Rating: Summary: Blecch! Review: I must not have been reading the same novel as some of you. Johanna Lindsey broke my heart with this book. She was my favorite author for YEARS. But as I kept reading, all I could think was, "Sellout!" Was there even a romance here? It was like one big epilogue... If you're a big fan of Johanna Lindsey, just reread one of her earlier novels. You can still stay in that happy bubble where everything is good, especially Johanna Lindsey's books.
Rating: Summary: When you run out of Mallory's please go to Georges brothers! Review: Wow I have a hard time believing some of the people who write these reviews call themselves regular Lindsey fans. I enjoy the fact that you can make one hero strong and the next totally different if you didn't I might as well simply read the same book over and over. Keep up the diversity and please keep writing these wonderful romances. Derek was a sweetheart and I wouldn't have minded having him rescue me.
Rating: Summary: More Malory novels please! Review: This one wasn't exactly "Gentle Rogue", but to tell you the truth, when I picked up this book, all I wanted to know was more about James & Tony. I'm sure many other readers felt that way too. The Malory series is no longer just about the couples in the current novel, but about the couples in the past novels. I for one liked Derek's story (though the villain was too hardcore), and I would've been devastated if JL had not let me know what happened to Nick & Regina, Tony & Roslynn, James & Georgie, and Warren & Amy. Warning to readers: the Malory novels are now only for Malory fans. To become one, start with "Love Only Once" and go from there.
Rating: Summary: A thorough disappointment Review: As a reader of other Johanna Lindsey books (no Mallory's though) I was bored reading about a bunch of characters with limited or no roles in the story. Additionally, though the premise was interesting, the villain is so thoroughly distasteful that it interfered with the love story - which was lacking. I agree with another reviewer - the heroine needed some serious help, and the hero was not very defined. This book left me cold.
Rating: Summary: Okay , but not up to par with the other Mallory novels Review: I am a big fan of Johanna Lindsey but this is not one of my favorite books. Derek is never the dominant character in this book like his uncles were in theirs. Also the whole subplot with Ashford was a bit on the sordid side, especialy for a Lindsey novel. Although, I love the Mallorys and I like keeping in touch with them, I think that a little separation would have been beter for Derek's character. You just can't help comparing him to his uncles. With James's novel, Anthony was more of a peripheral character since so much takes place at sea. I look forward to reading more Johanna Lindsey.
Rating: Summary: Audio Cassette Review: I recently read the book and enjoyed it throughly so decided to purchase the cassette. The cassette is narrated extremely well, however, the whole story line seems to be lacking something. I read the book whilst playing the cassette and found that whole chapters were missing. I knew when I purchased the cassette that is was abridged but the things that were missing were the things that made you smile and laugh, you went on a journey with them as they realized their feelings for one another. With the cassette I felt that one minute she's the mistress the next he's in love with her. Not much conversation in between. If you have previously read the book I would recommend the cassette, if you haven't read the book the cassette could be lacking something for most.
Rating: Summary: Second to Gentle Rogue Review: While Gentle Rogue was my favorite Malory novel, Say You Love Me was my second favorite. I thought Derek was a wonderful and sweet man to Kelsey. It was nice to see that he wanted to protect her from the likes of that other bidder, (I can't remember his name). I know that he didn't fit the mold as the other Malory men as he was gentle from the beginning but I suppose that is why I really enjoyed it. The Malory men never want to admit they're in love and sometimes that is exasperating. I would like to read Jeremy's story because he also has a soft spot. After all, he is James' son.
Rating: Summary: A Page Turner! Review: I really enjoyed this book. This was the first Malory novel I've read that got me into reading the others. I thought Derek and Kelsey should of had more conflicts other than that she wasn't a Lady. In the beginning of the book it was the only episode where Kelsey's temper got the better of her. She should of been more disagreeable instead of accepting what everything Derek did for her. It would of been more thrilling to read, but it was exciting and interesting without the tirade's of Kelsey's temper, too.
Rating: Summary: a truly inspired story of lasting love Review: i really enjoyed this latest book in the mallory series and am on pins and needles waiting for the next.
Rating: Summary: Lacking Review: This is another example of a romance writer who has made a name for herself that writes nice stories in the beginning and then starts throwing out stories with carbon copy characters and NO plot. It is wrong that this becomes an acceptable standard just to sell a book. The Mallory stories should have ended after James and Anthony.
