Rating: Summary: A witty and romantic read Review: I enjoyed this book so much that I read it twice in a row - the story and dialog are so good I wanted to be sure that I didn't miss anything! Alexandra Gallant and Lucien Balfour, The Earl of Kilcairn Abbey, are two "notorious" members of British society who come together when Lucien hires Alexandra to be governess to his intolerable niece. The immediate attraction between these two leads to lots of witty repartee, and some very heated moments. Although Alexandra and Lucien quickly fall in love, they must both shed their self-protective shells before they can commit to each other. Surprisingly, it is Lucien who breaks down first! I enjoyed seeing him do everything that he can think of (and he does some crazy things) to convince Alexandra to marry him. There are also some great supporting characters in this story, including two who do everything they can to foil Alexandra and Lucien's union. You'll love these characters and this book!
Rating: Summary: Good but not great Review: I enjoyed this romance for the hero and not so much the heroine. She at first seem witty and nice but toward the end of the book I became annoyed that she loved him but didn't ever trust him till the last few pages of the book. I would have liked more time with the two charcters together, happy, and in love; even if outside forces were causing them trouble. Instead you begin to wonder if they are ever going to make it together and then if you even care.
Rating: Summary: Awful Review: I have rarely read a story with a man as sexy as Lucien who willingly admits his love (what woman would not like to hear those words from him) for his lady and she, being extraordinarily stuborn, refuses to agree to him until he decides he will give up his inheritance, and he is an Earl. Oh, and she is carrying his heir? Hello, women out there, this is good reading?????? This is romantic? He should have dumped her sorry behind, but he, unlike her, had integrity.
Rating: Summary: BUY THIS BOOK! Review: I have read a couple of Suzanne Enoch's books and found them terribly bland. The characters and plots were generally forgettable. This book has restored my faith in Enoch's books. The characters literally jumped out of the book from the beginning and I was hooked till the very end. I just love books that reflect so much on the hero's vulnerability and his reflections on discovering a foreign emotion - love. The hero goes the distance to win the love of his governess and it is truly heroic to the very end. I was rooting for both of them throughout the book.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: I have read other books by Suzanne Enoch, but this was not one of her best. Lucien's hardness toward his own family is not that well explained, and there seems to be some mystery hinted at about his cousin James that never materializes. Alexandra spends most of the book pushing Lucien away. Then it seems she DECIDES she's in love with him instead of really FALLING in love with him because she still keeps refusing him. Frankly, I give Lucien many points for persistance. I will continue to read future books by Suzanne Enoch because this is not a bad book, I just have come to expect more from her stories. KCS
Rating: Summary: All I can say is WOW! Review: I have seriously underrated S. Enoch before now. I have read her books sporadically the last few years, but after reading about Lucien and Alexandra, I will be looking for her other books. I enjoyed this book so much my husband and son were completely ignored. I recommend this book highly.
Rating: Summary: Fabulously Witty Dialog Review: I have to say that in this first of the trilogy, Suzanne Enoch has given us a rake who is soooo sexy that I had to fall in love in the first chapter. He is the irrepressible and obnoxiously delightful Lucian Balfour, Earl of Kelrain. His insults to his Aunt and cousin are so bad you would have to hate him for being so obnoxious, but in fact they are so witty, they're hilarious! He is being forced by conditions in his fathers will to make sure that his cousin be presented and wed to a person of the nobility. Unfortnately, the aunt has no taste in clothing, is loud and gossipy. So Lucien must find a governess to guide and teach them the finer points of decorum around the ton. Alexandra Gallant, has been applying for governess jobs for the last 6 months with no luck becuse of an unfortunate incident from her last position. When she applies for this position, Lucien hires her immediately based on her looks and the fact that he wants her more than any woman he has ever seen. When she tries to be honest about the unfortuante incident, the sinfully gorgeous earl hires her anyhow with promises of a mind boggling and toe curling suggestion of why he is hiring her. Of course, the monthly salary he offers her is more than she earned annually on her last job and being quite near the end of her funds, she takes on the job. The dialog is hilarious. Both the Earl and Alexandra are stubborn to a fault and their bantering back and forth is extremely funny. This book is a marvelous read and very difficult to put down! I highly recommend this for those who have never read a Suzanne Enoch book or for those who have.... She does not disappoint. This is a definite keeper! Great fun read!

Rating: Summary: Exciting and Humorous Review: I love books where the Hero has to more or less storm the walls of the Heroines defenses. This is one of those books Lucien is so certain that Alexandra will fall to prey to his charms. Although she is very attracted to him she resists. As she gets to know him she realizes that he is not such a rogue beneath his public face. They both have to overcome their painful past in order to be happy together. The secondary characters add charm to the book.
Rating: Summary: WOW! What a TERRIFIC BOOK! Review: I LOVED this book! Alexandra and Lucien were perfectly matched. The story is tender and funny and kept me up past 2 am. If you don't get another book this month, GET THIS ONE. This is Book One in a series and I can't wait to see the others! (I hope there are ten, at least.)
