Summary: Still Waters should be titled Polluted Waters
Review: I'm sorry, but the likelihood of the male romantic lead finding our heroine even remotely attractive after she opens her mouth is surely stretching fiction to the limit. She has no redeeming characteristics for the reader to latch onto (and I was trying). I couldn't summon up any sympathy for her past because she just seemed like a foul mouthed shrew and what was meant to pass for snappy repartee was just plain bitchiness.

Summary: to much dirty talk
Review: i liked elizabeth and dane but could not keep my mind on the story line fo been distracted by the vulgar talk.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I have read other books by Hoag...but this one was rather disappointing. Right now, I am trying to finish it to justify the 5 bucks I paid for it. I love her other thrillers. This one can be summed up with three words...HIGHLY UNLIKELY and SEX. When I read a book such as this, I expect something relative to real life...this book has none of that. The scenes are unbelievable. And DANE and ELIZABETH are only interested in sex. To sum it up, when I was in eighth grade, I read War and Peace in one day. I'm struggling to finish Still Waters, and I've had it over a week. I don't even want to know who was the murderer. I just want to finish it because I have never left a book I started to read, unread. Shame on Tami Hoag for selling out. I've read some Harlequin Romances that were more concerned with plot than this. I wonder about the reviews from people who said they never read her before...they will be in for a big surprise if they are expecting this crap.

Summary: Great!
Review: This was my first book by Tami Hoag, and I immediately went out and found all the books she's written. I loved it! The main characters weren't perfect and that's why I liked them so much. Keep it up Tami!

Summary: The main character was very hard to like
Review: I had hard time feeling any connection to the main character. When a person looks like a tramp acts like a tramp and encourages people to treat her like a tramp Its hard to feel much sympathy over how baddly she is treated.

Summary: YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO PUT THIS ONE DOWN!!!!!!!!
Review: Ms. Hoag certainly knows how to spin her tales with just the right combination of romance with a suspenseful murder on the side. I have never been disappointed with her work. The minute I finished this one I picked up "Lucky's Lady". I have also read "Night Sins", "A Thin Dark Line", and "Guilty as Sin". All are excellent and highly recommended.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Heavy on the romance, light on the suspense
Review: A slightly better than average offering from the very capable Tami Hoag, who thrives on mixing edgy romance with suspense and crime. For those who have read other books by Hoag, "Still Waters" does not measure up to her best work - "Night Sins" and "Guilty As Sin." In this book, Hoag drifts off track from the suspense plot frequently, while over-dramatizing the sex and romance storyline. Hoag also gets lazy with her editing/vocabulary - the same words and phrases turn up on every other page. The word "sardonic" appears at least thirty times, and everyone in the book seems to "arch a brow." Hoag also fails to present a heroine/protagonist of her usual caliber; the lead character is hyper stereotyped as the rough-edged, tart-tongued Texan with her Gucci bag and "Caddy" automobile. The book is quick paced and interesting enough for a good read on a slow afternoon, but definitely not Hoag's best work to date.

Summary: kudos, Ms. Hoag!
Review: Terrific, charismatic characters! Elizabeth draws you in from the moment you meet her. I loved that she was not the typical heroine. She was courageous and sexy. Would you consider a sequel Ms. Hoag?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: From the moment I opened this book, I couldn't put it down!
Review: Determined to start her life over Elizabeth Stuart and her son moved to a new town. Writing for the local newspaper, just doing her job, when she makes a startling discovery.....A MURDER. The people are convinced that she or her son are involved, so does the very arrogant sheriff. Recovering from a divorce, he refuses to believe that a thing called LOVE exists......until he gets passed his own pain and sees Elizabeth for who she really is.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Hats off to Ms. Hoag!
Review: Tami Hoag is simply one of the best authors around, and this book is proof of her ability. This book has it all - romance, great sex, mystery, and humor. How about a sequel Ms. Hoag?
