Summary: A Great Book With Complex characters
Review: I happened to love most of LaVyrle Spencer's books, but this is my favorite. So rarely do romances tackle the issues that Spencer illuminates in this novel. Finally, a women with spirit who is not a shrew or countlessly doing stupid things.

Roberta Jewitt returns to her home town after divorcing her husband. She brings her three daughters in order for them to become closer to the family she left in Maine when she went away to college in Boston. However, she encounters many things when she returns, not all of them good or pretty to read about.

I felt this book was ultimately about choices. The choices you make, the motives behind those choices, and the rewards and consequences of those choices.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a grown-up romance and not the junior high school stuff that a lot of authors are putting out.

Summary: One of Spencer's Best!
Review: I have been a fan of LaVyrle Spencer's for a long time. I didn't think she could top some of her previous novels, but she outdid herself on this one!

The story of Roberta Jewitt is one of humor, love and determination. She was a woman who lived her life the way she chose in a time when that was not socially acceptable. This book will have you laughing, crying and even angry at times.

Spencer has done a wonderful job of intertwining her characters throughout the story and giving everyone their due.

Summary: Great Book A must read
Review: I just loved this book. Roberta showed such strength through the whole story. Set when it was and the way things were she showed that a woman can be as strong as she has to be. She also proves to women even today that if you are strong you can overcome

The book made me go through many emotions and gave made me realize what women of that period had to endure. I hope to read other books by this great author.

Summary: I LOVED this book!!!
Review: I picked up this book from a discount table in the local BJ's, desperate for any type of reading material. Imagine my suprise when this book not only holds my interest, but moves me to the point of tears! This was an excellent story - very real, very true. The characters were well-developed. I've read this book 4 times in the past two months....very heartening to know that someobody is still writing books that satisfy and stay with you

Review: I read That Camden Summer over Spring Break on the plane. It was a good story, I just thought it was a little predictable. Maybe it was supposed to be like that, but I would have liked something a little more fun. Overall it was a good story.

Summary: The first book that I refered that EVERYBODY loved!
Review: I read this book last summer and the memory of how much I enjoyed has sent me back looking for another book that could possibly meet the standards that it has set. From my sister to friends we all agree that the biggest disappointment was finishing it.

Summary: That Camden Summer was a trip to the past and its prejudices
Review: I really enjoyed this book and they way it took you to a different time period when women were incapable of anything except cooking and cleaning. Roberta proved that a woman can do alot more. I feel the way the town gossiped about her was realistic and I loved the way she handled it. This was a fun book to read and kept my attention all the way to last page. If you like it when a woman triumphs against all odds you should read this book

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Wonderful Fast Paced Read
Review: I started this book late on a Friday evening and by Sunday morning had finished. The Camden Summer pulled me in and kept me wanting to know what happens next. This is the second L.Spencer book I have read and I dare say I will read more! She is a feel good writer and her books always leave me with a warm feeling toward her characters. This book is a great tale of a divorced woman and that battles she faced. Well worth the money to buy this one!!
