Summary: mercy
Review: A new style for Ms.Garwood. Have read all her books to date. This had a great plot that made it hard to put down. There was still a nice love story but the plot line was more developed than in her past books. A great book to read many times.

Summary: Terrific Romantic Suspense
Review: Following in the footsteps of HEARTBREAKER, Ms. Garwood's previous novel of romance and suspense, MERCY pits Theo Buchanan against an unknown evil threatening the life of the beautiful Michelle.

Dr. Michelle Renard encounters Theo first at a party in New Orleans where she meets him and subsequently saves his life when she operates to remove his appendix. Michelle enchants Boston-based Justice Department attorney, Theo Buchanan, when he sees her after his surgery. After her father invites him to go fishing in Bowen, Louisiana, Theo travels there only to discover that Michelle's clinic has been ransacked.

Enter the subplot-members of the sinister Sowing Club, John, Dallas, Preston, and Cameron, friends forever who amassed a large fortune in shady investment deals. When they become involved in "mercy" killing, the four need to cover their tracks. Where are the documents that could destroy them?

In an intricate plot twist, Michelle becomes the target as the four are given reason to believe that she is the recipient of some documents that could be particularly damaging to them. Can Theo protect her as their two lives become inextricably combined?

Ms. Garwood has proven once-again that she has successfully made the crossover from historicals to romantic suspense. The motivation of the Sowing Club becomes increasingly evil as the members lose all notions of morality and will go to any lengths for greed. The scenes are fast-paced, the characters colorful and enigmatic as Michelle and Theo encounter the many dangers of the bayou. For a sure-fire winner, MERCY can't be beat.

Summary: First things first!
Review: One has to get past their hopeful expectations that the book Garwood fans have been anxiously awaiting would be a tightly woven sequel to HEARTBREAKER. It does bring Theo Buchanan, brother of Nick from HEARTBREAKER into the limelight of a storyline that I personally found a bit less riviting then it's predecessor, but still well written in the way one expects of Ms. Garwood.

Michelle Renard, raised alone by her Louisana father when her mother suffers a stroke while giving birth to her, has a brillant mind that pulls her from life in a small bayou town into the life of a surgeon. The circumstances that take her from that of an uncultured girl to that of a beautiful, refined doctor are described powerfully and weave her involvement with Theo, an attorney, into an enthralling storyline. For an author that made the switch from medieval romance to contemporary suspense-laden romantic novels, Garwood barely misses a beat in such a dramatic switch in style and content. She may surprise, but she never disappoints. But, I'm still hoping that Noah from HEARTBREAKER eventually finds himself positioned as a main character in a future Garwood mystery!

Summary: Julie has stuck gold!
Review: Mercy, Julie Garwoods new hard cover novel, the follow up to Heartbreaker I can only describe as gold! Theo, an attorney for the Justice dept., meets Michelle, Dr. "Mike", at a huge gala in New Orleans as he's doubled over in pain. The fun starts here! I don't want to give away one minute of the suspence and romance that takes place in this novel, but to me this is the best I've read by her since Prince Charming. There's not an element missing from this book, and she's spiced it up with her trademark feisty heroine and hunky, type A, sensitive hero. I loved every minute of it, finished it in one sitting!
DO NOT MISS THIS! It left me hungry for more....

Summary: Great romantic suspense
Review: Surgeon Michelle Renard feels self conscious at an uptown gala honoring the work accomplished by Theo Buchanan, a justice department lawyer. He was instrumental in sending an organized crime syndicate to jail for a very long time. It is lucky for him that Michelle is at that event because he is suddenly taken ill. Michelle immediately diagnoses his condition and rushes him to the hospital where she operates on a nearly ruptured appendix.

The moment he wakes up from surgery and talks to Michelle, she enchants Theo. He follows her home to Bowen, Louisiana where she intends to set up a practice in her own clinic. Before she begins, Theo barges into her life and refuses to leave it and Michelle really doesn't want him to go. While the couple is exploring their feelings for each other, thugs target Michelle for murder because she contains information that she is unaware of, but could put them behind bars for a very long time.

Julie Garwood has written a romantic thriller that will definitely please her fans, as well as readers who like mysteries and thrillers. Theo, the brother of the hero of HEARTBREAKER, is an honorable and kind person who comfortably accepts the role of a knight in shining armor for the woman he loves. The heroine is an independent person who captures the hearts of Theo and the audience, placing MERCY on the path to all the bestseller lists.

Summary: FIRST BOOK AND DEFINITELY NOT MY LAST!
Review: I WENT INTO THIS BOOK WITHOUT KNOWING JULIE GARWOOD'S WRITING STYLE. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS BOOK. ONE THING I DIDNT LIKE WAS WHEN SHE USED THE PHRASE "OH BOY". IT WAS USED WAY TOO MUCH. OTHER THAN THAT THE BAD GUYS WERE BAD AND THE GOOD GUYS WERE GOOD.
THERE WERE LOTS OF TWISTS AND TURNS. I COULD HARDLY PUT THE BOOK DOWN. THE BEST TWIST WAS ABOUT DALLAS. I WAS SHOCKED! ENJOY!

Summary: Dallas...
Review: This is a highly entertaining book! I know she has strayed from the genre that made her famous, but I think this book shows her ability to be versatile, In any case, I love her quirky sense of humor!

Summary: Not the same old Julie Garwood
Review: In the past I would have given Julie Garwood an exceptional review, however; I am truely disappointed by he last few books. Ms. Garwood has veered off track of the kind of romance novels that made her famous and quite truly one of the best romance writers of her time. Instead of the historical romance's set in beautiful landscapes with winsome characters I feel that she has chosen a seedier story line which many great authors like herself have done. If you like murder/mystery with a slice of romance then go for it, she has great imagination. However, I feel these new books lack the things that made people come to love her and others like her such as Judith McNaught. I love you ladies but I can't pick these new books up and enjoy every minute of them, so alas I must move on.
