Rating: Summary: READ THIS BOOK! Review: I can't say enough about this author...I am on my 7th Julie Garwood book. Her plot and characters are the best...it is hard to put her books down once you start them! Please keep writing them for us, Ms. Garwood!
Rating: Summary: Wow ! Garwood delivers another great story! Review: I have just finished reading this wonderful book by Julie Garwood. I first got hooked on her after reading the stories of the Clayborne family (starting with For the Roses... that was made into a made for TV Movie, "Rose Hill". Then came the trilogy, and finally "Come the Spring", Cole's story, a personal Favorite!) When You read one of her books you instantly fall in love with her characters, and can't put it down. WARNING! Once you read one of her books you'll be hooked for life... I've never been disappointed with her writing, and am looking forward to reading many more. The Prize was an "edge of your seat" kind of read. I even found myself laughing at the end of one of the early Chapters, you'll have to read it to find out why :) This is a great book! ENJOY :)
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: This book is absolutely wonderful. I couldn't put it down until I finish it. This doesn't come as a surpise since all Julie Garwood's books are wonderful. My favorite part was when the table turn on Royce. The part when the knights were to fight for her. At the last minute, instead of marrying the knight who wins the fight, she got to pick her husband out of the lot and chooses Royce. Like all the books by Julie Garwood this is a must read. Her books will carry you to the places where the story is taking place. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoy a great read.
Rating: Summary: THOROUGHLY ENJOYABLE! Review: I must admit that every one of Ms. Garwood's books are wonderful and this one is no exception. You are swept back into the time of William the Conqueror where you meet the brave and competent Saxon beauty, Nicholaa and the strong and noble Norman knight, Royce. Sparks fly between these two from page one. In fact, Nicholaa knocks Royce off his feet . . . literally! With the aid of her trusty sling and a carefully dispatched stone, she drops her "Goliath" where he stands. His heart follows not long after. When Royce finally gets Nicholaa back to London, he discovers that a twist of fate and the queen, Matilda, makes him the "prize" instead of the Saxon beauty. Although he is stunned with the turn of events, he decides that "marriage is like a map". Little does he suspect that Nicholaa is about to turn his map theory and his life upside down. Julie Garwood creates a superb romance with just the perfect amount of humor. A terrific story that I have read many times over.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! The best one so far! Review: The first book I read from Julie Garwood was "For the Roses". After that book I completely fell in love with her writing. I have read almost all of her books. "The Prize" is so far my favorite. I fell in love with Roy. My favorite part is when Nichola chooses him to be her husband and she says: Roy "chek mate"
Rating: Summary: Good novel ! One of Garwood's best! Review: I really enjoyed this novel. I loved how strong and courageous she wrote Nicholaa. I am disappointed, however, that Garwood writes a 360 into her behavior (which she does undo at the end). Other than that, this book was great. Most of her books are similar, but I love the way she weaves characters into other books. Not as sequels -- but as stand-alones.
Rating: Summary: JUST WONDERFUL!!!!!! Review: This is certainly one of the most beautiful love stories tath I've ever read.. I was so sad when I finished it tath I keep reading again and again... Definitively five stars!!!!
Rating: Summary: the best garwood novel ever Review: Through the desolation of war springs a love story between a Saxon maid and a Norman warrior. The Prize is a marvelously written book. If you liked The Secret, I'm sure you'll love The Prize. Julie Garwood gave the world a great gift by writing this novel. She made Nichola and Royce come alive.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: This was the second Julie Garwood book that I read after The Secret and I was not disappointed. I loved Royce, who's the perfect husband! He's kind, patient, and loving. Nicolaa was such a funny, sweet character also. I love how the characters are so affectionate with each other, just little gestures like a good morning kiss or her sitting on his lap. And the scene where she tries to get him drunk is so hilarious! I loved this book and I've read it dozens of times, that is, until I had to return it 'cause the cover fell off and the bookstore didn't have another copy.
