Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Not a keeper.... Review: Did you ever read a book where the author seems to run out of plot and substitutes sex? Which is fine, if you're in the mood for repetetive sex, but not fine if you're in the mood for plot? Kleypas can and has done better. There is little character development and the plot goes nowhere.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Suddenly Kleypas! Review: Have never been a big fan of historical romance and had most defintely never heard of Lis Kleypas before. But a newsletter I received spoke so well of he new book "Suddenly You" that I broke down and bought it, I am very happy to say. What I enjoyed most about this extremely well-written book besides the highly sensual love story was the fact that the heroine and hero were total grown-ups. Smart, witty, expressive, respectful of each other, tuned into each other. I read the book in about a day. My only regret was that the book ended. Would have been okay with me had it gone on for another hundred pages. The lead characters were that likeable.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Expected Better! Review: While this book was good it wasn't one of Kleypas's better books. I also got sick of reading how old, chubby and mature Amanda was and it was hammered in even more by making Jack younger. There were many inconsistencies in logic within the book but I did enjoy the emotions that were generated between Amanda and Jack. It was also quite sensual but to me it seemed that it was a relationship between a ... younger man and a ... frustrated older woman. I adored Jack but he I think my adoration existed because he reminded me of Derek in "Dreaming of You" whom I love. For a first time reader of Kleypas, this was a great book but for an avid reader of hers it was decent.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Terrific!! Review: I'm a longtime romance reader, and I've been a Lisa Kleypas fan for awhile. I find that, unlike with many long-time authors, each new book from her gets better and better. Suddenly You is my new favorite (replacing Where Dreams Begin by a smidge). A fresh plotline, well-developed characters, and a realistic resolution are the things that stood out most for me. I have come to expect those things from Lisa's work, but this one went to a new level. Kudos and thank you! When's the next one due?????
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Another Wonder by Lisa Kleypas Review: I just adored this book and could hardly put it down. I've loved every book by Lisa Kleypas, and as with every other story, I loved her lead characters, Amanda and Jack, found them perfect for each other, snuck ahead to the end (as I have the bad habit of doing) just to make sure everything would work out, then continued reading this delightful story. No point in describing it because all of the rave reviews ahead of me have already done so quite well. How one person found it boring, I can't even imagine. Lisa is an excellent writer in every way. This one is most definitely a keeper with just the right amount of romance, humor, and sizzling sex scenes. Buy it and you won't be sorry!
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Very disappointed Review: I cannot believe that I disagree with all the other reviews. I have read all of Lisa's books and I was particularly disappointed in this one. If she said one more time about how plain and chubby Amanda thought she was, I felt like pulling my hair out. Miss Kleypas' older novels such as Love Come To Me or Where Passion Leads are much better. I found this book totally boring, sorry guys, and could just about give it 2 stars.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This one is a keeper Review: This is the first Lisa Kleypas book I've read. If this is what I can expect in other books - then I'm hooked. Amanda is a strong character who knows what she wants, and it's not be left a virgin by her 30th birthday. She meets Jack, who's not who she thinks he is but the romance that begins between them is GREAT. The characters are believable, the story is fast moving - I couldn't put it down and finished it in one day! This is one book I'll look forward to going back and reading again someday. A fantastic read - and a really great ending.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Suddenly Sizzling Review: What a find Lisa Kleypas has been! Since I discovered her books last year, I have read nearly all of them. "Suddenly You" may be her best work yet! The tight plot, already described by other reviewers, moves beautifully from scene to scene, the character development of both Amanda and Jack is outstanding, and the love scenes absolutely sizzle without being overdone. Lisa Kleypas has a rare quality to her writing - she balances character, humor, romance, love and plot on a fine line of intense drama, and satisfies on all counts. This is a keeper!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Suddenly Sexual Review: I adored this book. Amanda is fabulously independant for a woman of her time, and yet she still does ache for things that any woman would. While her sisters have husbands and families, she took care of their ailing parents until their deaths. Who wouldn't look for a release? She finds it in writing, feeling that she has no hope of getting married because she's not attractive. In comes Jack and after their first meeting, she has every right to curl up and die, but instead she takes him head on. Amanda attempts to dislike Jack, but he's irresistable. Not only is he independant, but he admires her beauty and intelligence. Now they both don't have the same ideals about everything, but they strike a compromise that I like. Humourous, steaming off the pages, and an excellent read for any good romantic.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A Good Read Review: I've always liked books by Lisa Kleypas because she has very imaginative storylines. I also like that the main characters are usually not aristocrats and the backdrop isn't the "ton." This story is no exception. I thought the pace was a little slower while the climax and resolution seemed a little rushed than in her other books. And the loves scenes had a bit more eroticism than her other books. I'd also recommend A Stranger in My Arms and Dreaming of You to anyone looking for more by Lisa Kleypas.
