Review: THIS BOOK WAS A GREAT FIRST EFFORT. I LIKED GEORGIE AND JOHN AND THOUGHT THAT MS. GIBSON DID A WONDERFUL JOB OF MOVING THE STORY ALONG. I ALSO LAUGHED QUITE A BIT WHICH WAS VERY REFRESHING. I HAVE OFFICIALLY ADDED RACHEL GIBSON TO MY LIST OF FAVORITE AUTHORS AND LOOK FORWARD TO HER NEXT WORK

Summary: Could have been better
Review: I started out really enjoying the book, but I didn't like the 'I hate you but lust your body' attitude both characters appeared to have. In other romance novels, of course the lust is prevalent, but there is usually some inkling of how the characters feel internally, even if they don't orally express their feelings to each other. I loved the daughter, but I didn't like John being able to stay away for seven years and never appear to even think of her. Then when they are reunited,and realizes he has a daughter he wants to marry her? A little stretch there. The book was okay, but could have been so much better.

Summary: Too Good to Put Down!
Review: This is the fast paced story of a beautiful young woman slated to be the trophy wife of a hockey team owner (40 years her senior) who gets cold feet and escapes the wedding with the team's star player. The chemistry between them is immediate and he tries to resist temptation but fails miserably. After seven years he discovers that they have a child together and pursues a relationship. If you love happy endings and lots of "laughing out loud" you'll love this book. It's a cross between Fancy Pants and It had to be You by Susan Elizabeth Philips. Can't wait for her next one!

Review: This was a great read. I enjoyed it very much. I must say that I made my final decision on buying the book when I saw that it involved hockey. But, the book was funny, and touching. It was more than just just a lighthearted book. I, too, thought it similar to Suzanne Phillps' books (that I also liked very much). I would like to see more books like this.

Summary: Great new addition to romance
Review: I read this book this past weekend and, like all the other reviewers, loved it! The development of Georgeanne's character was especially good. At the beginning of the book, Georgeanne made me uncomfortable with her helplessness and manipulation, but she was great when she finally grew up. Same goes for the hero -- loved it when he played Barbies with his daughter. The only minor criticism I had with the writing was that so many of the characters looked like or reminded another character of someone famous; that seems like a lazy way to develop characterization. By the third time, I was irritated by the comparisons. Nonetheless, the first thing I did upon finishing the book was to search Amazon for more titles by Rachel Gibson. The author blurb makes it sound like she has written other books, but Amazon doesn't list any others. Anyone know of other titles?

Review: Once again I was beginning to doubt whether or not the romance genre had anything good to offer. It had become stagnant again (readers go thru this about every three or four years). With the exception of the top few great writers, Howard, Roberts, Krentz, etc., we really have not had many good or great new authors showing up this year. Leave it to Avon to find one. Rachel Gibson has turned out a wonderful book. "Simply Irresistible" is fabulous! Humor, sizzling passion,(which many of us romance readers know, has been sadly lacking in books this year), sexy characters, and a wonderful storyline. I could not put this book down! If you like Susan E. Phillips, Jayne Ann Krentz etc. you will love this new author. Great work! and by the way Ms. Gibson when's your next one?
