Summary: Most probably her best book!
Review: After having read almost all of Sandra Brown's full length novels, I have come to the conclusion that this is probably her best book. The hero, Ross Coleman is surely the best male character that she has ever created.
The love story between Ross and Lydia is suely one of the most sensual and romantic one I have read in a long time.
I have read the sequel to this novel, Another Dawn, which centres on Ross and Lydia's daughter Banner and Bubba Langston, one of the characters from Sunset Embrace. That too is a great novel, but nowhere as sensual and emotional as this one.
That's why I was shocked about what happens to Ross at the end of Another Dawn!!...read Sunset Embrace if you are looking for a true hero you are not likely to forget anytime soon!

Summary: Filled with passion, anger, and deception its a must read!
Review: Based on a historical time, this book takes place on a wagon train. Filled with passion, anger, secrets, and deception, this book has a fanatasic plot line. It's a must read! I couldn't put it down!! Its one of my favorite books from her. Don't forget to read the sequel Another Dawn, also a must read novel.

Summary: Passion on the prairies.
Review: Give yourself plenty of reading time as you won't be able to put this one down! Lydia,an incredibly beautiful girl (what else) runs away from her vile, abusive stepbrother and gives birth to his baby in the forest. The baby is still born but luckily, she is found and rescued by the Langston family who nurse her back to health in their wagon which is part of a train heading for Texas.Another of the wagoners, Ross Coleman, is forced to watch his wife die in childbirth and reacts violently when Ma Langston suggests that Lydia acts as wetnurse to Ross's newborn baby. The wagontrain moves on and sparks fly between Lydia and Ross.Bad echoes from both their pasts come to haunt them in the weeks ahead, with many confrontations and sadnesses to even out their gradual awareness of the attraction each has for the other. It IS a bit of a bodice ripper but one of the very best of its kind which will hold you in its spell till the end.

Summary: Terrific!
Review: I couldn't believe this book was real! It was such a joy to read and read again! I cried so much for Lydia because she endured so much. I actually wanted to be her! Ms. Brown outdid herself because this one is a winner!

Summary: Beautiful Romance...
Review: I finished the novel in two days. Though I am tired, I am happy. The novel captured my attention from the first page.

Though we don't know for a long while exactly what happened in Lydia's past, we empathize with her. Ms. Brown has a flair for character development. Lydia seems quite realistic. Ross Coleman is perhaps a bit larger than life, but still believable. I loved Ma, Winston Hill, and Moses. I hated Priscilla, just as Ms. Brown intended.

I have few complaints. First I noticed the wagon's interior seems to be as large as it needs to be for the author's convenience. Ross is very tall, but can fit inside by ducking his head. In reality the canvas ceiling would have left a five foot clearance. Since most readers don't know that, they shouldn't care.

My second complaint stems from the resolution of the conflict between Ross and his father-in-law, Mr. Gentry. I really wished it had ended in a more positive way. I can't say more, or I will give away the plot.

Third, Lydia seems far too eager to forgive Ross for their first sexual encounter. She should have been more upset over the situation, given her past. Again, I can't elaborate. The rest of their lovemaking was very beautifully written.

There were few holes in the plot. I would have liked to know who killed the woman in Baltimore. Was it Clancey? We may never know. What was Lydia doing the four days that Ross spent in jail? Where was Lee during the same four days?

I would like to see more books, and I understand there is one sequel already. It's set twenty years into the future, and features the now-grown Jake (Bubba) Langston (Ma's son).

I would like to know more about Ma, maybe even as a prequel...? She is so courageous, strong yet tender, and wise. I want to hear her story!

In conclusion, I do recommend this book. Any book that makes me cry must be good. Although I found some flaws, I was still delighted with the love story, the "steam quotient", and the characters. I will buy the sequel.

Summary: Historical romance at its finest
Review: I had never been very interested in historical romances. I was at the local bookstore looking for a new book to read, and as I always do, I randomly pick a book. The book I picked was Sunset Embrace. I didnt even look to see what type of book it was until I got home. I was disappointed and ready to take it back when I found that it was a historical romance, but decided to give it a try. That was the best thing I could have done. I could not put this book down. It keeps you guessing on what was going to happen next, even better than some modern romance books do. Sandra Brown did a wonderful job with this book. I give it an A+

Review: I have read tons of Sandra Brown books as well as many other authors of romantic mysteries and this is my all time favorite book. I read it almost a year ago and I still think about this book often. I am reading it again and it is still just as great. I think everyone should read it. It's awesome!!!!

Summary: The best book I have read!
Review: I loved this book. My family and I were on vacation in Destin, Fl and I wanted a good book to read. I first bought Another Dawn which is the sequel to Sunset Embrace. So I went back to the store and bought Sunset Embrace and read both books that week while lying on the beach. I can't wait to read them both again!
