Rating: Summary: Tempers will get you every time!!! Review: This was a wonderful book starting off with Sara who is a strongwilled reformer in England. She gets it into her head that she is going to travel on a ship full of convict women to record the abuses they endure on the voyage to Austrilia and to teach them skiils they can use. Just about halfway through their journey they are kidnapped by a Pirate Ship full of pirate's who want to settle down on a secluded island and start to live a "normal" life. Sara faces up to Gideon (the Pirate Lord) and demands time for the convict women to choose which man they wish to marry. Gideon agrees, although he is very slow in accepting this, and demands that Sara also choose a husband. From there the fireworks just happen. Both Sara and Gideon are very strong willed and have sharp tempers and tongues. I loved this book, I couldn't put it down....the best thing I have read in awhile.
Rating: Summary: A slow burn¿ (3.5 stars) Review: This was an enjoyable read. Sara Willis is a strong-willed, determined woman who has no immediate plans to marry, if at all. Gideon, known as the Pirate Lord, is looking for a wife for him and his men. During his quest for wives, Gideon stumbles across Sara and a group of convict women bound for the penal colonies of Australia. Sara's going along on the trip to make sure that the women's rights are protected. Upon learning of the women, Gideon, thinking they'd be perfect matches for him and his men, decides he's going to make them an offer they can't refuse. From their first meeting, things don't go well between Sara and Gideon. Sara despises pirates and therefore, Gideon; and Gideon despises titled English people, and therefore Sara. What follows is a battle of wits between Sara and Gideon. Sara, ever the activist, feels that she's obligated to protect the women's rights, even if that means possibly facing danger as she defies the Pirate Lord. Gideon, on the other hand, struggles between his dislike of English nobility and his growing attraction to Sara. They have a number of skirmishes some of which end in Sara's favor and others in a draw. Gideon just can't seem to win a battle against her. The romance between these two characters is nice and believable, but it builds up a little slow. There were times when I wished things would speed up and get the romance going a little faster than what it was. Don't get me wrong, there were very good romantic (or shall I say sexy) interludes sprinkled throughout the book, but for me they served more as teasers of what was to come, than of the real thing. Depending on your perspective that might not be a bad thing. Despite that, there was always something going on, be it a battle of wits, bickering among the women, or some form of external danger. This made for a pretty interesting read. In fact, I thought the premise for the story was pretty good. The dialog was good, as were the descriptions. And in the end, you're surprised with a twist that ties up all loose ends perfectly. In sum, this was a pretty good book. If you don't mind a slow-burning romance, than you'll likely enjoy this book.
Rating: Summary: SIZZLING HOT AND GREAT TIL THE LAST PAGE Review: This was everything I had hoped for and more! Ms. Jeffries has outdone herself with this one. Gideon is the man by whom all others should be measured. He is incredible in EVERY way. How anyone could rate this book poorly I don't understand. The chemistry between Gideon and Sara is unstoppable. Sarah does have a tendancy to get a little too prudish and repeats herself, but Gideon more than makes up for it, especially once he learns how to stop her ranting. If he was mine I would rant just to have him stop me!!!

Rating: Summary: A great read!!!! Review: When I was first given this book, I thought that it sounded a bit unrealistic and that it would be boring. But I am so glad I stuck with it because it turned out to be a fantastic story that kept me engrossed until the very end. I could not put it down once I started! You really get lost in the lives of these characters, especially Gideon and Sara. Their feelings and emotions just draw you in. I highly recommend this first installment in The Lord Series. I am going to buy the next two as soon as possible!
