Rating: Summary: Don't miss this one Review: I have to disagree strongly with the readers who didn't like this book, or felt it wasn't up to Lori Foster's usual standards. Unexpected has action and a hot romance. More than that, I really like the character of Ray, a woman who has never felt 'normal' or that she fit in with the rest of the world. Imagine her distress at finding herself pregnant, soon to be responsible for the care and rearing of a child. Ray's love for her unborn child is matched only by her insecurities and makes her a likeable and sympathetic character. Lori Foster has never, IMHO, let a reader down, and Unexpected is no exception.
Rating: Summary: "Fantastic" Review: I have to disagree with some of the viewers who said the book wasn't one of her best. I on the other hand, thought it was great. However, if anyone viewing the messagers, if you want to buy the book get it and view it yourself. I've so many times read some reviewers point of view on books and found out their opinion was different from my point of veiw. I got the book and I loved it.
Rating: Summary: This book must have been phoned in...hideous. Review: I heard good things about this book...unfortunately they were wrong. This story is lacking in plot development and the characters are all one-dimensional cardboard cut-outs. Tried to slog through it but the writing was very juvenile. Don't bother with this one. The only other L.Foster book I can recommend is Say No To Joe and only half-heartedly at that. Save your money.
Rating: Summary: Unexpectedly Bad........ Review: I know other reviewers used the same title for their review, but there is just no other way to say it. This book does not read like the Lori Foster we know and love. If this were my first Lori Foster novel it would be my last.
Rating: Summary: Sorely Disappointed Review: I started reading Lori Foster 6 weeks ago and after the first book "The Winston Brothers" I rushed out to find any/and all of her books. Although I like the woman being the take-charge kind of person I found this booking lacking Lori drive and intensity. It won't turn me off of her books, but it could have been better.
Rating: Summary: I always love Lori Foster's writing Review: I think it was great to see a heroine who was this tough and likable. A little more sex and danger would have been nice but the added interest of family and family relations (like in many of Lori Foster's books) was great.
Rating: Summary: Really Fun, Review: I thought Unexpected by Lori Foster was really fun to read. Actually, it was so much fun I have read it two times already! This Book Is A Keeper!

Rating: Summary: strong suspense thriller Review: In a Chicago dive, Eli Conners awaits the arrival of the meanest SOB that a firm he contacted for special help employed. Into the bar walks a beautiful woman, who joins him. The company sent Ray "don't call me Jean" Vereker, who confidently informs Eli that she is the best and baddest. She will go to Central America to retrieve his kidnapped brother, as she already knows where he is held. After seeing her "perform" and reading her resume and accolades, Eli hires her, but insists he accompany her when she goes to free nineteen year old Jeremy held in Mataya. As they trek through the jungle, they fall in love, steaming up the already heated environment. However, he is an upper crust business mogul while she is a lower class mercenary making a permanent relationship seems impossible. Though readers will find it difficult that behind the desk even diligently working out Eli can keep pace with a pro like "bad girl" Ray in a deadly jungle scenario. Still the story line is hotter than the locale as the lead duo find love is an UNEXPECTED place, time and person. Lori Foster provides her usual strong suspense thriller with a gender bending twist on her bad boy tales. Harriet Klausner
Rating: Summary: Unexpectedly bad! Review: Ms. Foster introduces several romance themes into this book, but none of them work. First, the idea of a tough female mercenary leading a daring rescue in Central America is a good idea; but Ray isn't so tough except for knowing some martial arts and the rescue isn't very dangerous. Ray and Eli just fly in, grab Eli's brother, and fly out. The only tension is sexual, wondering when and where it would finally happen. Second, we already know from the cover of the book (notice the stork) that Ray turns up pregnant, which I don't mind in a story; but it was not "unexpected." Third (and last), we head on out to the ranch at the end. It is too little and too late to turn this one into a Western. Sorry, but I recommend avoiding this one entirely.
