Rating: Summary: Not what I'd hoped for. Review: After the other three Malory novels, this one was really disappointing! Amy had no redeeming qualities that would attract an older man like Warren except for her forward attitude towards sex, and even that would wear thin, I know it annoyed me. Never at any point did I see where Warren fell in love with Amy, it is usually easy to point out in these Lindsey books, but with this one it is pretty unbelievable. And yes, Warren was not the oldest brother, Clinton was, and I don't think this book had any scenes in the Carribean either! Check the synopsis, it needs correcting!
Rating: Summary: Full of Laughter and Love!!! Review: I think I have read all J.L.'s books. This and "Man Of My Dreams" were by far her best!!! I only wish she didn't change the covers. I've read mine so many times they are ragged. I would love to have a set with the original covers as a collection.
Rating: Summary: BORING Review: I couldn't believe what I was reading was from Johanna Lindsey, the other books about the Malory family is far more entertaining than this book, I couldn't even finished it. I love Johanna Lindsey and have been reading her books for well over 13 years now. She's done better.
Rating: Summary: I love Lindsey! Review: I loved how the usual pattern of romances, where the man is chasing the woman, was switched to the woman chasing the man! Amy was witty and hilarious. She knew what she wanted and went after it. Poor Warren never had a chance!
I read this book over and over again, untill my book was ragged and torn. Definitely one of Lindsey's best.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Review: Amy and Warren are one of the best couples Ms. Lindsey has written about. It is a true love story
Rating: Summary: This was too good! Review: I loved this book, it was excellent, especially when James, Tony, & Connie caught Warren & Amy in bed!! I though James was going to lose it!!! It was great. But I though Warren was Georgie's second oldest brother, not her oldest?? I thought that was Clint???? Can someone help me out here, I don't have my eithe Gentle Rogue or this one here with me
Rating: Summary: I love this one! Review: Amy Malory is the most wonderful heroine of Ms. Lindsey's books...she's a thoroughly modern woman in another time. Furthermore, Taishi is great- his sense of humor is perfect for the book!
Rating: Summary: 'The Magic of You' is another of my favourites... Review: It's so hard to choose which of Johanna Lindsey's novels I like best, but this one definately rates waaaay up there, I laughed and laughed, especially when Amy was trying to talk to Warren through the wall separating their cabins. Even though I knew he wasn't too interested, I read the funniest parts out to my husband..every time I read the novel...
Rating: Summary: I love the heroine... Review: Amy is just as impish and witty as her cousin Regina (from Love Only Once). She's such a little minx!! The scene where she and Warren are stranded on the road shows Ms. Lindsey at her best: hot and steamy, with just the right amount of humor
Rating: Summary: And you thought the male Malory's were bad? (Malory# 4) Review: Heaven help the man who catches the eye of a determined and stubborn lady. More's the pity when that woman happens to be the incorrigible, brazen and very confident Amy Malory, who could give her younger uncles and male cousins a run for their money.
Just a couple weeks shy from her eighteenth birthday, the Malory men find themselves on the watch again when Amy makes her debut in the ton. Resembling her older cousin Regina with her black hair and cobalt blue eyes, Amy looks set to dazzle the hearts of the gentlemen of the haute ton, however, little does her family know that she has already set her cap for Warren Anderson, James Malory's American brother-in-law. Despite him being twice her age, Amy is determined to make Warren her husband, believing that she could break through the shell that he has erected around himself ever since he was left heart broken by the woman who ditched him to marry his mortal enemy. And once she makes her feelings and intentions known to him, Warren finds himself on the run from her. Yet try as hard as he did, his will is no match to her determination for Amy does every trick possible to seduce him, much to the horror of her Uncle James and Tony.
Although some people might find Amy's brazenness appalling, I actually found it refreshing and amusing in some ways. It was good to see the tables turned for a change. I liked how confident she is in the belief that she could make Warren smile and laugh once more and heal his wounds. I do think that the romance could have been written better, especially Warren's feelings for Amy. I just felt it wasn't developed properly and left me a little dissatisfied. A bit more background to their first meeting would have helped but I found myself wondering what Warren's thoughts were about Amy the first time they met just after his sister, Georgina, married James.
But all in all, this is an entertaining read helped by the involvement of those reformed rakes James and Anthony. To further add to the entertainment, the way James and Anthony gang up on Warren and make him their verbal punching bag is quite hilarious. Every scene with them is guaranteed to delight you.
