Great history lesson on top of a beautiful love story, with some serious action. These are my favorite types of books to read. Indigo is still my #1 favorite... If ya haven't read it...Do so ASAP... It's another keeper I promise.
Rating: Summary: Another for the Collection Review: After Leah Barnett's surrogate father coaxes her into marrying him on his death bead and heads to Colorado to collect his inheritance, all of her troubles begin. She is sued out of her late husband's estate, treated hostily by Helene, pursued and mistreated by Seth, bought and paid for by Ryder Damien the illegit son of her late husband known by the monnaker of "Satan" for all of his wrong doings in his past. He treats her as a typical mystress, Until the truth of her marriage finally comes out. Can Ryder get past the fact that she once was married to his father, or the thought of her sleeping with his father, does she finally get all that she finally desires? With the interwoven history lessons within this book, It is definitely one to add to the B. Jenkins collection of historical romances. I am definitely looking forward to whatever is next.

Rating: Summary: Exciting Reconstruction Era romance Review: As he lies dying Louis Montague wants to make things right for Leah Barnett, daughter of the woman he always loved. He persuades Leah into marrying him so she can inherit his vast estate. Reluctantly she agrees to wed a man she considers her father while knowing she will be a widow in days and that their marriage will never be consummated. Louis also makes a deathbed confession. He admits that he has sired two thirty plus year old boys that live in Colorado and that he has not seen them in decades. He wants a shocked Leah to tell them he is sorry. Leah takes the train west where she meets the younger Montague Ryder who feels this Jezebel took advantage of a sick old man to steal the estate. However, the vast estate has large debts, which Monty offers to pay in return for a few favors. Soon, Monty and Leah fall in love, but can he overcome his distrust and hatred especially when someone else wants them dead. Readers will find this an exciting Reconstruction Era romance, but what make a Beverly Jenkins tale a delight are the tidbits on African-American history that blends smoothly into the plot. For instance, readers learn the color of Leah's skin via the conductor telling her that people like her do not belong in that part of the train. As usual the graceful Ms. Jenkins entertains and educates her audience with a stirring ethnic romantic tale of 1870s America. Harriet Klausner
Rating: Summary: Why can't beverly write faster?? Review: As usual, Ms. Jenkins turned out a great novel. my only complaint is that she doesnt publish more of her black historical romances, and that there arent more of this authors out there!!
Rating: Summary: Love and Drama Review: Berverly has done a vary good job with this new book. I really liked the way the story line flowed. This book was written with her usual format but with a twist I found shocking. I knew something was up and Beverly gave suttle hints. But I was not ready for the dark side of this character. The leading man "Ryder"(Before the Dawn) has moved into second place running close to "Gaylen"(Topaz) in my book. You go girl, I enjoy your books and can not wait till May to read your least creation.

Rating: Summary: Great Romance Review: Beverly Jenkins has brought African-American Romance to life. I have long been a fan of historical romances and never thought that anyone would be able to write a historical romance with people of color as the main characters, but Beverly has done it! This is great book full of rich history and steamy romance.
Rating: Summary: Back for more.... Review: I have all of Beverly Jenkin's novels and I thought they would all be the same, but to my surprise they get better and better. I started reading her books in 1998 and still to this day I wait unpatiently for every new book she has to come out. My only wish is that some day she will turn her novels into Movies. Other than that, I love her novels and will continue to be one her fans forever.
