Summary: Devoured in one Sitting!
Review: A poster to a book board I frequent suggested this author..and I randomly just picked one of her titles. I'm usually not a big romance fan..but every now and than...a good romance is needed. I finished the book in one night staying up much too late. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have to admit to skimming past some of the more intimate scenes towards the end though...wanting to just find out what happens.

Summary: Lots of incredible passion! you should read this book
Review: This was the 1st of Lisa Kleypas books that I have read. I could not put the book down. The characters were interesting and the story believable. the passion between the two main characters was igniting. I believe this was the most passionate book I have read to date. My only complaint is that the end of the book lingered before coming to a close. It felt like she was trying to stretch the book out before coming to an end.

Summary: Suddenly A Historical Fan
Review: I have never been a great reader of historical romances. However, I liked the description for this book from my Amazon newsletter. I enjoy books that have good dialogue, interesting scenarios/premises, and just generally everything that this book had going for it. The interactions between Jack and Amanda were nice. I liked the part where he called her a "little coward" and gathered her close. Since reading this book, I have purchased all of the others by Lisa Kleypas that are available and am seriously contemplating purchasing some of the out-of-print books. I can dig a historical if it is written this well, as some of them can be so unengaging. With that, here's one more for my list of favorite romance novelists.

Summary: Bold effort to titillate readers
Review: 30 year old spinster Amanda Briars hires a male prostitute to satisfy her birthday whims - only to find herself ensnared in a web of desire after meeting Jack Devlin - a notorious rake who is the icon of a publishing company. Billed as the most sensual romance of the year, SUDDENLY YOU by Lisa Kleypas starts out tantalizingly with a kinky feel as Amanda discovers her sensuality in herself with Jack. She is, however manacled by the confines of the society to continue the liaison - but when Jack threatens to publish her first novel The Unfinished Lady which may raise a scandal, she agrees to meet him and convince herself to publish the maiden effort. She finds dimension and nuances in Jack but his sordid past makes him an inferior match to Amanda - and she knows their affair could only be transient, until she finds herself pregnant... and their insouciance could no longer be feigned.

SUDDENLY YOU is definitely a scorching read with amorous foreplays and sexy bedroom romps - and Jack Devlin makes an irresistible hero who with his liberal mind, embraces the power of feminity and is a wonderful paragon of a affectionate husband. Lisa Kleypas may have injected her latest novel with blazing passion, but the emotional quotient flags - her ability to draw readers into heartfelt turmoils in her previous novels seemed incapacitated here.

Ms. Kleypas glosses the pages with a touch of humour and is deft at characterization - she portrays the languid mood with lazy sensuality and baroque atmosphere in passionate scenes. However, the dialogue and repartee is trite at times, and could be polished to heighten the romantic feel. SUDDENLY YOU marks her suddern bold effort to titillate readers and tempt their hearts - and perhaps with more emotions this novel could become more of a credible effort.

Summary: An Easy and Enjoyable Read
Review: I've never been an avid reader of romance novels but had read a review about this book which intrigued me. Facing a 14 hour flight to Europe I decided that this might be a good book to bring along, thinking that I would toss it when finished, HA! It turned out to be a very easy read which kept my attention. The description of the characters brought vivid images to my mind. I could almost feel the pain of the separation between the two characters and was overjoyed when they lived happily ever after. While this sounds like a cliche, the way this book was written made the story anything but. I'm hooked on the writings of Ms. Kleypas and can't wait to read more.

Summary: A lot of sexy scenes....
Review: the epitom of lisa kleypas is "dreaming of you" in which the characters make you cry...literally. i cried like hell! also, they were really hot like you could feel the tension. in ths new book by Lisa, we do get the sex and plenty of it, but it lacked the heart wrenching and gut wrenchng pain that we see in dreamng of you. if you want a hot book and pretty good plot then thi is it. i should of gave it three stars but i really liked the sexy scenes. very explicit and well done. i would prefer more tears when i read her next book...hopefully.

Summary: At a loss for words...
Review: I just finished reading this book and I'm stunned at how good it was! What an engrossing tale Kleypas tells in "Suddenly You." I'm not a romance novel reader and definitely not a historical reader, but this has definitely changed my mind. This book was comical, thrilling, exhilirating, and written with true substance and finesse. Kleypas has a knack for describing her characters in such intimate details. I must admit, I was beginning to fall for Jack myself the moment he was introduced. The [intimate] scenes are not for the weak-hearted, but they just demonstrate how deep the characters love for each other really is. Their relationship is so beautiful and so romantic...everyone longs to find happiness like theirs. This is one awesome book and it's hard to put down! I hope this author continues to write books just as spellbounding as "Suddenly You."

Summary: Don't be mislead by this cover!
Review: I'll admit that I stayed away from the novel at first due to its cover. The dress on it suggested that this was a period romance, and not being a fan of those, I didn't give it a chance. After reading countless excellent reviews, I decied to give it a try and was surprised to discover that it was not a period piece, and was, instead, CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE! I enjoyed the book tremendously! It had just enough true romance and I enjoyed how the characters didn't jump right into bed. The story line is unique also~hiring a gigilo to lose your virginity~now that's a new one!

Summary: A winner for Lisa Kleypas!
Review: I would highly recommend this book! Just what's needed to curl up with on a cold winter's day with a hot chocolate Mmmmmmm! This would be close to being my favorite book by Keypas only beaten by "Dreaming of you" which is beginning to look rather tatty and the worst for wear. I can't wait for her next book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: good, but too many echoes of "Dreaming of You"
Review: This book started out very strong- it had the possibility of becoming an "I love lucy" embarrassing farce, but Lisa wrote the characters as believable adults. However, the rest of the book was disappointingly light-weight, and it began to resemble Dreaming of You (one of my favorite books) too much. (independent woman writer, ambitious man from low background). If she had rounded out the supporting characters and taken a bit more time in the later scenes, I'd have forgiven her and stacked it next to Dreaming. As it is, this one goes back to the used book store as "not a keeper"... a good read, but she's capable of better.
