Summary: COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!!!!!
Review: I just started reading Julia Quinn and am absolutely hooked on the humor and the wit in her novels. This book is no exception. I was actually laughing out loud which is pretty rare ( for a romance novel ). I fell in love with the characters and did not want the book to end. This one will stay on my shelf of 'must keeps'.

Summary: Julia Quinn at her best...
Review: "An Offer from a Gentleman" is truly a 5+ star novel. It's apparent from the first few pages that this a retelling of the Cinderella story, and at first I thought 'how cute." But this book is classic Julia Quinn, with a strong, sexy hero capable of love (don't you get tired of men who are so incomplete they "can't" know true love?), and an intelligent heroine who knows herself and has the strength of character to follow her principals.

Mix in the wonderful Bridgerton family and Ms. Quinn's famous humor, and you have a "stay-up-all-night-to-finish" romance of endearing charm.

Summary: A wonderful story
Review: The Bridgerton masquerade party is the hottest ticket in London during the 1815 season. Desperately wanting to attend, Sophie Becket, illegitimate daughter of a deceased earl, knows that her hateful stepmother Araminta would never allow a "servant" like her to attend. Unable to resist, Sophie serendipitously dons a costume without the consent of Araminta. At the gala event, Sophie enjoys herself especially after meeting co-host Benedict Bridgerton, but Araminta learns of her deception and throws her stepdaughter out of the house.

Three years later, Sophie works as a maid struggling to keep her virtue until Benedict sees her. Though he does not recognize her as the woman he has dreamed of since the bash of 1815, Benedict obtains a job for her in his mother's household. He tries to persuade her to become his mistress, but though she loves her princely savior, she rejects his offer. However, he soon realizes he wants more from his beloved.

AN OFFER FROM A GENTLEMAN is an entertaining Regency romantic rendition of Cinderella that actually starts slow, but accelerates to SST sped once the plot veers from the fairy tale. The story line turns quite entertaining as a romantic romp with a confused Benedict struggling with loving Sophie and the mystery woman from his ball. Sophie starts off as a wimp, but once she is thrown out of the house, she becomes an intrepid lead protagonist who provides the perfect partner to the handsome Benedict. Julia Quinn offers sub-genre fans an entertaining novel.

Summary: Another Winner from Quinn
Review: All I can say at this moment is WOW. I personally waited for this book for months and am stunned that is turned out as fabulously as I expected.

Sophie Beckett, the illegitimate daughter of a deceased earl, has the chance of a lifetime to sneak out to a masquerade ball for one evening. While there, she meets Benedict Bridgerton and it's love at first sight. However, their time runs out before Benedict can learn anything about this mystery woman.

Now they have met again, though Sophie remains unrecognized to Benedict, and their love begins to bloom anew. Alas, Sophie is no longer the mystery woman of the ball, but only a servant. Obviously unsuitable for Benedict to marry. Not to mention the complication of an evil stepmother thrown into the equation. Will Benedict and Sophie decide to throw convention to the wind? What will happen when Benedict finds his mystery woman is Sophie? Are true love and happiness in their future? (Ok, that was a stupid question because this is a romance novel.)

This novel was well written and fun. The Bridgertons are, of course, all adored characters, and Sophie was just perfect. She was able to see Benedict in a unique way that nobody else had before and was kind, gentle, and loving. Also, her evil stepmother and stepsister were really evil, and entirely detestable. There's nothing like a great villain. Quinn's tale was filled with humor and love, a great Cinderella story plot, and amazing characters. Just in case you do not know, The Duke and I and The Viscount Who Loved Me are the first two books in the series. I recommend this highly and look forward to the next. Happy Reading!

Summary: A great book!!
Review: I loved this book! I thought "The Viscount Who Loved Me" was really good already and that it couldn't possibly get any better, but boy was I wrong!! This is a wonderful book that gives the reader more insight onto the second brother of the Bridgerton family who was previously shrouded in much mystery. In this novel, you get to see Benedict become a "prince" who rescues the "damsel in distress". It is a wonderful story that combines the story of cinderella into a story about the second Bridgerton brother. An excellent read for everyone who loved the previous books about the Bridgerton siblings! A must read for all of those who love Julia Quinn!

Summary: Charming Read
Review: I wasn't thrilled about the whole cinderella thing and the heroine was a bit naive. I loved the hero because he was so much different than your usual brooding male. I really like that he owned up to his feelings right away and it didn't have to be forced out of him until the end of the book. He was actually a good guy with real feelings and a heart.

Summary: This book deserves more than 5 starts!!!
Review: This has to be one of the best romances I have ever read, and let me tell you, I have read plenty. I honestly could not put it down. "Offer From A Gentleman" was the book that first introduced me to Julia Quinn and her other stories. It's been a few years since this book came out, but let me tell you, I still can't stop reading it over and over again.

I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance and a good Cinderella story. This is a true reflection of Julia Quinn's work.

Summary: Good, but not great
Review: This story was entertaining, and the characters were well-developed, but this book was a Cinderella rip off. This book was my first exposure to Julia Quinn and I enjoyed it but cannot say that I loved it. I will still give this author more of a chance because it was good enough to see what else she has out there.

If you're looking for a romantic novel that is very original and terribly witty I do not recommend this book, however if you're just looking for a light and easy read you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Wonderfully Romantic
Review: I'm an avid Julia Quinn reader, own every romance she's published thus far, and this one still gets my vote as one of her best. A classic Cinderella story with a Julie Q. twist.

Benedict Bridgerton is the second Bridgerton male; Sofia "Sofie" Beckett is the despised illegitimate of the late Earl of Penwood. Benedict has had life's every comfort and was surrounded by a loving family; Sofie was ignored and locked in a closet to polish shoes. They meet at a magical masquerade ball and sparks fly. Benedict falls like a rock. But at the stroke of twelve, Sophie disappears from his life, and Benedict searches for the woman he only knows as Her. By some strange turn of chance, they meet years later and again sparks fly. And although Benedict doesn't recognize the woman from the masquerade in the skinny little housemaid he has rescued, he can't deny the attraction between himself and Sofie nor can he deny the guilt he feels for falling for someone other than Her.

Being that this is a romance, it has a predictable ending. But the ending isn't the part that matters (although it is a splendid one, indeed!). It's the getting there. I've read this story over and over again, and I love it more each time I do. A surefire hit, Ms. Quinn. Bravo!

Summary: Very good read
Review: Once again Julia Quinn writes a lovely romance with a lot of witty dialogue (which I love about this author) with wonderful detail on the characters. Loved this one.
