Rating: Summary: Linda Howard - you proved me wrong Review: Coming from a huge fan of Heart of Fire, I thought it was impossible for any book to come remotely close to being as good. Not only was the story The Touch of Fire soul captivating, the characters were just as strong as Ben & Jillian (Heart of Fire).Although I do have to admit, when I first started reading this book - I was a bit bored. I wasn't into the whole western theme, and found it hard to keep reading. Providing that this was a LH novel, I knew I had to keep going. As the story progressed, I found it harder and harder to put the book down. The Touch of Fire has it all; very steamy romanctic & sexy scenes, humor, a great history behind it, a wonderful storyline and let us not forget the characters. It's impossible not to fall in love with it all! If there is one thing I didn't like, it was at the very end. Anyone who has read this book will probably understand what I'm saying - I really wanted to know the name!! All in all, I absolutely adored this book. The Touch of Fire is a definite keeper. You've done it again, Howard! Keep them coming.

Rating: Summary: 1871 Review: I don't particularly like stories about the frontier, specially if they're set in the past, but being Linda Howard who wrote this book, i decided to try it. Man, was I glad I tried it! This story is full of unconditional love, suspense, and most important of all--the journey to discover that we're all granted more than a chance in life. "Annie Parker came to Silver Mesa, Arizona, b/c it was the only place she'd found where folks thought a woman doctor was better then no doctor at all. Her lonely life became harder still on the winter night Rafe McCay broke into her office with a bullet in his side and a bounty hunter at his back. With a gun aimed at her heart, he led her deep into the Arizona moutains, and into a world of danger and passion, for Annie doscovered Rafe not only a wounded man, but a soul betrayed...and Rafe, healed by her skill and the magic of her hands, awakened in Annie a woman's tender longing and hungry desire..."

Rating: Summary: SIMPLY THE BEST Review: i've read most of linda howard's books, and i'll have to say that this was the best yet. i liked the way everything was set..and even though Rafe is determined, so is Annie. And they make it a great book all around. Rafe is tough, patient, and on the run. And all Annie ever wanted was to be a docter that was respected. when they get together love will conquer everything.

Rating: Summary: Very good but not quite as exciting as Linda is capable of. Review: I've read several of Linda's books - "Son of the Morning","Angel Creek", "Lady of the West", etc. She never fails to engage my imagination. Each of her characters is in a struggle with outside and inside forces and she gives them a run for their money. This book is somewhat like the others, but she did rush the story and the characters aren't quite as fleshed out as I believe she would have liked. I think someone at the publishing house rushed her to get this to print.
Rating: Summary: SIMPLY THE BEST Review: It would be hard for me to write a bad review of a Linda Howard book, but fortunately I don't have to worry about that with A Touch of Fire. It is simply the best. It is seldom you come across a good western romance that grabs you from the start and pulls you along for the ride. Great characters. Of course we have the typical Linda Howard strong male figure (always to die for). The love story/scenes sizzle (this is a Linda Howard book!), you get plenty of adventure, and a satisfying end. Who could ask for more? You won't be disappointed.
