Summary: Why don't I get any offers?
Review: I have to whine, truly I do, when I see a fairy tale come to life before my very eyes. This is a beautiful story. In most books you have the unfortunate sags in the storytelling where you know the author had difficulty writing and few ideas on where to go with the story, but this one had a nice pace and no sags that I recall.

Sophie Beckett is the Regency equivalent of Cinderella, minus the loving papa, and Benedict is the Prince Charming. Though, charming may be too strong a word for it, especially when you take it into consideration that he basically kidnaps her and trots her off to London, where he continually tries, against her wishes, to get her to become his mistress.

He instead puts her in the employ of his mother. And he takes every opportunity to pop out of nowhere and surprise her with his presence, and a few clandestine kisses. She tries to fight her attraction, and he tries to get her to stop fighting. He can't marry her however, because he's still waiting for the woman in silver from the masquerede ball (unfortunately that woman is also Sophie).

But, of course, everything works out in the end. This is a fairy tale/romance after all.

I thought AOFAG was a charming book and a definite must read for anyone who likes light hearted, humorous romances.

Summary: A well-written, utterly romantic Cinderella story
Review: Ah, those Bridgerton brothers . . . They do make a girl's heart go pitty-pat, and Sophie Beckett's heart is no different. Escaping to the masquerade ball of the season, she experiences a brief moment of freedom and happiness, two things that are sadly lacking in her life as servant to her horrible stepmother. She is also lucky enough to spend some time in the arms of Benedict Bridgerton, a man as gorgeous and sexy as his brothers. But all good things must come to an end, and when midnight hits, Sophie disappears, although she'll never forget her magical night with Benedict.

And he won't forget her, either. Captivated by the mysterious beauty, he sets out to find her, never dreaming that she was so close by, or in such a dreadful situation. True love triumphs in the end, but it is the journey there that is so enjoyable.

As with all her books, Julia Quinn has created characters that are both interesting and amusing. The stories are light-hearted and filled with love, passion, and above all else, romance. One can only hope there will be a story for each member of the astonishingly large Brigderton family, for they are sure to all be as wonderful as the first three.

Summary: An adorable romance
Review: I've just started reading Julia Quinn, and this is one of the second novels by her that I've read. She's a talented romance novel writer who seems to know how to weave a romance rather than just string together sex scenes as, unfortunately, many other contemporary romance novelists do. This novel is a contemporary Cinderella story, of which, at heart, all of us true romantics never tire. I thought this one had a bit more depth than "How to Marry a Marquis" (the first novel I read by her).
I think this one is definitely worth reading

Summary: A Well-written Adult version of Cinderella
Review: "An Offer" being my first novel from Julia Quinn was impressively well written and had a whole lot more going for it than just a romance novel...this story had more depth than many Romance novels which gave it a distinctive edge above other books in this genre...I would have preferred a little more passion in the physical sense but I was nevertheless touched and riveted by this story...Good place to start reading Julia Quinn if any! Keep up the good work, Ms Quinn but please add a little more steamy scenes!

Summary: Part of a Great Series
Review: In this book, Julia has Benedick Bridgerton falling in love instantly with an earl's bastard (Sophia). Again the witty dialogue and entrancing sensuality that embodies Julia Quinn's writing is evident. The book shows how deft she is at weaving an enchanting plot to capture the reader. Much like a Cinderella rewrite and very similar to "Ever After," the Drew Barrymore film, readers find this book a bit simple after the first two in the Bridgerton series. Favorite characters from the other books are back and trying to help out any way they can. Out of all four of the Bridgerton books, it is the only one that really doesn't stand out as a true gem for the bookshelf. However, you will want to own it for the simple sake that it is indeed the third book in the Bridgerton series. For that reason alone, you should buy it and for a more than comical scene that occurs at the end with Violet Bridgerton showing why she made such a great Viscountess in her day.

Summary: Cindy Gets a Makeover
Review: This was a fabulous book. I picked it up on a whim at my RWA chapter's meeting three days ago. Then I made the mistake of opening the book up! Uh oh! I was mesmerized. The Bridgertons are a family I look forward to reading more about. I have my suspicions about Lady Whistledown and can't wait to see if I am right! Thank you to Julia Quinn for a very entertaining read. Sophie and Benedict had my heart from the start and never let go!

Summary: Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!
Review: This was a great re-telling of the Cinderella fairy tale. I loved the heroine and the hero. Benedict is sexy as hell, (but the drawing at the front is not too good, so he kinda looks disfigured there). The Brigerton family is fab also. I loved how Sophie stuck to her morals, almost all the time. It was so adorable how they fall in love with each other all over again. I loved the fact that they showed their lives after seven years for an update.

Summary: I do like this book but....
Review: Yes, I really do like her writting style, especially the prologue. I was captivated throughout the book only because of her writting style and not because of the plot like I normally would with other romance books. I also like the attitude of the heroine. She is so confident (in her own term), down to earth, realistic and lovely.

The only irritation I got from the book is the sound "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh" and "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh" when Benedict and Sophie made love. It wasn't supposed to be there, right?? It seems to be the sound people often make when they have their first sexual encounter or when they were in high school. It sounds ridiculous to me, just the soft moan or whispers of each other's names would do. It just doesn't get along very well with the hero and the heroine and the mood of their love-making.

Summary: where was the gentleman in this story?
Review: This book was a severe disappointment, especially since J. Quinn is one of my favorite authors. The whole problem for me stems from the 'hero'. Basically, he treats the heroine like dirt for 90% of the story. After 2 other books, I feel well-acquainted with the Bridgerton family, and I think it is fair to say that Quinn intends to present them as "good" people. I find it hard to believe that a person with even a modicum of goodness would treat anyone (even a servant) with the appalling lack of respect that Benedict shows Sophie. I would recommend that any reader skip this one (especially if you like the other Bridgertons) and move on to Colin's book.

Summary: Very Good...
Review: This 3rd installment of the Bridgerton series is not quite as
enjoyable as the first two books, but it is still quite
charming. I would recommend the entire series to anyone who
enjoys a sweet, witty romance. Perhaps the best scene in this
book, however, deals with Colin Bridgerton and poor Penelope
Featherington. I can't wait to read their story and see how
Colin makes up for his thoughtlessness.
The Bridgerton series is a must!!
