Rating: Summary: Mercy Review: Outstanding! James Lee Burke with a little romance thrown in. Very entertaining and fast paced.
Rating: Summary: Have Mercy!! Review: I just love Julie Garwood, I believe that she is the queen of romantic thrillers! Mercy is the newest gem in a long line of spectacular stories. It is set in the present time and revolves around an attorney named Theo Buchanan (who is the brother of Nick Buchanan from Heartbreaker) and a doctor named Michelle Renard (whom everyone calls Dr. Mike). The story takes place in New Orleans and the swampy little town of Bowen, Louisiana. If you liked Heartbreaker, this one will not disappoint. I have always loved Ms. Garwood's historical romance novels in the past, but she has transported us to the present in the past two novels without missing a beat. She takes us on a thrilling ride! I am still hoping that she makes Noah Clayborne her leading man in the next novel. He is my favorite character who appears in Heartbreaker as well as Mercy. It is always a pleasant surprise to see recurrent characters pop-up in her latest releases. It gives you something to look forward to. You come to really love the characters she writes about and when you see them again, it feels like a family reunion.
Rating: Summary: Great Read! Couldn't put it down Review: This was a great book. I enjoyed it almost as much as Heartbreaker. The supporting characters were great. I'm looking forward to future novels with their story.
Rating: Summary: The Sequal to Heartbreaker! Review: This is the second book in a series. It was great and you don't have to have read Heartbreaker to enjoy this book. This is the story of Theo Buchanan Nick's brother. Theo is a justice department attorney who is being honored in New Orleans for the work that he has done. While in the "Big Easy" he falls sick and is rushed to the hospital where Dr. Michelle Renard saves his life. Needing to get away and relax he takes Michelles father up on the suggestion to come to the Bayou for a fishing vacation and maybe he will catch the elusive Michelle. But Theo is about to uncover a ring of criminals that are determined to maintaine their secrecy even if it means they have to kill in order to do it. Michelle's medical clinic is destroyed by someone looking for evidence and Theo is there to help. Theo and Michelle's story is great and it is set in one of my favorite places on earth. A must read for any Garwood Fan!
Rating: Summary: Better than I thought Review: This book is a little slow at first. Hang in there. It is better than I thought at first. The action picks up and the romance between Theo and Mike is interesting to read. I had hoped it would be more of a sequel to Heart Breaker, but it's still a good read. I liked it that Noah was back again. It's definitely worth the time.
Rating: Summary: Mery by Julie Garwood is a real page turner! Review: Julie Garwood is one of my favorite authors. She has never disappointed me with any of her books and 'Mercy" is no different. A real page turner. Set in New Orleans where a Mercy killing is taking place. The plot is suspenseful and quite intriguing. The characters are easy to relate to and very entertaining. I recommend this book highly.
Rating: Summary: Loved It Review: Dr. Mike is awesome. I look forward to the other stories on the Buchannan clan. I am glad Nick and Lauren where mentioned. Although I would have loved to have seen more of them in this book - Julie cleaned it up with the time line (Nick & Laurens wedding). Great read - you will NOT be disappointed. Oh and there is an AWESOME Twist! Hope this helps. Can't wait for the next book!
Rating: Summary: Can't Replace it! Review: Theo Buchanan is devoted to his career. He works as a Justice Department Attorneey. Dr. Michelle Renard saves Theo's life when he was dreadfully sick. Theo couldn't take his eyes off her, when he saw her. Theo's lead a lonely life after his wife died. He works himself very hard everyday. The two seem very attracted to each other when they met. Also, Catherine, Michelle's related relative, died and Michelle was sent a mysterious package. Only that she never got to open it. Four men named the sowing club were after that package. They would do anything to get it. This book was full of tenderness and love. Also, hilarious parts that will make you tear when you laugh and mysterious parts that will make you wonder until your brain exploded. Well, its not that mysterious. I am serious, you have got to read this book. It's beyond amazing. I also sugest that you read the book "heartbreaker". That book cames before "Mercy". Check both of them and you won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: A Good Move for Garwood! Review: Indeed, Garwood's dabble into contemporary romance suspence fiction was a brilliant move on her part. If Heartbreaker and Mercy are any proof, Garwood has great talent in this genre. This was a great book, wonderfully romantic and enticingly intriguing. Admittedly, the killer was not extremely difficult to figure out. Regardless, the book was excellent still. I had also enjoyed Garwoods previous books, although they are in the historical romance genre. However, if you did enjoy his book, I highly recomment Jayne Ann Krentz and her latest book, Smoke in Mirrors.
Rating: Summary: Not her best but worth reading Review: I must say this was not one Ms. Garwood's best books. I am an avid reader of her work. I have read all of her books at least once. I was not thrilled when she started writting contemporary novels, but gave Heartbreaker a shot and LOVED it. However, I must say Mercy was not as good. I like Ms. Garwood's new books but still hold the hope that she will also write a historical romance every once in a while.
