Summary: loved it!!!
Review: Believe it or not I'm not a Julia Quinn fan. I have read the books so far in the Bridgerton series including "How to Marry A Marquis", and this is the only one that I throughly enjoyed. I'm looking forward to reading Eloise story and I hope that she does one on Francisca. If you don't read any of her others - buy this one.

Summary: Delightful, funny, definitely a keeper on the bookshelf
Review: Ahh, haven't we all wished for the ability to write witty, yet cutting prose about those we know, love and laugh at the best???

Lady Whistledown, who is simply all those things, is so brilliantly exposed during the trials and tribulations of this love affair between Colin and Penelope. For those of you who are avid Quinn fans from the beginning, you'll love this story for it ties up the mystery of the infamous Lady Whistledown. AND for those of you who haven't read a Quinn book yet, feel fancy free to pick this book up and start here. You'll be able to go back and read the previous books with a giggle in your heart that you know something the rest of the players don't.

Either way you choose to read it, it's a delightful, funny, entertaining, emotional read and comes highly recommended.

Summary: Finally ... story for Colin and Penelopy
Review: I have been a fan of Julia Quinn ever since I read THE DUKE AND I, the first in the Bridgerton Family series. Her writing focuses not on complex plots or twisted situations, but on the hopes, dreams, and heartbreaks of her characters, people you grow to know and love.

Romancing Mr. Bridgerton is the story of Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, both of whom appear in all the previous books. Penelope has loved Colin for years, but her self-confidence is virtually nil, and her family, as well as the rest of society, long ago gave up on her ever getting married. Colin is a man without a plan; he desperately wants a purpose in life instead of being known as just another charming Bridgerton. Each of them goes on a journey of personal change as they seek to improve themselves and find true love. Their story is touching and funny and left me feeling extremely glad that they finally found each other.

If you have followed this series and have wondered who Lady Whistledown is, you will find out in this book. I won't disappoint you by giving the answer away, but I will tell you that there is a good chance your suspicions are correct. Julia Quinn's writing is side-splitting and tear-jerking, and you can't miss with her latest book.

Summary: Wouldn't being Lady Whistledown be fun!
Review: Can you imagine secretively being able to give an account of some of the ridiculous happenings at socials to be published without others knowing you wrote them? It could be fun unless you are at the other end of the receiving line. This is a sweet romance about Peneloupe Featherington, the "wallflower" of the ton, who has had feelings for Collin Bridgerton since she was young. But she has gone unnoticed and accepts the fact of spinsterhood. Colin Bridgerton, member of the well-liked and wealthy Bridgerton family, started traveling when his mother put the squeeze on him to marry. Now after 10 years being abroad, he returns home for a visit only to discover that things have changed and that what he has been searching for was at home all along. LOVE! And all along "Lady Whistledown" is writing/publishing accounts of the Ton Events that are not always favorable. But just who is the mysterious Lady W? I also enjoyed Peneloupe and Eloise's friendship. This is a sweet romance, full of humor and lots of dialog that gets monotonous at times. Things seem to drag and don't really get going until half-way through the book.

Summary: What an exciting start for me!
Review: I have to admit I was slow in getting this book and this is the first Bridgerton book I have read. (Go on, avid Quinn readers, laugh at me,)The prologue of the book already got me hooked as it was just so hilarious.

Penelope is a character I'm sure a lot of plain women will identify with; she's not your typical 'beautiful' or 'gorgeous' or 'exquisite beauty'. Bottomline: She's normal. She's average, and that is one of the reasons I really liked this book.

Besides the excellent chemistry between the Bridgertons, Lady Whistledown is also a very refreshing character. Her 'Society Papers' at the beginning of each chapter made me so tempted to read on, and on, and on...just to find out what other gossip she has about the ton. In this book, readers will also (finally!) get to find out the identity of Lady Whistledown (gasp!) and the answer will definitely shock you!

Okay, I don't want to give too much of the story away, (even though I'm VERY tempted,) just go and get the book!

Aaah! I can't wait for Eloise's story in the next instalment of the Bridgerton series 'To Sir Philip, With Love'! Is anyone as excited as me?

Summary: Really enjoyed it
Review: This was a fun, light historical romance. No mystery & suspense like I've been reading lately, but I like a change of pace every once in a while. If you've liked Julia Quinn's other historicals, you'll probably like this one also. It's not as good as 'How To Marry A Marquis', but I still enjoyed it. It's cute & comical & didn't do that "she hates him, he hates her, til they fall in love" thing that so many historicals do. That's a relief to me. I can't believe JQ actually reveiled Lady Whistledown in this one!
I think everyone needs a friendship like Penelope & Eloise; I have one & it lifts me up & puts me back on track when I think nothing can. Happy Reading!

Summary: Rrrrrrip -- is that a bodice I hear?
Review: Snore. The fun of Regency romances is their structure -- no sex, a significant economic reason why the heroine had better find a mate, a flawed hero ... not this 21st century superimposition of sexual desire (and relief), a financially independent heroine, and a perfect (athletic, handsome, tall, shapely, well-spoken, intellectual, did I mention handsome, tall, shapely?) hero. Skip this book unless you really just want to read about another perfect initial sexual encounter nominally staged two hundred years ago.

Summary: Not your average romance novel - no, this is a love story
Review: Julia Quinn is the perfect rare example of a romance novelist who, rather than being unable to live up to a first masterpiece, steadily continues to mature in her writing. Her first four books were fun and witty and used the same types of rather implausible background mysteries/misunderstandings that are inserted into most romance novels to maintain a reader's interest. Her next four (_Sun_, _Heiress_, _Marquis_, and _Duke_) had more believable conflicts, and though that of _Viscount_ wasn't quite as easily believed (especially to a female audience), it lived up to its predecessor by demonstrating a funnier, more mature wit and a more detailed description of how and why, precisely, the characters fell in love. _Gentleman_ had the most plausible conflict yet, although, despite definite evidence of a more mature style, I couldn't _quite_ prefer it to the poignancy of _Duke_ or the _Pride-and-Prejudice_-type transformation of _Viscount_. Now we finally come to the subject of this review, _Romancing Mister Bridgerton_, which doesn't employ a kidnapper or murderer or even a deep dark secret that prevents the hero from falling in love - and, surprisingly, doesn't need one.

At 33 and 28 respectively, Colin and Penelope are Quinn's oldest protagonists so far, and also the truest and most real. This is not primarily because their characterization is the most powerful, but because they have faults and flaws and are really, truly human - extremely unusual in this genre. Even more unusual, their friendship and respect are what engender their passion and love, while 95 percent of romance novels are the other way around. This work portrays the growth and maturity of two people who each make the other a better person through their love. Some (though, of course, not all) of the book's charm would actually be lost by neglecting to read the first three of the series because, as one can tell, this is Quinn's "crowning jewel"; what the entire series has been building up to in more ways than one.

Further suspense is added by the impending unmasking of Lady Whistledown, which, judging by other reviews, kept many readers interested in lieu of the stereotypical romance-novel mystery. But this love story can truly stand on its own: after reading so many reviews and reading the first three Bridgerton books in immediate succession, I was already completely positive who Lady Whistledown was, and this did not detract from my enjoyment at all. If what you're really looking for is passion, scandal, danger, and lots of love scenes, there are probably better books out there for you - but if you're looking for character growth and a sweet love story, you can't get much better than this. I haven't reread a novel so often without ever tiring of it since reading _Ella Enchanted_ when I was twelve years old, which I first read five times in a row in little more than five hours and then proceeded to read around eighty (no, I'm not exaggerating!) times over the next two years (okay, so I certainly haven't read _Romancing_ that many times - I'm no longer _insane_ like I was at that age!). I've read a lot of great, classic romance novels (by Putney, Woodiwiss, Krentz, Dodd, Heath, etc.), but somehow this one still remains my favorite and closest to my heart, alongside _Jane Eyre_, _Pride and Prejudice_, and _Persuasion_. This is what a romance novel should be.

Summary: A Great Story
Review: Ms Quinn has again written a wonderfully funny, and rousing tale about one of the Bridgertons. Colin is having a life crisis seeing both his older brothers in productive endeavors while he has nothing worthy to show for his time. He has traveled extensively but always comes home to be close to his family. When he arrives at home in this book he begins to notice Penelope Featherington as a women.

Penelope has always loved Colin, but has resigned herself to being an old maid. She knows that someone like Colin can have his pick of the available young ladies, so she doesn't stand a chance. She finds other pursuits that help her stay busy and since her mother has given up on her she dresses better as well.

As the story develops and these two begin to explore the feelings between they realize that life maybe better together than apart. Ms Quinn continues to draw her reads into the wonderfully peopled stories she writes. Giving us laughter and sadness and triumphs.

Summary: I love this family!
Review: Okay, Okay...I put off buying this book. Having recently gotten married, I simply didn't have the time to read. Finally, after being told by my romance reading friend how wonderful the book was, I thought I would MAKE time to read it. Boy was it sure worth it! I loved this book! Although, I loved all of the books in this series. Having read so many romance novels sometimes I come across one that I wonder if these people really do love one another. Well let me tell you that you KNOW that the characters in this book really do. Penelope and Colin were such a joy to read about. I simply had to read it all in one setting, and when I was finished I was sad it was over. I am anxiously awaiting her next one, and believe me, I WILL get it immediately. If you do purchase this book, (I hope you do, you will love it) Make sure you start at the beginning of the series and work your way to this one. All of them are wonderful. Happy reading.
