Summary: Continuing the fabulous Malory series
Review: The Malory's are a fun family to read about, and the good times continue with this installment. Kelsey Langton thinks she is saving the aunt and uncle that took she and her sister in following the death of their parents when she puts herself on the auction block and sells herself to the highest bidder. Her uncle had lost all his money gambling, and Kelsey and Jean were already living on the charity of their relatives. Kelsey goes into this bargain fully aware that her reputation will hereafter be hopelessly ruined, and there will be no marriage in her future, but she does not hesitate to sacrifice her future for her family's. Lord Derek Malory is the one who has bought the right to Kelsey, without knowing she is from 'good' family. Derek is keen to avoid scandal for the sake of his own family (who cannot seem to avoid it) so is happy to keep a low profile. With his family, he should have known that would prove impossible...

I really didn't like Kelsey's uncle Elliott who came up with the idea of selling off his niece to save his own skin. Of course if he hadn't (as mentioned near the end of the book) then there would be no story. The Malory's are definitely the factor that lifts this book from an enjoyable but fairly standard Regency romance, to something more. Something funny, mischievous and more light hearted. Which is not to say that the book wouldn't have been a good story without them, but they made it so much better - the various arguments, teasing and pulling together in the face of adversity made me almost homesick.

Summary: Enjoyed it
Review: I throughly enjoyed this book. I'm not too hot on historical romances, but this book just did it for me. Johanna Lindsey does a great job of making you feel like you're in the time period of the book.

Summary: Not the best,,,,
Review: That's only the third book I read by Lindsay and while I really enjoyed "Love me forever", this one didn't struck me as a particularly good romance and didn't hold my interest.
The mentions about the characters appeared in the previous books are too many and boring. The story should have been more focused on the couple, and Kelsey's character wasn't well developed. Although some parts about Derek and his friends were funny, and the beginning very promising, "Say you love me" was a disappointment to me.

Summary: This book is one of my favorite Malory books
Review: When Kelsey Langton believes her family is going bankrupt, she decides to become a nobleman's mistress. She gets sold to the highest bidder, Derek Malory. Kelsey tries to fit in with her new position in life, but she finds herself falling in love with Derek. While this is going on, Kelsey is kidnapped by a sadist, Lord Ashford, and Derek finds out his mother is alive, and not dead as he was told for so many years. Jason Malory, Derek's father, gives his wife a divorce, and realizes something he did was wrong.

Summary: My very first romance novel
Review: ok -- so I never thought I would be reading smut -- but my sister-in-law handed me 4 books and said that I should read these books as an escape. I started with "Say You Love Me". I am now a romance novel junkie. I've read 10 books in the last month and I have no intention of stopping. The characters were tender yet strong, loving yet uncompromising, smart yet falible. I smiled the whole way through. I love the Malory family, I'm now reading the beginning of the series, going backwards strangely enough. Eitherway -- LOVED this book!!!

Summary: A Tender Love Story
Review: Ms. Lindsey plays to her strength in this novel by making use of all the delightful characters she has created in the Malory family. She brings the family into the storyline of the main characters and makes them part and parcel of its happy resolution, something she does again in the last book so far of the series, The Present. The book's love scenes are different from those of other Malory novels, a lot less wildly passionate, and a lot more tender. That is not to say there isn't plenty of passion, but it is more restrained, and in keeping with the characters. After all, Derek is not Anthony or James! But in its own way, this is a wonderful story, highly recommended.

Summary: 5th book of the Malory Series
Review: First off, here is the series in sequence: 1. Love Only Once 2. Tender Rebel 3. Gentle Rogue 4. The Magic of You 5. Say You Love Me 6. The Present: The Malory Holiday Novel

I was really looking forward in reading Derek's story that I took this book with me in a long flight from L.A to Hong Kong. To my dismay, this book made me fall asleep more than I can count. The beginning was quite interesting, then things started to fall apart.... WHY? Here's why: I have notice that all books in this Malory series (except for the first one) contains lots of repetitive informations. There were times I had to skip parts wherein a Malory or two will start discussing the story or happenings of the previous books, sorta like a short summarization for those who have not read it. For readers like me who have read the series in sequence, It's useless info. and i won't lose anything to skip it... At first, this style of writing didn't seem to bother me but when I got to the third book of the series, the summarization of the first two books was getting to me. Imagine my restlessness when i was reading the 4th and the 5th book (which unfortunately happened to be Derek's story)! I skipped more parts in this book cuz I didn't need to read the summary of the 4 previous books which i have already read. All this useless (in my opinion) summarizations, overshadowed Derek and Kelsey's story. Ms. Lindsey should have concentrated on detailing their characters (esp. Kelsey) and building up their relationship with each other. This is the main reason why I rated this book quite low, there was sooo many summarizations of the previous books! No doubt, It was great to read UPDATES of the Malory characters in the previous books, i liked that part but i think there is no need to summarize each couple's story.

Derek and Kelsey's love story have some potentials... Their story was quite sad compared to the other Malory's yet I wasn't convince and drawn to them like I should. I really tried to like this book. In fact, I kept picking it up after putting it down for an hour or two... But even after skipping some parts, it still doesn't peak my interest. Derek's strong profile seemed to fade and Kelsey, being pictured as a strong level headed girl, also seemed weak and often times insecure & confuse. Perhaps it is the situation and the contradictory occurances that made this book so unconvincing or perhaps lack of detailing and building up... or perhaps it's simply the too many summarizations of the previous books that turned me off from this book. It's just too bad cuz Derek was one of my favorite Malory too. Oh well, there is many people who rated this book a 4 and 5 stars so perhaps you might like it more than I have. So pick it up and decide for yourself. PLUS, this book if part of the Malory series. If u started the series, you'll have to read this one too.

Summary: #5 of the Mallory Series
Review: Orphaned, Kelsey Langston and her young sister go to live with their aunt and uncle. One night, Kelsey finds her drunken uncle contemplating suicide. He his lost all of the family's money. He convinces Kelsey to sacrifice herself by becoming a rich man's mistress. For the love of her aunt and sister, Kelsey does. Derek Mallory notices an auction going on in one of the gentlemen's clubs he is visiting. A pretty, blushing girl is being auctioned off and the high bidder is Ashton, a known sadist. Unable to let the girl go to such a violent man, he bids on her and wins a mistress. But there is something about this young woman. Her speech and mannerisms are too fine. Surely she isn't a Lady. Derek soon realizes that he enjoys his mistress' company, but trouble is afoot. Ashton doesn't like losing to Derek. He intends to have Kelsey for himself. And he intends on punishing her for not belonging to him.

Kelsey is gentle, kind-hearted, resourceful, and charming. She is a very likable character and easily falls in love with Derek. Derek is protective, sexy, and caring. An absolute fantasy man. He and Kelsey sizzle together! A perhaps improbable story, but that is what it is. A tale of passion and love coming through. A wonderful addition to the Mallory books.

Summary: One of my Favorite books ever
Review: This may not be the book for those who love a super-dominant super-arrogant hero and a spunky though secretly insecure heroine, but it is still a great love story.

The hero, Derek Malory, is confident, but still manages to be a nice person, considerate of others. And the heroine, Kelsey, is spunky without being a weasel. She makes her decision and is willing to accept the consequences without constantly bemoaning her fate.

Perhaps my favorite aspect to this story is the fact that it is just plain fun. There aren't any serious issues to confront, or tortured souls to sooth. And the main characters are genuinely likeable. I've read way too many books where the hero and/or the heroine are so contemptible that I find myself cheering when something dreadful happens to them. This is definitely not one of those books.
