Rating: Summary: Really good Review: I love Julia Quinn. I can't wait until she comes out with her next book. She reminds me of Julie Garwood. I love her historical romances. Keep up the good work and the humor.
Rating: Summary: A Very Pleasant Surprise Review: This is the first of Ms. Quinn's book I tried and I wasn't prepared for how much I would enjoy it. What made the book such a pleasant surpise was the sharp and delightful humor that was liberally laced thoughout it. I wasn't expecting to smile (let alone laugh) while reading a historical romance! The Viscount Who Loved Me had two very headstrong charactes at its center, Anthony and Kate. Anthony originally intends to woo Kate's younger and more beautiful sister Edwina, but soon finds himself attracted to the older (but clearly more annoying) sister. Both characters are aghast to find themselves drawn to someone whom they think they can't stand. Every time these two get together, it's definitely war, but oh, how the sparks (and fur) fly. Watching these two go at it will leave you laughing and smiling long after you finish the book. After reading this book, I rushed out to find other Quinn books and have yet to be disappointed. Thank you Ms. Quinn!
Rating: Summary: good book good series Review: Well I started this series out reading the third book first and now I've just finished the second book. I am finally going to start the first book in the series. This book is about the oldest Bridgerton brother, Anthony. He is the head of his family and has finally decided to settle down and marry. He is determined not to love is wife so when he picks a potential bride is caught completely off guard when he meets her older sister, Kate. Kate is determined that her baby sister not marry the dashing rake. She stands up to him and even manages to ruffle his feathers a bit when she takes her dog on a walk that ends up in disaster. This book has lots of humor in it and I enjoyed reading about all the Bridgerton family. I can't wait to read the other stories. Plus I have an idea who the mysterious Lady Whistledown is. I can't wait to find out if I'm right!
Rating: Summary: Another Wonderful Book by Julia Quinn!! Review: I read this book not realizing that it was the second in a series, however I'm sure that it won't really matter if I read them out of order. This book was simply wonderful. The characters were rich and full of life, her writting style is simply wonderful! I have already purchased a few more books by Julia Quinn, I feel that I'm about to become a devoted fan! What a wonderful writter she is!!! Thanks again Julia for such a wonderful adventure!
Rating: Summary: Anthony is HOT! No typical tale in Regency England! Review: What I loved most about this story was that the heroine was no utterly gorgeous woman who took the men's breath away and thus captured the elusive viscount, also the most elusive and eligable bachelor in London! She was average and very intelligent. She captured the gorgeous viscount just by being herself. Anthony (the viscount) didn't realize he had fallen for the wrong sister at first until it was too late. I LOVED this story and the hero of Viscount Anthony Bridgerton (eldest brother of the Bridgerton brood begun in 'The Duke and I' with his eldest sister Daphne)! Anthony was sweet, yet strong and determined to finally marry and settle down after years of bachelorhood and being labled the most notorious rake in all of England in 1814. I was very happy to see that Ms. Quinn used a different approach to the all-too-familar tale of the notorious rake who fell for the most gorgeous woman of the season. This rake fell for the most 'unseen' 'wallflower' of the season and potential spinster at the ripe old age of 21. Very impressed Ms. Quinn! ~The infamous and very mysterious Lady Whistledown is predicting that this season, April 1814 will finally see the consumate rake and most eligable bachelor, Viscount Anthony Bridgerton to settle down and take a wife. Watch out ladies! But the only thing the mysterious columnist has gotten wrong this time is that the viscount has already picked a wife! He has picked Edwina Sheffield, the 'belle of the season', a blonde beauty sought after by all the besotted men. He picks her simply because of her blinding beauty and the knowledge that he, the biggest rake and most responsible brother the ton has ever seen will surely not fall in love with her. He cannot afford that luxury. Love caused heartache and he had enough of that emotion. All he was concerned with now was protecting his large brood of brothers and sisters and his widowed mother and securing an heir without falling in love, if that was possible. The problem? Miss Edwina Sheffield, a diamond of the first water had a very very overprotective older sister named Kate who was also having her first season, at the age of 21! Anthony would soon learn he would have to go through Kate first to get to Edwina. Can he do it? With his heart intact? Kate Sheffield has promised her younger sister that she would help her find a respectable husband and make sure he was good to her. Kate by all society's standards was no beauty. Long brown hair and brown eyes, tall and outspoken, she was no simpering belle of the ball and hadn't recieved one proposal. Her father was dead and her stepmother hadn't the money to give the girls two seperate seasons, so they were out in the same year. Which didn't do well. The only Miss Sheffield that any of the men saw was Edwina and Kate was simply...there. An aging spinster with no hope to marry. It was pretty much up to Edwina, 17 and gorgeous with a heart of gold to snag a wealthy and suitable husband to help her mother and sister. But she would only approve of the man her sister chose. The rogue Anthony wasn't going to do well with Kate. He was far too scandalous and reprehensible for her sweet and gentle sister. But making the determined man see this was another story. Alas a battle of wills ensues and they find themselves fighting and bickering more than they find themselves paying Edwina any attention. Soon all that matters to Kate is to keep the scoundrel away from Edwina at all costs! But Kate finds herself hopelessy falling for the devilish rake and Anthony can't remember which sister he was trying to fight for! All he knows is he cannot choose Kate, his heart would be lost forever... Ahhh, I just loved this story and can't recommend it enough. Contrary to most books with gorgeous siblings and more average ones, Edwina is honest to a fault and extremely dedicated to her older sister. I was happy to see the two so dedicated to one another and no jealousy keeping them apart. Edwina truly did not know how beautiful she was and Kate didn't envy her for it or try to belittle her. Kate was beautiful, but in society's shallow eyes she was plain and boring. It took a real man to see this and Anthony saw it, immediately, even thougyh it took him awhile to admit to loving her. Very impressive Ms. Quinn! Thank-you for the hours of enjoyment! (1. THE DUKE AND I) (2. THE VISCOUNT WHO LOVED ME) (3. AN OFFER FROM A GENTLEMAN) Tracy Talley~@
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I read in a long time! Review: This book was wonderful! I actually laughed out loud at many scenes -especially the family game at Bridgerton's country house- and I enjoyed every minute of it. I liked mostly the fact that the hero and heroine, although they had many differences, respected deeply each other. I am surprised with myself that I didn't enjoy "the duke and I" as much. I will certainly give it another try and buy "An offer from a gentleman" as soon as possible. A perfect book to get your mind off everything and help you relax and have fun. Highly recommended to everyone!!!

Rating: Summary: I Hadn't Laughed That Hard In A Long Time Review: The Viscount Who Loved Me is the sequel to The Duke And I and the best story Julia Quinn has written so far. Kate and Edwina Sheffield are sisters going through their first season. One of them has to marry well or them and their mother will have to move to the country in genteel poverty. It is assumed that younger sister Edwina will make the good match because she very beautiful. One of her suitors turns out to be Anthony Bridgerton from Quinn's previous story, The Duke And I. Anthony has decided it's time to settle down with a wife and have children. He's not looking for love, just a woman who is attractive and intelligent. He decides to make his search short by asking his brothers who the Season's Incomparable(which happens to be Edwina) is and courting her. Kate has heard of Anthony's reputation as a womanizer, and she does not want her little sister near him. Being the straightforward person she is, she tells Anthony to his face. Anthony is not accustomed to anyone telling him what to do, so Kate's demand makes him more determined to court her sister even though Kate is the one he is feeling a growing attraction for. So they go into a battle of wills that is guaranteed to make anyone laugh. The interactions between Kate and Anthony are well done as they go from spitting nails at each other, to laughing together, to a truce and finally to gradual intimacy. The secondary characters also contribute to make a lighthearted, hilarious story.
Rating: Summary: Anthony, be still my heart! Review: I rated this book several weeks ago but did not write a review. I just had to come back and do so because even after all of this time, I just can't get Anthony and Kate from my mind. I just loved these two characters as well as the supporting ones, too. Anthony was so cocky and I thouroughly enjoyed seeing Kate bring him to his knees. When they finally got together I got cold chills. It was that good! I loved the Bridgertons and was happy to see Kate and her sister as friends rather than rivals. This one is definitely on my keeper-shelf. Bring on Colin and Penelope's story, Ms. Quinn!
Rating: Summary: This book is hysterical! Review: I enjoyed "The Duke and I" alot, but this book topped it! There is a scene in the park that had me rolling in the floor, literally! My husband asked me to keep it down I was laughing so hard. I don't want to give anything away, but it involves a very comical dog (Kate's) named Newton. This book is great! I thouroughly enjoyed it and I can't wait to read the next one!
