throughout several more misunderstandings, the same feelings occur. McNaught's ability to create emotion is outstanding. If you enjoy this book, be sure also to read Once and Always, which features Stephen, the Duke's brother you will meet in Whitney, My Love. A Holiday of Love also contains a short story about Nicholas DuVille, whom you will also meet. All three books convey the depth of emotion and desire involved in falling in love. It lets you fall in love all over again!

Summary: Awesome even 20 years later
Review: I remembered it from the first time & remembered passing my paperback around high school and not getting it back in one piece. I've told people through the years that if they want to read the ULTIMATE romance book, here it is. The only one that made me cry. When Clay stood at the window watching Whitney leave after the rape. I felt the cold as he reached his hand forward and felt only the window. Well, I bought the anniversary edition & cried again. Now my book (hardback this time) is being passed around at work with everyone saying "wow!" Thank you Ms. McNaught!

Summary: Another great book from Judith Mcaught
Review: I am a huge fan of Judith McNaught's and I absolutely love this updated edition of Whitney. I thoroughly enjoyed the original version, but this new version completes the original story and really clears up a few unexplained bits of info. It was great to read how Stephen becomes the Earl of Langford, and to have an explanation of his behaviour. The best bit was at the end when Whitney finally gets Clayton to understand how she was feeling about his continuouslly jumping to conclusions. Well done Judith McNaught.

Summary: IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!
Review: The phenomenal Judith McNaught made a rare piece of diamond (her book!) even more brighter and dazzling! The original WML was my absolute favorite historical romance... ever! But, the revised version has made me love it even more. The subtle changes that she has made to her new book is barely noticeable but enhances the whole story. The new ending is more than I could ever ask for! Whitney and Clayton's story is so divine... I didn't think it could get any better but Judith McNaught has made it even more endearing and is a sheer epitome of a romance novel!

Summary: Whitney, My Love
Review: I love Whitney, My Love. This is the second JM book I've read, and Remember When cannot be compared to Whitney, My Love. A friend gave me her copy, and I'm dying to buy my own copy. Whitney and Clay are everything you want to be in a relationship. Opposites do attract...a well-written book and all the characters were great. Thank you JM!

Summary: very disappointing
Review: I am very disappointed in this book I have read nearly all of Judith McNaught's books and have loved them all I have read Until You and Miracles - the two sequals to Whitney my Love and I thoroughly enjoyed them.

I do not know what happened to this one, first of all - there is no need at all for rape even if it is committed by an act of love, the book seemed to be more about lust and sex than love. I think it was rather stupid to have them breaking up again after they had declared their love for each other. I actually don't think Clayton would have skipped to that conclusion after reading the letter. It was rather far fetched and it made the story drag on too long.

certainly not one of her best!! :(
