Rating: Summary: A book that will make you sigh Review: Believe in love at first sight, and enduring soulmates? Then this one is for you. Here's a story about two people who travel long and far to find each other again and while it may strain the imagination a bit, each of the supporting characters lends real credibility to the lead character's storyline.
Rating: Summary: A witty, fun page-turner! Review: I should have known when I picked up this book that I'd be up all night reading it. I read Julia Quinn's last book when it came out last summer, and couldn't put it down. I ended up reading all night because I HAD to know what happened next. Same thing with AN OFFER FROM A GENTLEMAN. I started reading at 11 pm, and happily finished around four in the morning (even though I had to get up for work two hours later!) JQ has a catchy, fun writing style, and the main characters of this book, Sophie Beckett and Benedict Bridgerton, are engaging from page one. The plot is a fun twist on Cinderella, and is full of surprises. Very highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: My favorite of the Bridgertons (so far) Review: Yes, I know it starts out as the classic Cinderella story, but with a twist. I've been reading historical romances for (gulp!) 20 years now, and seldom has one actually brought me to tears, but this one did. As always, Ms. Quinn's writing is excellent, her characters strong, the dialogue witty. Can't wait for the next story (Colin?)!
Rating: Summary: An Offer From a Gentleman Review: This book was good. Its not as good as The Duke and I, but it was still a great read. It will be on my "Hands Off" shelf. If you love JQ then you will love this book. : )
Rating: Summary: Another good read from Ms. Quinn Review: I really enjoyed this book, as well as the others in the Bridgerton Series. All are well written, witty, and keep you amused throughout--from beginning to end. I must admit I have my suspicions as to whom Lady Whistledown is--Ms. Quinn promises to reveal that lady's identity at a future date. A very lighthearted and heartwarming romantic series. Will she write about every one of the 8 Bridgertons? I suppose I will have to be patient and find out!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Romance! Review: I have to tell you that this story was fantastic! I actually couldn't stop reading it.Sophie was inchanting and Benedict was so aluring!!You have to read this book if you like romance, comedy, sexy love scenes, and a lot of fun!!Julia, you have really done this romance world a great deal of good!!God Bless!!
Rating: Summary: Very entertaining and funny!! Review: I had been anticipating the next book in the Bridgerton series and, to be honest, did not have very high expectations for it. It has been my experience that by the time an author gets to the third book in a series, it is basically a repetition of the first couple of books. However, I was delightfully surprised when I finished reading "An Offer from a Gentleman". It was a quirky book with fun and engaging characters. Benedict proved to be as devilish and comical as his brother and sister!I highly recommend this book! The only reason I did not give it the full 5 stars is because I felt the ending was just too rushed. Nonetheless, I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series about Colin...at least I hope its about him :O)
Rating: Summary: Not Just Another Cinderella Review: I love the Bridgerton family. The first 2 books of this series, The Duke and I and The Viscount Who Loves Me were excellent. This book is no different. It is filled with love and humor and an excellent storyline with witty dialogue. Benedict and Sophie are well rounded characters and the inclusion of the entire Bridgerton family adds many delightful scenes. If I hadn't completely enjoyed the first part of the book, I would have still given it 5 stars just for the scene in the jail. I can't wait for Colin and Penelope's story. Another winner from my favorite author JQ.
Rating: Summary: Not has engrossing has the first 2.. but still pretty good. Review: I didn't find myself supporting the main characters as much as I did with "Viscount" and "Duke" I thought them pretty tame. I have to admit the cinderalla spin had me worried on first with visions of oh oh it's the pumpkin, slipper where is my princess routine. But Quinn saved herself and all in all it was pretty entertaining. Okay so does anyone want to guess who Lady Whistledown is? I have to admit her articles seem pretty entertaining this woman would put the "Enquirer" to shame. And the second characters.. Penelope Featherington caught my attention in her ghastly outfit and overbearing mother than did Sophie with the glittering gown. And I have to agree with my fellow reviewer that Collin's big mouth made me laugh outright. Well I should stop writing it's time to clean "my cottage" :-)
Rating: Summary: A book with everything!! Review: My favorite romance I've read in a long time!! All the good elements - the wicked sister, the "prince" who doesn't recognize his beloved, the heroine who needs to nurse the hero back to health...I've liked all of Julia Quinn's books, but this is my favorite!!
