Summary: I skipped work to stay home and finish reading this book.
Review: This is the 3rd Rachel Gibson book I have read and I just have to say she is a wonderful writer. I enjoyed the characters and all of their flaws. The bad review I read above about Georgeanne being an bimbo etc. must have been written by a very jealous writer who just wishes he/she had the talent to write books that draw you into their little world. I see where they kept there name anon too. Well all I have to say is that I love her books and am so glad that I discovered her.

Summary: Excellent
Review: I thought this book was a good read. I saw it and thougth it would be boring. But I was wrong. I especially like Hugh and Mae. But the tension between Georgannr and John was very fun to read. It's not every day something like this happens in real life. I loved reading it. I couldn't put it donw until i was finished.

Summary: I enjoy Rachel Gibson but...
Review: I enjoy Rachel Gibson, but this was probably my least favorite of her books. It was a good read, and there were some tender and funny moments, but it seemed to me like the romance was wrapped up too quickly at the end. He's still thinking of Georgie as nothing but sex and then ... bam! He's proposing to her five pages later.

Basically, I didn't think the relationship was well-developed at all. I found much to appreciate in Georgie, personally, although I had trouble liking her at the beginning. But it didn't really seem like there was any genuine emotional development between the two characters.

However, it was a fun book, and it's obvious that many people enjoyed it very much. Heck, I enjoyed it. I simply think there are a lot better books in this sub-genre. Read Gibson's "It Must Be Love" instead.

Summary: Simply SUCKS
Review: Your protagonist is a bimbo (I try to be nice) Georgeanne. SHe's big breasted, and gorgeous but has the brain of a bimbo.

Your guy is totally perfect: he likes fleshy women, doesn't believe in dating older/younger partners, and is totally into commitment. Sounds like a puppy, not a man.

If taht wasn't enough, Rachel Gibson has a weakness for hackneyed writing. How many times have I heard of female protagonists with "silky" hair? The cliches are endless and drive you crazy. I am suprised she has won so many awards; looks like standards are falling.

Overall, this is a perfect, happily ending story. It is sickening at times. But hey, some people like that crap.

Summary: Simply wonderful!
Review: If you like great romance and humor, you're in for a treat! Even though the basic premise isn't new - years after a one night stand, man discovers he's fathered a child and that he still has a powerful attraction to the mother - Rachel Gibson makes it seem fresh and alive. This is by far the best first novel by any author that I've ever read. You will fall in love with the characters, including the Lexie, the most vivid child I've ever seen in a romance novel. As a Texan transplanted to Seattle, I could obviously relate to Georgianne, but I was surprised at how much I loved John, the professional hockey player. I'm impressed by so much that Gibson does in this novel, including a great portrayal of a star athlete's life, an accurate rendition of Seattle. Read this novel - you'll be glad you did!

Summary: GOOD BOOK!!
Review: I rarely give five stars for the books I rate on here, so you know this one is a good one. Okay, maybe I'm biased because I have been searching forever for a romance novel that ties in hockey, my favorite sport. Besides the hockey, this book was also extremely funny, which is a requirement, and a pretty good "I love you" scene. All in all, I definitely recommend this book.

Summary: Simply OK
Review: Georgianne Howard had done some crazy things in her life but marrying a man old enough to be her grandfather would not be one of them. So taking her suitcase she walked out on her fiance just an hour before their wedding. As she leaves his home, a gorgeous hunk is also leaving in his red corvette and she asks him for a ride. He agrees, not knowing who she is.

The hunk turns out to be John Kowalsky, franchise player for the Seattle Chinooks hockey team. He didn't realize he had absconded with his boss's bride until it was too late. Not willing to risk his career he is determined to keep his distance from her. But before he can get her a flight back to Texas she needed a place to stay for the night. Reluctantly he agrees to let her stay at his place. Georgianne is too beautiful to resist and he ends up spending the night in her bed. The following day he delivers her to the airport thinking he would never see her again.

But John and Georgianne do meet again seven years later and John discovers that their one night of passion has produced a child and he is determined to be a part of her life.

Although this story is a good read it was frustrating to a degree because the romance between John and Georgianne never seemed to get a good start. The author allowed other issues in the story to overshadow the romance end. But this is my opinion and I would still recommend this book, along with Gibson's others, "Truly, Madly Yours" and "It Must Be Love".

Summary: Just great !!!
Review: It's my first book I read by Rachel Gibson and it took me only a couple of pages to figure out, that there's another author I have to put on my list of "Favorite Romantic Writers". Right next to Susan Elisabeth Philipps, Judith McNaught, Julia Quinn and Susan Andersen.

At first I thought, if one of the characters has kids, the book can't be that romantic, but I was terribly wrong. Lexie, the seven-year-old daughter of beautiful Georganne and "Mr. Masculino " John is so sweet and funny (no wonder by having those parents !!) that I just couldn't imagine, why I've thought, she would disturb the romantic touch of the book. She makes the book special, especially when she shows her tough-hockey-playing daddy how to play barbie. I think Rachel Gibson did a great job involving a kid but keeping the romantic up on the highest level.

It was also great to read, that these characters weren't as perfect as they are in most books. Georganne has a little learning disability, which makes her just more adorable. But see for yourself. Just don't let the opportunity of a great romantic, funny, loveable novel pass...

Summary: Not brain surgery
Review: This book is simple and cheesy. Its a delightful read for an oceanside vacation but don't look for depth. I rolled my eyes so much, I thought they were going to get stuck.

Summary: This is a wonderful romance novel
Review: This was my first Rachel Gibson novel; I've since bought two more, but this is by far my favorite. The hero and heroine are slightly off-beat, clearly each have hang-ups and problems, and yet manage to find some common ground beyond a sizzling physical attraction. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it is in my reread pile.
