Summary: Another Winner in the Bridgerton Series
Review: This is the story of the "#2 Brother" as he hates to be called. It starts out with a cinderella story of a "bastards" child being used as the servent girl for a "wickid stepmother". But as expected everyone actually loves Sophie. She is mezmarized by Bedadict at the annual Masquarade Ball the Bridgerton family throws.

Then she is rescued from a tense situation by Benadict and he starts to fall for her. But, will he ever figure out she is the same woman as his woman in silver, and will he figure it out in time?

Another winner from Julia Quinn.

Summary: Not the best
Review: I loved the 1st two Bridgerton books. In Julia Quinns' Bridgerton Books the heroinens are not the faboulously beautiful
women written in most of the other romance novels. They are pretty, witty, and intelligent. Thank you, Julia Quinn! In other words they are spinsters(women who haven't married and are not thought very likely to do so), this book was a fun , light read , but it was not as good as the first two brdgerton books.
Both Sophie and Benedict seem to go around in circles. She falls in love with him at a ball. He fall in love with her. they meet again later he doesn't reconize her because he never got to see her face. She's a servant and he's not so naturally all he can ever do is make her his mistriss. Then suddenly he wants to marry her.
It would have a better book if Julia had instead had them recognize each other earlier on and had Benedict help her in regards with the situation with her family. It would have been more interestin if the book had revolved more around Sophie family, tossing in some action, and secrets revealed.

Summary: LACKED THE SPARK
Review: I enjoyed the first two books in the series but I didn't like this one quite as much. However, it is still a good read (more a 3.5 than a straight 3). I agree with some reviewers that Benedict wasn't really a three-dimensional character. He hasn't been made very interesting when introduced in the first two instalments and at the end of this book I didn't feel I know him any better (one reviewer labelled him "dull" and I am afraid he is exactly that). Sophie was an all right heroine and I felt for her yet their romance failed to engage my emotions, something was missing (I still try to figure out what it was exactly). The rest of the book's cast and Benedicts/ Sophies interactions with them made a bit up for this and kept the story from becoming a bore. Probably, I have been spoilt prior to reading this book because I had the pleasure to read two excellent/ perfect romances in a row before starting _Offer_ (One of them was Loretta Chases brilliant _Lord of Scoundrels_, THAT gives a new definition for the word "witty").

One comment for people who value historical accuracy in their Regency set Romances. There is (almost) none in Ms Quinns books and it wouldn't fit anyway. Just lean back and enjoy a delightful, funny and sweet Romance.

Currently, I am eagerly awaiting (isn't everybody?) the release of Colins (*sigh*) and Penelopes story. Both were so well presented in the previous books that I already like them very much. When Ms Quinn doesn't let us down we are in for a great read.

Summary: WOW THIS IS THE 1ST JULIA QUINN BOOK I HAVW READ
Review: I can't wait to go back and read the other two Bridgerton books. I also can't wait until July to read Colin's story. There is one thing I must warn you, make sure you have a enough time to sit and read this book in one sitting. It is nearly impossible to put down. her characters are adorable. Her writing style reminds me of Patricia Cabot and Cathy Maxwell which I also love.

Summary: A Regency Cinderella with spirit
Review: Sophie Beckett's childhood mirrors Cinderella's. She is the bastard daughter of an earl who refuses to recognize her as anything other than his ward. When her father marries then dies, Sophie is faced with the addition of an evil stepmother and two wicked stepsisters who immediately turn her into the tortured maid.

While there is no fairy godmother bibbitty-bobbitty booing in this romance novel, Sophie does get the opportunity to attend a masquerade ball, and there she meets her prince -- a wealthy member of the ton named Benedict Bridgerton. Thankfully, the story veers off into a more modern direction at this point, and becomes a fabulous tale of love lost and found.

For one who is treated so cruelly, Sophie is no victim. She's an independent, intelligent girl who makes her way in the world using only her wits and sensible nature. Though she immediately falls in love with Benedict at the ball, she's levelheaded enough to know they could never be together due to their social ranks, and does what she can to avoid him. This task becomes quite a bit more difficult when he saves her from the evil clutches of her new employer, and then places her in his mother's home because he's simply unable to let her out of his sight.

Two years after that ball, Benedict is still haunted by the image of that masked woman. But when he is unable to find her, he resigns himself to a life of boring parties and continuous, familial matchmaking. Then he meets Sophie, and suddenly his world is filled with joy and frustration. He offers to make her his mistress, and cannot understand why she refuses.

Julia Quinn knows how to build a romance between two characters from different backgrounds. She creates situations where their worlds collide and then lets nature take its course. Her writing is clean and angel food cake light, and her dialogue skills are flawless. Each conversation embodies the moment, whether it includes witty repartee, dripping venom or lusty pronouncements. The only downside to this book is the ending; after such an intriguing romance, I was sorry to see the prose fall into soap opera melodrama.

"An Offer From a Gentleman," a Cinderella tale told in Regency fashion, will fill any romantic reader's head with images of masked strangers and love conquering all.

Summary: Definately Worth Reading!!!!
Review: I've never read a novel by Julia Quinn, until this one. I absolutely loved it!! I'm already planning on reading the first two books in the series(as well as some of her other books), and I can't wait to get the next one when it comes out in July! Her books are definately going to be on my "to read list."

Summary: fun, funny
Review: My first Julia Quinn was the wonderful Duke and I. This book is in the Bridgerton family series and it is wonderful. What I like most about Julia Quinn is the humor between the characters.

Summary: Denying the offer
Review: This book left me completely cold. I didn't care for the way the "gentleman" treated poor Sophie and I thought there was entirely no chemistry between them, very unusual for one of my favorite authors. When will these heroes learn that when a woman says no, she means no!
I was so disappointed, in fact, that I returned the book after I finished reading it, something that I never do!
Of course, I am greatly looking forward to Julia Quinn's next book in the series and I sincerely doubt she will let me down again.

Summary: Cinderella JQ Style
Review: This is Benedict's story. You have to love those Bridgertons!

Sophie is the daughter of an Earl but when he dies her stepmother who has always hated her relegates her to the role of servant. Well what Cinderella story would be complete without the Ball or the Prince?

Sophie sneaks into the Bridgerton's masked ball and right into Benedicts arms. Spending the evening dancing in his strong and handsome arms she is in heaven. Benedict can't believe how he is drawn to the masked beauty and does all he can once she vanishes to find her. She is going to be his wife.

This book will not let you down. Full of the wonderful and quirky characters, humor, and romance that are trademark JQ. You will not want to miss this one.

Summary: Cinderella Revisited
Review: Cinderella without the fairy godmother. I enjoyed this book, there were moments of levity and sensuality all in good measure. It was a quick read, and you felt for Sophie. You also fell in love with the Bridgertons.
