Summary: Just Brilliant!!!
Review: It's funny how fate steps in isn't it? Until recently I had never picked up a Nora Roberts book. Public Secrets was given to me as a gift, by a good friend, and I am forever gratful.

I have never read a more powerful book in my life. It is the kind of book that you come across once every five years.

Emma is a strong character. You see her grow from a tiny, scared child into a strong, independant woman that any parent would be proud of.

Emma has to overcome a lot. But as they say, what doesn't kill us, only makes us stronger.

This book is fantastic and I suggest that everyone read it.

Nora Roberts is an insperation to aspiring writers like myself.

Summary: a very good read
Review: Nora has done it again. This is a book that I just couldn't put down. The charaters are well thought out. I laughed and cried with Emma as she grew up and became the young woman that she was destined to become. The murder, the entertainment buisness, the witness being a young girl reminds me a great deal of another good book called Targeted for Love. I love anything Nora. Mrs. M. Oregon-U.S.A.

Summary: Good but a Little Long
Review: Nora outdid herself with this story. Public Secrets is more of a family saga than a traditional romantic suspense novel, although there is romance and there is plenty of suspense. It follows the McAvoys, through the eyes of Emma, from the time she is three years old, through childhood, the school years, marriage, and adulthood. All this against the background of the life of rock-and-roll legends. It is fascinating and compelling. I simply couldn't put it down.

Summary: Wow! I couldn't put it down.

Summary: A MUST READ!
Review: Nora Roberts is an excellent author! This book was so intriging. Yes there was a few "not so good parts" and those of you who have read it know what I mean. But this book is a mystery and a romance was just wonderful! Emma is a little hard-headed and it takes her years to finally figure out who this guy is that truly loves her. All is fair in love and war though. As I was saying.. This book is definatly a must read! One of my favorites!

Summary: Rockin'
Review: One of the best books I have read. The murder mystery involved wasn't that intriguing, but the emotions and human involvement that went along with that was!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of her best ever..
Review: Public Secrets, is a truthful approach to how the entertaiment industry works. A great example of "Everything or Everyone is not as they seem". From the beginning of the book, you are on an emotional rollercoaster ride. Truly a great read...

Summary: Not Great. (Sorry!)
Review: There aren't many books by NR that I don't like, as she is so talented and writes on a variety of informed topics, i.e. ballet, horse racing, Irish history, among just a few.
But this one wasn't rich in its story and the characters failed to ring true, especially to their professions. For instance, I never could accept Brian in the role of lead singer for a band, he just didn't fit this profile at all. And I wanted to feel his music, his singing, but that never happened. We readers should have felt the music as if we were in the audience, or at least off stage.
In most of NR's books, the reader truly comes to know the characters, but not so in this one. Brian and the rest were dull, and I really didn't like the way this story unfolded.

Summary: Wow!
Review: This book had two love stories in one. Brian and Bev and Brian's daughter Emma and Michael, the cop. Both love stories were very touching and you will fall in love with both Brian and Michael. Michael is an amazing hero. There is romance, suspense and a few surprises. You won't be able to put it down. One of Robert's best! Don't miss it.

Summary: So much sadness
Review: This book kind of reminded me of River's End. While I did enjoy it, it depressed me to no end. Child abuse, alcohol, drugs, murder, spousal abuse, illness. This book was one anxiety after another. Emma a beautiful child and then woman was mistreated as a child by her mother and as a wife. While I liked her father Brian, he also had a major drinking problem and his friends had their own hangups. Michael, son of the cop investigating the murder of Darren, half-brother to Emma, is perfect for her but it took so long for them to figure it out. Overall a good story. The revelation of one of the murderers took me by surprise, (the other one involved I guessed pretty early on). The ending was very good. If you really get into the storylines when you read; feel what the characters are feeling, expect a little depression to come your way with this one.
