Rating: Summary: Happily Ever After...NOT Review: I do enjoy books that tug at your heart strings and ones that make you laugh out loud but I always like my romance books to end happily ever after. I have read alot of Jude Deveraux's books and this one is as wonderful as others with the one exception of the ending. I was getting more worried about the fate of this couple as I got nearer the end but I thought to myself...this has to end happily ever after, I never have read a romance book that didn't...I felt awful after I finished this book. Imagine finding your soul mate, your other half and then never loving again and going through the rest of your life alone. That is how the hero spends his life...how romantic! NOT! I was pleased with the story line and will continue to read Jude Deveraux but I am hoping to never find an ending like this one had again.
Rating: Summary: WHAT A GREAT STORY Review: THIS IS A GREAT STORY, i REALLY, REALLY LOVED THIS BOOK. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE WHO LOVES A GREAT LOVE STORY.
Rating: Summary: i cried my heart out Review: perhaps iam a little too naive, but i have enough taragdies in life. when i buy a miss deveraux book iam looking for a dreamy world where people laught alot & end up realy realy happy i was realy shoked when they had to leave each other. i mean i read legend b4 & it too had the concept of lovers over time & leaving each other but the new hero was soooooo worth it & i grew to like him. this time i felt jerked from nickolas's warm arms to what? & maybe the girl well find love thatis a maybe but what about him? the dear lovely necolas i grew so found of ended leaving for over 40 years in sadness & lonleness? ilove miss deveraux alot but i hated the way nicolas had to suffer i cried my heart out after finishing the book & felt worse than how i did before i picked it up
Rating: Summary: Romantic, Sexy, Humurous, Suspenseful, DELIGHTFUL!!!!!!!! Review: I just finished reading this book and have read many romance novels but this has to be one of the best I've ever read!! Jude Deveraux did an excellent job in making this a believable and highly romantic story. I didn't think I'd like the time travel aspect but I loved it. Douglass (the female charachter) was very likeable, quirky, and not always perfection (which I liked about her) while Nicholas, the Knight in Shining Armor, was very sexy, charming, real and had the charachteristics of a normal man, not just the hero. I also highly enjoyed the other charachters. I loved despising Gloria and Robert. I loved Honoria and even Lady Margaret. I loved them all and watching them come to life and to see the irony between the charachters in the 16th century to those in the 20th.I found the book to be adventurous and suspenseful as well. I had a hard time putting the book down, that's when I know I'm hooked! I liked the ending I just wish it were a little more involved with the "passenger", maybe if we could have seen a little more twist of fate. Other than that I loved, loved, loved this book and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a great summer read, or an anytime read.
Rating: Summary: Taking your Breath Away Review: Oh my goodness! I fell in love witht this book. When I first started reading the book I liked it because the author sure knows how to write. She sounded so real, and didn't exaggerate in anything. I loved all of her characters, and I loved the ending. It took my breath away. I am in love witht this book. This must be the best book the author has ever written. I loved everything about it. She just took your breath away. I guarantee you.
Rating: Summary: Onion-eyed Again Review: I'm normally not a romance fan, but this book caught my attention. But even though it has great reviews at amazon.com, I still had doubts about this book at first. The story about time-travel and love throughout different centuries seemed too cliche to me. But I couldn't finish reading this book. I finished reading it about an hour ago and I still have goose bumps all over my arms. This book is magical. I am now waiting for my own knight in shining armor, my own Nicholas, to come.... (Haha.. I wish..)
Rating: Summary: love this book!! Review: i love this book i must have read it 10 or more times! i think they should make a movie about this story! if you are looking for a good romance this is the book for you and i'm positive that you will love it!!
Rating: Summary: The end made it worth it Review: I saw the great reviews on the site for this book and got it! I hated the first half. In fact, I actually stopped reading it several times. I absolutely HATED the boyfriend she went to England with and it just made me not like Dougless from the begining. I am a very strong woman and don't have much tollerance for women who let men walk all over them!! I couldn't get over the whole, extensive scenes where they try to convince each other that they really are from another time. I get that that would be my reaction if someone came foreward in time, but I didn't want to read about it over and over and over! I forced myself to continue and I am not sorry I did. The historical part of this book was WONDERFUL! I liked how the author went into the daily lives of 16th century commoners and aristocrats...I can tell she did research and that as all well done. I knew the ending was coming and I was prepared to be unconvinced, but it was GREAT...how she brought everything together almost made me cry!!! I couldn't give the book 5 stars since I had to make myself keep reading it twice, but i really liked it in the end and I will definitely re-read the second half of the book!!
Rating: Summary: One for the keeper shelf! Review: I just recently picked up this book to re-read after several years away from it ~ it is just as wonderful as ever! I even found the new "updated" version ~ can't figure out what she changed ~ it's all still wonderful! LOL! If you've never read a time-travel... read this one. If you're a big fan of time-travel... read this one. If you think time-travel is stupid and not worth your imagination or time... read this one. It's a beautiful story, what more can I say? :)
Rating: Summary: An Excellent Read! Review: This is the first book that got me started reading Jude Deveraux's work. Witty, full of adventure and very sensual. I loved the character Nicholas when he is in both modern times and in his own age. And you cannot help but sympathize with Dougless for I'm sure that many of us have been jilted by someone we loved. After reading A Knight in Shining Armor, I can't get enough of Ms. Deveraux books! Also recommend reading: The Taming.
