Review: This novel is poorly written in every possible way. Choppy, silly, painful dialogue; unbelievable characters; a plot that defies common sense. I am a great fan of well written romance; I believe the genre is unfairly judged by most. But when Amazon lists the worst of the genre as the best of the decade -- no wonder people won't give it a chance.

Review: I enjoy Sandra Brown's work. Usually, her characters are likeable and believable. Not in this book. This book was full of crudeness and most of the characters were mean and hateful. The hero had no redeemable qualities, and I found their love story to be totally unbelievable. Cash and Schyler spent most of the book hating each other or being mean to each other and then suddenly they are supposed to fall in love in the last chapter of the book. Why Schyler would even give Cash the time of day is beyond me. He spent most of the book being abusive and cruel. I would definitely not recommend this book. It is not one of Sandra Brown's best. If you like SB, read some of her earlier work, it is better!

Review: I love Sandra Brown. I'm seldom disappointed. This is one of the best I've read by Sandra. I go to the library and head first for her books. I've exhausted most of them. This is a captivating, suspenseful, steamy story. I generally don't like "romance" novels, but Sandra always has so many twists, turns and unexpected surprises intertwined. I was sad to come to the end. Her books keep you thinking about the characters even after you've finished, trying to imagine how the story would continue. BRAVO!

Review: I recently bought this book not realizing that I had already read it. I read the first line and I knew I was in for a treat for the second time. This is Sandra Brown at her very best. It is a page turner. The characters are alive and real. The hero is a man's man who is not afraid to face the hardships of life. The heroine is a modern day Scarlett O'Hara who is out to save the home that she loves so dearly. It is a modern day romance. It is a must read. Sandra Brown does not write the fast enough for me. I loved this book, not once, but twice.
