Summary: Readers will relish this rousing Regency romantic romp
Review:

In 1819 Derbyshire, England, Emily Fairchild mourns her mother, who recently died. Still, Emily attends a masquerade ball as a companion to her friend Lady Sophie. She becomes both jealous and upset when she sees Sophie dancing with the notorious rake, Lord Blackmore. However, Sophie's father Lord Randolph Nesfield, Blackmore's parliamentary rival, makes an ugly scene on the dance floor. Through a mixup, Emily ends up in Blackmore's carriage where he proceeds to kiss her.

A few months later, Sophie is exiled to Scotland by her father for trying to elope with someone. Randolph and his sister want to know who the scoundrel is so they can buy him off before his daughter runs off with the unsuitable man. Randolph blackmails Emily into donning a masquerade by threatening to expose the mercy killing of her pain-racked dying mother. Emily pretends to be Lady Emma, a disguise to enable her to wander among the Ton in order to learn who wants to marry Sophie. Blackmore recognizes Emma as the lovely Emily, but cannot obtain the reason for her disguise. Even as the duo falls in love, he still feels he must expose her to the Ton.

THE FORBIDDEN LORD is an interesting Regency romance that will leave readers laughing at the exchange between the lead protagonists and struggling to figure out the intrigue of who is Sophie's love interest. The entertaining story line is a sub-genre fan's delight as the talented Sabrina Jeffries scores with this delightful look into the Regency period.

Summary: What a surprise.... It was EXCELLENT!
Review: A keeper!!!!

The author was successful in writing a wonderful book-- it was all there. An excellent plot, two enjoyable characters and great romance. She was able to weave this story which was intelligent and creative. I feared that the heroine would be just another silly virgin. Instead I found the main character honorable and surprisingly quite an astute actress. The hero in the novel was a dream come true.

I highly recommend this book! All the ingredients were there for a great love story.

Summary: Super book
Review: After reading "The Dangerous Lord" by Sabrina Jeffries, I couldn't wait to read this book, which precedes it. Though the plot is a little contrived, the charm of the two leads and their attraction for each other make it definitely worth reading. Jordan is very sexy and appealing, and his character has enough flaws to provide the necessary frustrations to the reader. When he finally unravels the mystery surrounding Emily and realizes his mistakes, his attack of conscience is very rewarding. Emily is a doll! Her conflicts between her feelings for Jordan and the dangerous situation she finds herself in seem real and compelling. The villain is confronted and defeated is a very satisfying scene. Good secondary characters lend depth and humor to the book. Thanks Ms. Jeffries for a very good read.

Summary: what's in a name?
Review: Emily Fairchild, an innocent rector's daughter, is being forced by blackmail, to masquerade as a debutante in London for evil Lord Nesfield, so that they can find out who was trying to elope with Nesfield's daughter Sophie, one of Emily's best friends. Emily has never told a lie in her life and now she finds herself having to behave like an outragous flirt, by the name of Miss Emma, and tell a web of lies, inorder to find out who did it!

No one in the ton knows that Emma is really Emily a simple rector's daughter except for one man, Jordan Willis, the Earl of Blackmore. Because you see Jordan and Emily have met before and even "quite accidently" shared a stolen kiss. Ever after that first kiss Jordan has never forgotten that sweet innocent girl from Willow Crossing where they had both had mistaken idenity that had ended in the wonderful kiss. But surly this Miss Emma can't possibly be HIS Emily! Impossible! She was too sweet natured and could quote any part of the bible at any moment! But they look the same, smell the same, and even kiss the same! Well almost kiss the same, this Emma is MUCH more brazen than Emily. But....

This story was abolutly amazing! I loved every moment of it. This is actually the second time that I read it because I forgot to write a review and give credit where credit is due! The characters are very well thought out, and you can really feel the two main characters fall in love. Espically Jordan! The moment when he FINALLY admitted to being in love with Emily was one of the best parts of the book! Even the story line was a good one! Mrs. Jeffries did a great job with providing additional characters inorder to keep the mystery of Sophie's secret sutior alive and burning!

I highly recommend this book to everyone! Sabrina Jeffries is a wonderful author! This wasn't my first of her's and most certainly won't be my last!!!!!

Summary: Pleasant regency romance
Review: Emily Fairchilds, a simple rector's daughter, attends the Dryden's Ball and by chance finds herself in a coach with Jordan Willlis, the Earl of Blackmore. They end up in an embrace that neither of them can forget. A few months later Emily is masquerading as Emma, Lord Nesfield's niece at her coming out in London. Jordan recognises her and does not know why she is disguised as someone else and flaunting herself to all the men in London. Little does Jordan know that Lord Nesfield has blackmailed Emily to disguise herself to find out who is trying to woo his daughter, Lady Sophie. Jordan confronts Emily about her deceit and to stop him from unmasking her disguise, she offers herself to him for a night.

This was an enjoyable and easy read, although not exceptional it is well written. I did however, find it annoying that Emily did not choose to tell Jordan why she was being blackmailed and kept the secret to herself, but then again the book would have come to a speedy end if she had done so. This is my first book by the author and I will no doubt check out her other books.

Summary: So THIS is how good a romance can be!
Review: I do not normally read romance novels, but I bought this one because Sabrina Jeffries was a speaker at a writer's conference in Oklahoma I attended, and I was sufficiently impressed with her talk on how to write sensual dialog that I decided to give her work a try. I was not disappointed. Her characters are clearly written and have clear motivations, her dialog is snappy, and her sensual scenes are, well, sensual. This book accomplished its mission -- it swept me up and made me regret each time I had to put it down. I probably would buy more of her books, based on how much I enjoyed this one.

Summary: Best one out of the "Lord" books
Review: I feel that this book is the best one out of the 3 "Lord" books. The plot is believable but somewhat weak. The characters are genuine and likeable. A bit too fairy tale for me but overall an enjoyable read.

Summary: Mistaken Identity
Review: I got the idea for this story from reading about a woman at a masquerade ball in the 19th-century who mistakes a rake for her brother and goes home with the wrong man. I thought it might be fun to play around with the mistaken identity aspect of the story.

Summary: I had just finished Pirate Lord another 5 star book
Review: I had just finished pirate lord another 5 star book, and had to run out and purchase this. It starts off exactly where pirate lord ends which was nice. It was like being able to continue a great book that you didn't want to put down. I loved Jordan and Emily's characters. And I can't wait to read Sinclair's story. I am sure he must be the third lord in the series. Also I am going to have to pick up the rest of Jeffries books. She is such a great writer and I am surprised the I read 2 5 star books from her in a row!
