Rating: Summary: This was one book I just couldn't put down! Review: If you love a great mystery accompanied by a great love story, then this one's for you! Forget reading to relax or to to try to get to sleep--I stayed up almost all night just wondering what was going to happen next! This was my first experience with Tami Hoag, and if you make it yours, you'll be as certain as I that it will not be your last. Happy reading!
Rating: Summary: Not as good as her others! But still a good read. Review: I am a huge Hoag fan - but do not judge Tami Hoag by this book. Please read "Night Sins", "Guilty as Sin", "Cry Wolfe" and "A Thin Red Line" first! She is a great writer and this book doesn't quite measure up to the others. It's a little predictable and not as nerve wracking as the 4 above. However, it is a good book that held my interest. After reading the 4 above, then try "Still Waters" and "Dark Paradise".
Rating: Summary: Kept my interest until the very end. Review: The characters lives and the plot all intertwining kept my interest until the end of the book. I didn't want to put it down. Hoag develops her characters so well that imediately I felt a powerful bond to each of the weather it be positive or negative. They were so real. Overall a very well written book one of the best I have ever read!
Rating: Summary: Don't any of her men have "normal" names? Review: Before I start I should probably explain that I'm an editor, so I'm rather particular about what I read. I'd heard of Tami Hoag for years, but hadn't read anything she'd written. Then, yesterday, I decided to pick up this book and check it out. I want my money back. I detest romance novels, and this one is a romance novel trying to be a mystery. As a writer, I'd be embarrassed to present characters like this, and the names are straight from the stock romance name list. I've learned my lesson--no more Tami Hoag novels!
Rating: Summary: If you have nothing else to read and need a time killer... Review: Well, in spite of what the cover says, Patricia Cornwell has nothing to worry about. Whether it is a new story or not it is corny and predictable.
Rating: Summary: Brain Damage Review: I just suffered through 184 pages of this story and I can't bear to turn another page. This is the most boring book I have ever read. Dane and Elizabeth are....well, who really cares? This book is a waste of time and money. My advice is, "Don't bother."
Rating: Summary: A Tami Hoag classic returns to print! Review: I thought STILL WATERS was a fabulous book the first time I read it several years ago and I still do. To the amateur "reviewers" who aren't smart enough to check the copyright page and realize it's a reprint of one of her classic novels, not a brand new suspense offering, I can only say, "Duh!" No one mixes suspense, romance, and sheer writing prowess like Tami and it's easy to see why her publisher chose her to be one of their top stars after reading STILL WATERS. I found the resolution of the murder mystery to be particularly haunting.
Rating: Summary: Finally....a page turner Review: I was extremely impressed with the creation of the story line in this book. It was an easy read with a lot of suspense and a great combination of terror and romance. Suberbly written. A definite must-read.
Rating: Summary: DO NOT judge all Hoag books by SW. This is NOT a new book!! Review: Tami Hoag started as a romance novelist. This book was first released in 1992 and was one of her first forays into the mystery world. She has since gotten a lot better at writing mysteries. Although I did enjoy this novel, I agree with those that say it is too harlequin. Read some of her more recent novels (like Ashes to Ashes or the Sin books) if you want more mystery and less romance.
Rating: Summary: Not a page turner like her other books Review: This is my fourth Hoag book, and I really enjoyed the others. This book, however, was not only predictable but too over done. The emphasis on the southern background was ridiculous. If she wrote "sugar" one more time I was going to scream. Silly story with a lack of substance. Who falls in love in 10 days???? Come on...
