Summary: One Man's Art was so interesting, I could not put it down.
Review: Nora Roberts knows how to show the inter-relationships of a powerful family. She knows how to relate the relationship between two independent but vastly different personalities between a brother and sister. She shows Shelby as the out going, extroverted go-getter talented woman that was affected by the same tragedy as her introverted, equally talented brother, Grant.

I found it very interesting the story about how both siblings found love in very different ways, but with the same result. They both had scars from their father's sudden death. She expertly showed that you can overcome these scars. The path that Shelby and Grant toke showed that you can love people and not be hurt the same way as you were in the past. Basically, the past can be a good teacher, but not necessarily the indicator of the future. Learn from the past, but don't repeat the same failings.

Summary: True Nora Roberts!
Review: The MacGregors-Alan-Grant was a good book. I have to say the first story was very boring, but I gave it 4 stars because of "One Man's Art." Grant and Gennie were great!!! I agree with the first review: Grant's eyes were brown in one story and deep green in the next. Bear in mind that those two stories were written years ago, and were done separately. I have not read the first book "Serena and Caine" as of yet. I expect it will be very good.

Summary: Fabulous book!
Review: This was my first introduction to the MacGregor books (I didn't know "Serena-Caine" came first chronologically -- couldn't they publish that inside somewhere?). Anyway, I could NOT get into Alan's story at all. In fact, I had such a hard time I put the book away and started reading other books -- it was 2 or 3 months before I ran out of other material! So I picked it up and slogged through it. Neither character is unlikeable, it's just that neither was realistic or particularly interesting, for that matter. The "4 star" rating above is because I so enjoyed Grant and Gennie's story -- it's the only thing that kept me going onto the other MacGregor books! Gennie was strong but not irritating, and Grant was a loner who needed not to be alone. A really enjoyable second story!

Summary: Save your time -- skip "Alan"
