Rating: Summary: selfish lover Review: This book was a good book. The title says it all,Between Lovers. Can this confuse lady make her mind up who she really wants to be with, or will they make it up for her? It has excitement to it, and its a eye opener. This book held my attention throughout the entire story. Thanks EJD
Rating: Summary: Never Read A Book Like It! Review: This book is incredible. Nicole is a playa. She has ol' Dude and Ayana. Nicole loves both and can't choose. It's not like they don't know that she is seeing another person. Ayana and ol' Dude are just hoping that she gets over the other person. Ol' Dude was Nicole's fiance, but she walked out on him. They have been going out for 7 years. I mean, why is he wasting his time with her. Ayana is willing to do anything to please Nicole, including meeting Ol'Dude. Everything gets confusing for all of the main characters. They are all trying to find themselves. Nicole is trying to please both of her lovers which is really stressful for her. There are also many sex scenes. The book starts off in a sex scene. This is very interesting. Happy reading!!
Rating: Summary: Spicy, Yet Different Review: I own every one of Eric Jerome Dickey's novels and I've enjoyed them all. But I have to say that I enjoyed this one the least. The narrative is less straight forward than in his other novels -and I guess that's okay. But what I didn't like was that the novel seemed bogged down with sexuality. After awhile, I found myself skipping over the sex parts to figure out exactly WHY Nicole was so darned lovable - especially why was she lovable enough to string two people along for the better part of a decade. Her character seemed selfish and flighty to me. The point is, in reading this book, I felt that EJD was trying to explain something...but I never figured out what that something was. If you like spicy, mysterious erotica, then buy this book. If you want a good Af-Am fiction book about adult romance and friendship, read any one of his other books. He's still a great writer - but this particular book is a bit more deviant than I anticipated.
Rating: Summary: Mr. No-Name finally came to his senses Review: This was a good book. I could not put it down. I just bought this book today and I am finished already. That is just how interesting this book was. I didn't even realize that he was nameless until about chapter 27. I was like, "Hold up. Let me go back and check." There was no name. True, from what other reviewers have said, his name might as well have been spineless punk, but that's what love does to you sometimes. At least what he thought was love. Even though the fact that he had no name was messing with me, I still loved it. Nicole was, ooh, getting on my last nerves until something happened. Then I was thinking, "Oh, no. Don't let her go." That's how good this book is, again. At one point, you want to push Ayanna of a bridge, then you're saying, "She's cool." I don't want to give away the ending, but trust me- this book is well worth your money.
Rating: Summary: Not the EJD I Know and Love Review: Listen people I am a true EJD fan, no questions asked, but I was totally disappointed with this book. The actual story line itself was great( I thought) but the characters were very weak. The male character was so LAME! I have never encountered a man who would deal with a woman with selfish and immature ways. The fact that she was bisexual was ok with me, but her selfishness and her overly dramatic reactions were absurd. I will continue to support my man EJD, I would just pefer he stick with his orginal style of writing. The details of all the running these two characters did was ridiculous, I wish he would have added that much more detail into the plot and the ending of the book. Once I start a book I have to finish it, but this one I really procrasinated on. Better luck next time Eric!
Rating: Summary: A Crying Shame Review: I may not be the best to review this book, because I only got in four pages before I put it down, never to let it grace my eyes again. I can say from those four pages, that I absolutely hated what I read. The lead male was the worst kind of man I could ever imagine. Who would want a man like that? To borrow from another reviewers words, he was a straight up punk, and I didn't want to lower my opinion of him any more by reading the rest. I really couldn't read the rest, I tried to force myself to read more, but it just wasn't happening. I was sadly disappointed in EDJ. Thank God I didn't buy this book. I learned my lesson from Liar's Game.
Rating: Summary: Not the average book Review: I have read every book written by Eric Jerome Dickey and I love his work. However, in this past book, Between Lovers, something was not the same. I was not able to get into the story like I always do with his other books. I was just reading the book, not because I was interestes, but to see if it was going to get better. Compared to all of his book prior to this one, I wold say this one should be ranked on the bottom.
Rating: Summary: DONT WASTE TIME READING THIS BOOK Review: This book was horrible the plot is disgusting and weird and my sister and I both read this book and was very angry at the work from Mr. Dickey we expected more. At then at the end of the book if you don't stop in the middle cause it's so bad that you can't go on reading the book yyoure thinking i know i didn't just read this book for this to happen. I guess it just wasn't my type of a book.
Rating: Summary: EJD has done it again Review: I am a 24 year old white female and I love EJD's books "Milk in My Coffee" so far is my favorite. I have african-american friends and caucasion friends we all pass EJD's books around. His words are so captivating. I have read books by EJD in 4 hours straight, I just couldn't put the book down. 'Between Lovers" is awesome. Eric Jerome Dickey has to be the best male author out there today. Any new book he releases I am right there behind it, buying it. Keep on keepin' you'll will love not only "Between Lovers" but all of EJD's books.
Rating: Summary: Bashment....three way style Review: I am a regular reader of EJD books and this one had me kind of apprehensive at first but with reading, the book had me captivated and cursing at the necessary parts! Telling the characters what they should do and how they should behave. I must admit that the book has a lot of turns and it has you turning the page waiting to see how manipulative Nicole is and how *bewitched* a person can be when in love, to the extent of giving up your personal believes all for Love...brilliant book if only I do say so.
