Summary: Breath Taking.....
Review: I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end. I think maybe I fell in love with Grimm himself and found myself as Jillian. I have also read Karen's first book Beyond the Highland Mist, and even then I was drawn to Grimm.. I was so pleased to see Karen write Grimms book. I loved how the scenes played out.. Him fighting with a terrible past no only with himself, and his clan, but with this delicate white blond enchantress; while she was constantly chasing after her childhood God stubborn at first, but the way Karen put the detail in Jillians face I too could emagine myself reacting, and having the same exspressions as she did. I love how he teases her making her think he wanted to confess his love (Which he did) then becomes proud making his comments like pea hen leave me be.. it was very frustrating for the suspense of is he finally going to confess take her in his arms and show her that he is dying of love for her since they first met as children. I believe all awhile that's what Karen was planning to do to us, put us on edge as we hurriedly flip the page to see what would happen next. In the end however I let out a pleased sigh, and could't help having a bright smile as I constantly played the book over in my head. I now want to take a trip to Scotland for Karen's Historical telling of magickal myths, and decryptions of the landscape were very good. I also need a new book for I've read it so many times it no longer has the best part (the cover) Who is that Guy anyway?? lol I own all of Karen's books. All are very good I'll tell you that, but this is her best. I also have a complaint to one thing. Karen if you ever read this I need more Highland books like Grimm and Hawk. I love the telling of old Scotland, and the different Clans. I'm getting a little bored with you time travel novels sweetie...:) I also look forward to her new book Dark Highlander, even though again it's a time travel.

Summary: Absolutely FABULOUS!!
Review: I absolutely LOVED this book. It's one of the few that I'm keeping to re-read. Like another reviewer, I read and loved, "Beyond the Highland Mist" and was looking forward to this one. "To Tame a Highland Warrior" was even better! I laughed, I cried, I cheered for them - I hated for the book to end. I can't wait for Ms.Moning's next book!

Summary: A real MUST read!
Review: I feel so fortunate to have found Karen when she wrote her first book, (Beyond the Highland Mist) because she writes her characters with feeling that just JUMPS off the pages & straight into your heart! It has been a long time since I've seen this kind of talent. You know how they say that sequels are never as good as the original story? Well, you DON'T have to worry about that with this book. Grimm & Jillian are a H/H that you fall head over heels in love with from the beginning. If you like a Highland tale, try the legend of the Berserker's. If you like a hero with a past that the author lets you see & feel. If you like a heroine that has a heart & a BRAIN and uses them both equally. If you like secondary characters who jump off the pages & make you love or hate them.. Then BUY this book! Then buy a second copy for your friends & another for your keeper shelf cause you will want to read this again & you will not want to chance losing it to a friend!

Summary: Fabulous!!!
Review: I had a hard time putting this one down. If you into handsome, virile berserkers and childhood love blossoming this books for you.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Give me a Berserker any day.
Review: I love Karen Marie Moning and read this book years ago, but loved the new cover so much I had to buy it (and read it) again. Bless Dell for these hot but not disgusting covers. Ever since "The Dark Highlander", Ms. Moning's books have had the best covers in the biz. If a romance novel has to have a shirtless man on the cover, this is what it should look like!

Ok, enough drooling, on to the review...

Before I start, let me say that while a four star review may be the lowest rating some reviewers will give, with me it's actually about the best a book can be. I'm saving my five stars for stuff that really knocks my socks off, and with Ms. Moning I'm pretty sure that there's a sock-knocker-offer in the offing and I want it to get the respect it deserves when it comes.

Gavrael McIllioch is a sixteenth century highlander who left his home at the age of fourteen after going into a Berserker rage and wiping out the invading army that nearly destroyed his people. Believing that his father had murdered his mother in an inherited moment of insanity, Gavrael seems intent never to return. Two years later he's found by the youngest daughter of another Scottish family and is taken in and essentially adopted by them. We meet up with him several years after that when he's known as "Grimm" and has been living the life of a mercenary.

Grimm receives a message from the man who took him in at the age of sixteen. It says simply, "Come for Jillian". Dropping everything, Grimm races to answer the call.

Jillian St. Clair is a beautiful, wealthy young woman with everything going for her, except that she was once spurned by Grimm, the only man she's ever loved. Now 21 and considered a spinster, Jillian has convinced everyone that she's saintly and not meant for marriage. The illusions that she's built-up around herself begin to topple when her father brings Grimm back into her life in the hopes that he will marry her. Around Grimm, Jillian becomes a feisty, quick-witted termagant.

The interaction between Grimm and Jillian is excellent. Both are guarded for their own reasons: Grimm because he believes he's doomed by the fact that he's a Berserker to never be able to trust himself not to hurt a woman; Jillian because Grimm hurt her so badly when he left her before. They argue and snap at one another, but the sexual tension bubbling under the surface is thrilling!

Jillian's father has brought two other suitors to vie with Grimm for Jillian's hand, but when Grimm won't even enter the competition things really heat up. Sometimes Jillian's actions during this part of the story are a little exasperating, but she's cool enough to admit to herself that she's being annoying and it adds a depth to her character that lets you forgive some of the silly things she does.

Despite my overwhelmingly warm feelings for this book, it does have a few problems. I don't want to spoil the story, but let's just say that there's a major misunderstanding regarding Grimm's past, and it bugs me that a little bit of information gathering on the parts of several people could have eliminated the problem altogether. Also, the fact that Grimm so easily turned away from his father without being certain about what he thought is really out of character, I think. It's like common sense is totally sacrificed for the sake of plot and I don't like that.

Also, we're led to believe that Jillian's father is one of the best, most respected men in Scotland, but he actually puts total faith in the main villain. The actions of Jillian's father in general are irritating, which would be fine if it weren't obvious that he's meant to be a likeable character.

Really my problems with "To Tame a Highland Warrior" aren't that big, and I love it in spite of them. This is a book not to be missed. The chemistry between Jillian and Grimm is magnificent. Theirs is a truly great love story.

I recommend anything else by Ms. Moning, especially "The Dark Highlander". Come on, you know you want to add another one of these covers to your library!

Summary: Great Series
Review: I love this series although this is probably my least favorite in the series it is still one of the best romance novels I have ever read.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Follow up is better than first
Review: I read Beyond the Highland Mist (which was Adrienne's and Hawk's story) and that was great. But Grimm's book was awesome! I loved the depth of character that was given to both Grimm and Jillian when they were dealing with their emotions. It took them long enough to finally get together but Grimm, as always, does it in his own time and his own style. I loved him when he was in Beyond the Highland Mist and I knew his story would be good. He was very lovable (is that un-manly? ) for a berserker!

I'm glad Karen Moning didn't make him out to be as wild as you read that the true bersekers were. They sounded positively untameable. Terrific book, a definite must read.

Summary: I loved Grimm's Story!!
Review: I read her first book and was hoping she would write Grimm's story and she did. again this was an incredible book. Ms. Moning is a great stroyteller. Ofcourse now I want to read her other 2 novels. I am just hoping that one of them is about Quinn. It is a sin to have such a great character and not do something with it... Ms. Moning it seems always has a character in one book that you just want to learn more about!
