Summary: Worst book she ever wrote!!!
Review: I LOVE Ms. Brockmann's Tall, Dark And Dangerous Navy Seal series in the Silhouette line. I was so looking forward to reading this book but ended up wanting to burn it before I was even finished reading it. The hero, Bobby Taylor, is a wise-cracking Native American in all the prior installments of this series. In this installment we should have gotten a satisfying glimpse of who he really is. Instead I walked away from this book with no idea whether the hero was raised in any type of a family or was a foundling from some orphanage. It was as if the hero had no prior life to becoming a Navy SEAL. There was so little character development that I felt I was reading about a two-dimensional cardboard image, not a real person. If you like this series, run as fast as you can in the other direction from this book. Otherwise be prepared for serious disappointment. I suggest you go back and read one of Ms. Brockmann's superb prior books in this series, like Get Lucky or Every Day Average Jones, or nearly any one of this series BUT this book.

Summary: flawed, but enjoyable
Review: I really enjoyed this book (I'd enjoy it even more if my sister would let me have it back...) but it does have some serious flaws.

First of all, I got tired of the constant circumlocutions for swearing. They were very creative circumlocutions, but it's a waste of words that could have been used to advance the story. My baby brother is a Marine, I've heard it all before. At length. I do not expect a S.E.A.L. to be more circumspect than a Marine. Secondly, the book was too short. Not by a lot, but I felt like the ending did not grow naturally out of what came before. Instead it felt like Ms. Brockmann hit the category romance word limit and said "Damn it I still don't have an *ending*" and tacked together something tolerable. She is capable of much better. The end result was a book that felt like a heavily edited first draft for one of her longer books.

On the up side, Bobby is my favorite kind of romance hero. Tall, dark and handsome. Falls hard for the heroine and does his damndest not to let her know it because he's convinced he's not good enough for her. And of course he's dead wrong about that. It's so much *fun* watching them squirm. Ms. Brockmann handles it so prettily.

Colleen is a merciful change from the typical college age or grad student heroine. She reminds me of a number of idealistic students I knew at college, and she doesn't come off as a hippie-freak or someone who was born in the '50s. Ok, so she doesn't listen to my kind of music, but then again no one else my age does either. The scene where Bobby just watches in shock as she does the "bam I'm dressed" routine really rings true... I've lost track of the hours in my life I've wasted waiting for guys to get ready.

Don't pass this book up just because it's short, but don't expect something as wonderful as Ms. Brockmann's longer novels. It's very clear that she was limited in the kind of story she could tell by the rules of category romance.

Summary: Loved it!
Review: I'm hooked on this series, and have been waiting for months for this book to come out, ever since I read an excerpt on Suzanne Brockmann's website. Sometimes that kind of anticipation can lead to real disappointment when the book finally does come out, but happily that didn't happen. Bobby, the tall, dark, and usually quiet Seal team member has been in love with his best friend's sister, Colleen Skelly, for years. Colleen has also wanted Bobby for years. So when Wes asks Bobby to go to Boston to talk Colleen out of going on a dangerous earthquake relief mission to Tulgaria, Colleen uses this time alone with Bobby without her brother to seduce his best friend. Loved the character of Colleen Skelly and I was very glad that Bobby ended up with a very strong woman. Loved how Colleen and Bobby interacted with each other, and had to laugh out loud several times at his reactions when she would come on to him. Oooooooh boy, did Bobby and Colleen have sparks flying! They are hot. Suzanne Brockmann has a way with drawing characters out and making them feel like real people, that just draws you into their lives. Wes's reaction when he found out about his best friend and his sister was dead on. I did have a couple small problems with the book though. First of all, it just seemed like Bobby took the whole "your my best friend's sister, so I can't get involved with you" thing just a little too far. It went on for over half of the book, and even after they were involved, he still used Wes as an excuse. It was begining to get a little annoying, but their interactions were still great even through all this. The other thing that has been bugging me. Does it seem to anyone else who reads this series that Wes Skelly has grown taller over the past few books? They have never said his exact height until this book, but in the first few they always described him as being short and wiry. And he was definately described as being short compared to ALL other members of the Seal team. Then in the last book he somehow ended up at around the same height as Blue, and now he is 5'11". Now this may not be the jolly green giant or anything, but I am only 5'3" and I was kind of looking forward to Wes's book since he wasn't going to be really tall. I didn't expect him to be as short as I am, but still I am disappointed that he has been made to be tall after all. It seems he only appeared to be short because he was always seen with Bobby, who is extremely tall. This just seemed to be sort of a cop out to me.

Summary: Taylor's Temptation gets an A plus!
Review: Looking for a few hours of fun? You don't need sinfully rich chocolate, smooth whiskey or riveting conversation with an intriguing man. You only need this book! "Taylor's Temptation" is the latest in the Tall, Dark and Dangerous series from Suzanne Brockmann. It tells the story of Chief Petty Officer Bobby Taylor. After an injury during a Navy SEAL mission, Bobby is on R&R and is talked into doing a favor for his best friend and partner since BUD/S training, Wes Skelly. Wes's sister, Colleen is involved in something that could lead her to a foreign country that is overrun with terrorist groups. That is where Bobby comes in. To talk some sense into her. The catch is that he's always considered her his best friend's kid sister - but she's all grown up now and has her eye on Bobby! This book is ENJOYMENT with a capital "E". By page 3 I was grinning like a loon. By page 15 I had a tear in my eye and a warm feeling in my heart as I re-visited some of the other members of Alpha Squad. This book is a great continuation of a powerful series, or can be read and enjoyed on its own. But beware: this book will cause your face to hurt from all the smiling! I've read them all and I believe this one is my absolute favorite! Brava Ms Brockmann! Can't wait for the next installment.

Summary: Taylor's Temptation
Review: Once again, Suzanne Brockmann does a fabulous job bring her SEAL's to life on paper. This is a wonderful addition to the Tall Dark & Dangerous series.

Summary: Not with MY sister!! A great story and addition to TDD!!
Review: Suzanne Brockmann has done it. Again! ... with a new spin, of course!... This time around Ms. Brockmann gives us the "Not with my sister!" spin on romance. US Navy SEAL Chief Petty Officer Robert Taylor is given the dubious duty of playing big brother to his best friend's little sister. Given the orders--"Keep her out of trouble", by fellow SEAL and best friend Wes Skelly, Bobby Taylor does what any good friend would do...he follows the orders.

Colleen Skelly may be Wes' "little" sister, but as Bobby knows all too well.... Wes' "younger" sister will keep him hopping and looking for "HELP" in all the wrong (right?) places. Have I mentioned yet that Bobby is secretly attracted to Colleen (BIG time!!), but trying to do the right thing by his best friend--- who by the way has previously warned Bobby to not even think about his baby sister? Have I mentioned that it's not just one sided--that Colleen also is attracted to Bobby (BIG time!) and that without her brother's presence and watchful eye she's brazen enough to let Bobby know? And for our enjoyment she's not about to be subtle for any length of time. Things are about to change for Bobby. Drastically.

Bobby Taylor has his hands full ... there's Colleen leading him into Temptation (and what a merry chase it is! Poor Bobby can't run or hide fast enough--as if he REALLY wants TOO!). He's trying to follow his instincts and Wes' orders by changing Colleen's mind about wanting to fly overseas and rescue orphaned children in a war ridden country. There's the angry locals (mob of angry men) who dislike Colleen's charity work and resent the new neighborhood center being in their community. And let's not forget Bobby's biggest challenge--overcoming Wes' voice whispering (shouting?) in his ear warring with his own desire and Colleen's attempts to move on to more then just friends. It's a real pleasure to watch this couple come to terms with their attraction and let their hidden desires for one another be known. For fans of Suzanne Brockmann's TDD (Tall, Dark, Dangerous) series you'll be happy to know that some old friends and new faces are included in Bobby's story (the tenth in her Silhouette Intimate Moments series). Enjoy!

Summary: another keeper from suz
Review: This book is lighter and less action-driven than most of the other TDD books, but it's a keeper in its own right. It's a can't-put-down page-turner like all the others. I could completely empathize with both Bobby's torment over being torn between his loyalty to his best friend and his ever-growing desire and Colleen's frustration with Bobby's determination to "do the right thing". The dialogue leaps off the page and into your head, and there were many times I laughed out loud.

If you're already a fan of Suzanne Brockmann, and especially of the TDD series, you won't be disappointed. If you're unfamiliar with the ongoing series of characters from the previous Navy Seal books, prepare to become obsessed with finding the 9 others! And if you're still not convinced about whether or not to order this book, you should know that I'm a new mom of a three month old baby. I spent 5 hours straight snuggled in bed with this book one afternoon (while the baby was with grandma), and I didn't fall asleep once!

Summary: Great book--terrible cover!
Review: This is a great addition to the Tall, Dark and Dangerous series. Just try NOT to look at the cover...yuck! I was pleased that the female had a brain and knew how to use it! A bit of a departure from the intrigue but good just the same. Eagerly waiting the next installment...the story of Wes.

Summary: :)
Review: This is the first Suzanne Brockmann book that I have read. It was okay. Bobby Taylor's best friend Wes asks him to watch after his sister and keep her safe. Wes never counted on Bobby doing more than watching over Collen. Bobby sure as heck never counted on doing anything more than watching over Collen. Collen, on the other hand, had other plans. She has always had a crush on Bobby and she sees this as the perfect opportunity to go after him. Bobby fights it for all he is worth. He knows that she deserves better, plus he is ten years older than her, not to mention that her brother is his best friend. Bobby is only human and Collen is very persistent. They just both better be prepared to deal with the consequences of their actions.

For someone so rough and tough, Bobby sure goes weak in the knees when it comes to Wes and Collen. There was such a big deal about Wes and how he would react, but there was very little story dealing with this. The same with this Morrison character. The reader gets the feeling that something big will happen with him, but it doesn't. Than there is the big trip to another country. The reader is led to believe something big will happen there, but we only read a couple of paragraphs. I thought that a lot of the real story was in what the author didn't say. The story was good. I just thought it could have been better.
