Rating: Summary: Ehhh... Review: I never really was fond of Tami Hoag and this book didn't change my mind one bit. The only reason I picked up this book was because of the first book I read of hers, Lucky's Lady, and I liked it somewhat to the extent of deciding to read another book of hers.
Rating: Summary: a big disappointment Review: I read a novel by T. Hoag called Guilty as Sin and that book was great! I thought I would read a similar one, but ... unfortunately this was a very ordinary and simple romance novel. Not much to say about the contents. Man meets woman, he likes her, she likes him, some minor problems arise and they find each other.... what's new?. Sorry, not much more to tell, no suprising turns in the novel a straightforward and very predictable book.
Rating: Summary: Needs more help Review: I read some of Miss Hoag's books such as Still Waters and thought it was terrific.Apparently this book wasn't terrific. The hero goes gaga over the heroine at first sight and keeps thinking how fragile and delicate she is.Within one or two days, he realizes he's in love with her. It's a little too fast. The heroine barely budges for the hero to know about her.Her past could be a little be more elaborated on. Despite all this, there were some good things such as the hero's friends. The friends were cool and I liked them.
Rating: Summary: Not half bad, actually Review: I read the first reviews here before starting it, so was well aware of the possiblility i might be dissappointed. How wrong could i have been? I am now, after reading it, amazed at the other reviews. I enjoyed this book SO much. She is without doubt one of my favourite authors, and this book is although maybe not her best, still pretty ... good. The plot is good, it's a great romance story. the characters i feel are as always, brilliant. it was so refreshing to find out that the Bryan wasnt her ususal "evil on the surafce, complete puppy underneath" type men. as i can see it that is her only failing. her men are always the same. but not with this one, it might be an earlier work, but it certainly does shine. It's quite simply a lovely book. the relationships between the characters are great, and the way she deals with addie's worseining illness is a great show of what an exceelent author Hoag is. this was a very nice light read. it is admittedly a romance, something which i dont usually tend to go for. not because i dont like them, but simply because i prefer mystery/thrillers. and it's a really good romance. it's light hearted and doesnt take itself too seriously. i really liked the "fearsome foursome" aspect, and i liked the way she did manage to weave a hint of intrigue into the romance-dominated plot. my only criticism of this lovely book is the ending. not all of it, just one aspect. i feel the part where bryan strikes up a conversation with a ghost is very out of place, and didnt quite fit. it added a nice twist, and made it more original i suppose, but i didnt really like it. i think she might have taken that a bit OTT. all in all this is not her best book, but it is not, in my opinion, as bad as the other reviews claim. i advise that if you are a fan of hoag, or simply of light romance novels, you do read it. and judge for yourself
Rating: Summary: Pretty good. Review: I, unlike the other two people, though this book was very good. The only thing that wasn't really believable was how they fell in love so quickly. Also, the suspense wasn't all that great. A ghost- for suspense?? A little non-believable. Other than those two things, I loved the book. The story sent me on a wild goose hunt, wondering what would happen to Rachel and Bryan.
Rating: Summary: I can't believe how bad this is.... Review: Like a real bad episode of Scooby Doo...
Rating: Summary: Bad Review: Not like any of her other books. Boring and predictable. No magic at all.
Rating: Summary: Beware..do not waste your time and money Review: Sorry, I swear I am not a negative person but this book really was horrible! I quickly picked this up (I was with my husband, he HATES to shop!) and from the back cover looked pretty interesting. I got to page 115 and could not force myself to read it anymore! I just hate to throw money away and tried to keep an open mind hoping the book would start making some sense! The main characters are horrible! I have read several bad reviews about books that I have really liked in the past that I did not agree with at all, but anyone thinking of reading this book, the reviews are RIGHT ON THE MONEY! It will be an investment you will definitely regret
Rating: Summary: Yuk! Review: Thin Dark Line was the first book by Tami Hoag I'd ever read and I liked it so much I was delighted to discover she'd written so many others. Obviously that was a one-off because this one is just a laughable cringe-making romance novel. The plot and storyline are pathetic and most of the book is just corny sex scenes and endless, very repetitive analysis of the feelings of the main characters.
Rating: Summary: What is that smell? Review: This is the story of a young girl who comes home to care for her mother who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease. Little does she know before her arrival, an old friend of her mother is already there, trying to bring proof to her hysterical claims that the house she owns is haunted by an elusive ghost. Young girl falls in love with this man who is first perceived as a threat to her security. The two fall in love and live happily ever after. Phew! Somebody open a window! This is a twelve year old drama queen's idea of romance and the world of grown-ups. Said daughter is a woman of the world at the ripe old age of sixteen. Her "aged" mother is a mere thirty six as is her longtime friend, who rattles on about the infirmities he suffers in his "old age." The writing style constantly switches person and tense. The story is ridiculously predictable. The entire tale was a complete departure from any form of reality. Dear reader is well-advised to throw this book out the window he has just opened.
