Rating: Summary: My favorite James River book. Review: After reading "Counterfeit Lady" and "Lost Lady" I would have to say that this is my favorite out of the three. I love the whole plot of promises made in the past, then going through with it later on in life. Although at times I got really made at some of the characters in the book, I think that it was good to have them so bitchy and mean, because in the end, the good guys always wins.
Rating: Summary: THIS WAS MY KEY TO THE HISTORICAL ROMANCE WORLD Review: As an impressionable fifteen year old, I chanced to pick this book off the shelf at the home of a woman whose children I was watching, and I have never looked back. Jude Deveraux is a winning author with a wonderful sense humor and a writing style I have loved for 15 years. If you enjoy a tear-jerking side-splitter (trust me on this), RIVER LADY is for you. I've had three copies of this book, and have worn out every one. Thank you, Ms. Deveraux, for being the talented woman who inspired me to try my own hand at writing romance.

Rating: Summary: Ugh... I hated both Leah and Wesley! Review: I don't know... I was anticipating reading this both, after 'Counterfeit Lady'. But it was a REAL disapointment. All Leah had was her infatuation with Wes, which she'd seen probably only ONCE(that time when she was a child). And jeez! The problem she had with people helping her out! I'm gritting my teeth right now. Wes was no better. What a jerk! Sure at times he seemed ALMOST nice but.. Ugh.. Just smack him! He and his obsession with someone 'needing' him. I thought Kimberly was a but of a simp but she showed a little backbone later on. Early on in the story I was urging to get together but near the middle and end, I was yelling for them to STAY APART. They do not belong together! O.o.. Heh.. Well that's enough ranting..
Rating: Summary: Great book.. Review: I enjoy this book very much. Leah was just wonderful, i mean she had to put up with Wesley and the way he treated her. And how Justin falls for for Leah which made Wes jealous. I kinda wanted Leah to go for Justin but then again Wes won me over w/ his charms. I recommand this book to everyone. But first read the other books about Wesley's brother Travis and Regan in the Lost Lady i enjoy this book very much, and the other one is Clay and Nicole in Conterfeit Lady, very great books. I hope u will enjoy it as much as i did.
Rating: Summary: I had to struggle through this book Review: I had to force myself to finish this book, thinking it would get better...after all, reading Knight in Shining Armor, The Conquest, and other great books by Jude Deveraux, I had such hope for this book. There was no love between Leah and Wesley. All Leah had was an infatuation with a stubborn, stupid jerk. She deserves so much better than Wesley. I found myself hoping that she would get together with Justin and leave the idiot Wesley with his darling Kimberly. About Wesley and his stupid need to have a woman who "needs" him, and is not as "independent" as Leah: all I can say is, "bullcrap". He impregnates Leah at the beginning of the book, thinking she is a whore, and then rejects her? Who "needs" a man more than a pregnant lady? Wes's sense of honor is seriously impaired, and I found myself feeling bad for Leah. Poor Leah, obsessed with a dandy who only wants his precious Kimberly. Readers, do yourselves a favor and read other Deveraux novels, such as The Invitation, Sweet Liar (my favorite), or Knight in Shining Armor.
Rating: Summary: I READ THIS BOOK IN 24 HOURS Review: I literally could not put this book down!!! It was the second book I've ever read by Ms. Deveraux (first one being Legend... awesome book) and I cannot wait to get the two books that accompany this book. This one is the last of a trilogy. It kept me so enthralled. I loved the way Wesley was a jerk to her. Thats what made it so intiguing. Had he seen her and fell inlove w/ her "after" look it would of made this book a piece of re-cycled mish mash. Plus, the scenes w/ Miss Kim were hilarious. The way he grows to love Leah is what made my heart sigh that silly romance novel sigh. The mud fight was uproariously funny and lighthearted. ... This one I highly recommend!!!
Rating: Summary: Great Novel Review: i loved the characters and how Leah knew she loved Wesley. Unconditionally almost. Wesley was such a major jackass at the beginning with Kimberly that i wished Justin beat him up, but as the story goes on he learns to appreciate Leah and love her. I didn't like Kimberly either, but you find out that, she's actually pretty nice, she was just brought up, and pampered and a little slow.
Rating: Summary: A great read, but needs a little work.... Review: Leah is a poor farmers daughter tring to make a living on a little swamp-farm to feed her many brothers and sister.Wesley is a half-owner to the Stanford Plantation. Leah meets Wesley when she is just but a young girl, and falls in love at first sight with him. Years later she meets up with him again and gets herselfs pregnant. In a forced wedding Wes marries Leah, and then leaves that very night(a big fat jerk if you ask me).A year later Wes comes back, but while he was gone Leah has gone through some changes. She looks, talks, and acts totaly different, thanks to Regan and Nicole. Wes is still unaffected by the change and still want his first intened, Miss Kim. Leah leaves with Wes, along with Miss. Kim and her brother, to go to Wes's farm out west, so she can start a whole new life. As the goes on, Wes starts to see Leah in a different light. While the beginning was great, the middle was lacking, and the end was so sudden, and was over so fast. This wasnt ms. deveraux best work, but it was a good read.
Rating: Summary: A book of love and ment to be Review: Meeting as children she knew that she would marry him. He gave her his promise that they would. Truly romantic, this book will captivate you in a story of love ment to be.
