Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: ENTERTAINING Review: I HAVE READ MANY ROMANCES BOOKS, AND THE BRIDE IS ONE OF THE BEST IN WHAT CONCERNS TO THE STORY'S PLOT. THOUGH IT IS NOT VERY ORIGINAL BECAUSE YOU CAN IMAGINE HOW THE STORY IS GOING TO DEVELOPE AND THE CHARACTERS ARE A NOT DRAWN THAT GOOD. JAMIE IS KIND OF MEDIEVAL ELISABETH TAYLOR, AND HE IS THIS BIG AND HANDSOME MAN THAT (I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THEY EAT IN MEDIEVAL SCOTLAND TO GET THAT TALL MEN), ANYWAYS, IT FULLFILLS OF THE TOPICS OF CLASSICAL ROMANCE, HANDSOME, TALL SCOTISH LAIRD VERSUS PETITE, EXOTIC ( WITH VIOLET EYES) ENGLISH TEENAGER, EHEM FOR A RAINY DAY IS PERFECT
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Not That Great Review: I've read a few stories by Julie Garwood and they're good, but they have never struck me as being as great as everyone raves they are.For starters, the heroines are always similiar in appearance and attitudes. They are always described as being innocent, illogical, gentle and having tender feelings. The Bride is no exception. Julie Garwood needs to work on her characters because there is a big difference between being innocent and being dumb. Every time the heroine said something stupid or something that didn't make sense, the hero would say, "You're such an innocent." The heroes are all described as being gruff. It seems like everything the hero says is said "gruffly" and with a scowl on his face. It seems like he's not doing much else besides scowling, saying things gruffly, and giving out curt orders throughout the whole story. I gave The Bride three stars because the story is entertaining and funny. For Julie Garwood fans who love her work, you will like this one. It is very typical Julie Garwood.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: DELICIOUSLY ROMANTIC BOOK ,MUST READ Review: This book by Julie Garwood is probably one of the best romantic novels ever written ,at least I think so .It is a roller coaster ride with a great storyline :elements of mystery ,romance and humour sucessfully knit together and the sex scenes are HOT .The charachters Alec and Jamie are two absolutely adorable people.Alec Kincaid is a Scottish laird who by the edict of the king should take an English bride . He chooses Jamie a violet eyed , fiesty beauty . Both vow not to fall in love with the other; Alec because he does not beleive in love and Jamie because she is angry at Alec who to her seems like a ruthless person who took her away from her home . However there is an intense attraction between them which slowly blossoms into a love that will change their lives and conquer all. It is a wonderful book and i assure you that by the end of the book you will be in love the charachters and they will stay with you . So take my advice and be prepared for the ride of your life ...
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Not up there...but... Review: I thought it was well-written. I didn't really find any climax in the story since I kind of knew who was behind the murder. I found it quite amusing whenever Jamie kept repeating Alec's responce to her. There wasn't anything wrong with the book but after reading Honor's Splendour, this book fell way behind. Julie Garwood is a wonderful romance writer, she doesn't describe or have a long battle scene like other writers, I love that very much.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Romance doesn't get any better than this! Review: If you've never read a romance novel, this is the place to start. Julie Garwood is a master of her craft, and "The Bride" is one of her masterpieces. Think that all heroines in romance novels are sniveling ninnies? Think again. Jamie Kincaid is cabable, generous, funny and charming - and not in an annoying way. You'll love the way she integrates herself into her husband's foreign Scottish household, not to mention the way she captivates his attentions. Alex is the perfect example of the perfect leading man - a sexy, handsome alpha male waiting to share his life with the right woman. I know it's a cliche, but you will laugh and you will cry as you read this novel. I envy those of you who haven't read it yet. You're in for a real treat.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Bride Review: The characters in this book are so well developed and interesting you are pulled in to this story and you never want to leave. I loved the intrigue of having a stalker/murderer and the thoughts of this person without the identity was exciting. Alec was pure studliness and Jamie was so beautiful and brave. This is a wonderful book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: THE BRIDE Review: First let me say that I am an avid fan of Julie Garwood. Whenever I need to "make my way to a better place", I pick up one of her books - even if it means re-reading one! My favorite titles from Ms. Garwood are Honor's Splendour and The Bride. I find that I can re-read them again and again. I thought The Bride was well written and contained a little mystery as well. It's always nice to have a strong man...BUT have the "hero" of the story be a woman. I don't know how many times I've read The Bride, but I do know I'll read it again!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I loved it Review: It was such a great book, my best friend let me borrow it, and I'm ready to steal it from her yet again. Jamie & Alec were a hilarious couple. I couldnt help but turn page after page to see what was going to happen next! It rocked!
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: A big disappointment Review: I have read books of Judith McNaught and Jude Deveraux and loved them. I noticed a lot of readers mentioning julie Garwood and decided to give it a try. I could not believe that the book I am currently reading -The Bride- is considered such an awsome book from so many readers. Am I the only one having problem with Jamie? The girl is the embodiness of stupidity. How can a girl that looked after her family for years be so silly and jump to ridiculous conclusions where her husbant is concerned? I am in the middle of the book and I don't think I'll have the courage to finish it. Alec is ok, but Jamie is the worst heroine I've met in a book. Extremely clever in everything and exrtemely "naive" when it comes to understanding her husbant? Something does not fit right here...
