Summary: Hollywood needs to start making Gibson's books into movies!
Review: I actually bought true confessions in the airport and got so into it that I was sad when it ended. It was a very funny book, as well as romantic. I was so bummed when it ended that I had to run out and buy another one of her books. I must admit she is an addicting read! I just finished Truly Madly Yours and loved that too! I just wish Hollywood would discover these books, they would make such great romantic comedies!

Summary: Her Best Yet!
Review: I admit to being a very big Rachel Gibson fan when I bought this book so maybe I'm biased, but I absolutely loved it!! I've loved all of her other books and didn't think she could get any better, but she has. Both Hope and Dylan are such interesting (and in Dylan's case, incredibly sexy!) characters and it's so refreshing to read a romance novel that doesn't resort of ridiculous contrivances and completely irrational behavior to further the plot. I can't recommend this book enough. It's hilariously funny, it's sexy and it's just an all-around great read.

Summary: Slow Start, But Fast Finish
Review: I am confessed Rachel Gibson fan since the moment I read TRULY MADLY YOURS a couple of years ago. She knows how to write about the area I know well, since I live next door to Idaho, the land of Anything Goes in a Small Town. Small town gossip, interesting characters, beautiful countrysides, along with the feeling that anything outside your local area is a foreign country.

TRUE CONFESSIONS is funny and witty, just like TRULY MADLY YOURS was. The characters hop and flow through the story very well. Dylan Taber is the sheriff of Gospel Idaho and the father of a small boy. Hope Spencer is a big city girl who breezes into town with the idea of getting away from it all after some stressful situations. They both have secrets from one another. The beginning of each chapter were headlines from tabloids...very excellent touch, since the heroine was a journalist for one of those tabloids. Her ability to look at a person or situation and make it a tabloid story gave me insight in how they look at people differently and bend the truth a little.
My only complaint is the story seemed to drag along at first. But it picked up and built steam, right up to the finish. I wish that the hero and heroine hadn't spent so much time seeming to circle around one another. You knew they had the hots for one another and the reason for not having a relationship did not seem plausible to me. I also wish that Adam's mother was in the story more. Despite her vain and selfish character, she was a hoot. The other characters, from the neighbors across the road to the wrestling midget were one laugh after another. But overall, it was an good story that had me chuckling and wondering what would happen next.
For a book that gives you a laugh and a good romance, pick this one up.

Summary: She's done better.
Review: I enjoyed Truly, Madly Yours and it still rates as my favorite Rachel Gibson book. This one wasn't bad, but fell somewhat flat for me. For one thing the big city gal in the sticks thing has gotten a little old. While the characters (especially the boy) and plot were fine, my biggest problem was the humor. I realize humor is subjective. But in my opinion the humor here was a tad too forced and stale in too many places. The "wacky" headlines preceding each chapter grew tired. And that whole thing about the woman with the "man hands" was stolen straight from an old Seinfeld episode. I laughed when I saw that episode on TV, but seeing it rehashed here just didn't work for me. Also the reader can see that whole mountain oyster punchline coming from ten miles away. It was written as if the writer (as adult) discovered what mountain oysters were, but couldn't stop snickering about them (like a kid telling a new booger joke). And that ol' "bone phone" line was another thing snickered about way back in high school and college, but rehashed here like it's some new outrageously funny phrase. Rachel's okay, but she has been touted as the next Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I think not.

Summary: Rachel Gibson does it again
Review: I have been a big fan of Rachel Gibson and have thoroughly enjoyed all her books. With True Confessions, Ms. Gibson again demonstrates her fabulous talent for entertaining the reader with laughs as well as steamy love scenes. Her talent allows you to read and feel like the characters are real. It's definitely a one night read. Hope Spencer arrives in little Gospel, Idaho, in order to try to rejuvenate a slump in her magazine writing career, (if tabloids can really be categorized as magazines!!!). The town's hunk of a sheriff, Dylan Taber, a single father to seven year old son, Adam, is intrigued by the newcomer, and the attraction starts to become mutual. Throw in a number of local citizens, with their bizarre lifes and stories, a Hollywood actress, along with a stalking professional wrestling midget and the book because a hillarious and steamy roller coaster ride of pure reading fun. Rachel Gibson ranks among my favorite authors of Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Susan Howard and Julie Garwood. Don't deny yourself the pleasure of a great book, go out and buy it today, you won't be disappointed!

Summary: Fun, Fun, Fun
Review: I have read all of Rachel Gibson's books and this one is just as good as all the others. Hope and Dylan make a very believeable couple. Hope's move to Gospel is fun. I especially like the friendship with her neighbors. The twin boys are very true to small home towns and Dylan's boy and the rocks is precious. I like the fact that these are just small town people, not rich boy meets poor girl. Hope is normal, if tabloid writing is normal, but hey somebody does have to write that stuff....Dylan is the type of guy you like to see step up the task and be a good father. Even when it is very hard to do sometimes. The love scenes are great and fun. The ending is just perfect for the imagination. Not completely your run of the mill, tied all up in a bow ending. Great fun.

Summary: truly delicious
Review: I have read every book that Rachel Gibson has wrote. So, when I saw that "True Confessions" was being released in July, I was really excited. Hope Spencer is a tabloid reporter that moves to Gospel from L.A. Dylan Taber the local hunky sheriff eventually becomes her love interest. Until we get to that point the book is funny and I found myself smiling. Dylan's son Adam is a likeable kid and the residents of Gospel are so entertaing that I liked all the characters. This is not one of Rachel Gibson's best but she made me want to read about Hope and Dylan that once I started the book, I didn't put it done until I finished it.

Summary: Very Cute
Review: I have to confess this is my first Rachel Gibson book, and I am itching to go find the rest. Her ability to make and poke fun at certain things is remarkable. I truly liked how she brought a twist in the story and made things more clear. Overall, a great read. I certainly didn't want to put this down for a pesky phone call!

Summary: Fantastic!
Review: I LOVED this book! It was so wonderful that I read it in 2 days. I just didn't want to put it down until it was finished. From the very beginning I was pulled into this little town that reminded me of where I grew up and so eagerly left when I was able. Dylan Taber was an incredibly sexy main character and I was even falling for him. This is a fabulous book that I can't recommend enough!

Summary: Great Entertainment!
Review: I loved this book, I am an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction, so I couldn't give this a 5 star based on "all the books I've read" but this is a great entertainment book. The romance was fun, and I laughed my way all the way through this book. Rachel Gibson is witty and very, very funny! This book is fun for anyone, but if you have ever lived in a small town, or especially a small town in Idaho (which I have), you will find this book a great read!
