Summary: Couldn't stop reading
Review: As a first novel, I found Another Man's Wife to be entertaining and engaging, mostly because I could relate to the characters -- they seemed to be very ordinary people caught up in some unusual, yet interesting circumstances. The book was written with a smooth style, which helped me get big gulps of the story in one sitting. The story had some twists and turns that caught my interest, and if I could have read it through in one sitting, I would have done so.

Summary: Reads like a movie!!!
Review: I loved this book soooo much. I have recommended it to several patrons at my library. I always tell them that this book doesn't have anyone cheating and it reads just like a movie. I was so excited reading this. It has been a long time since I have read anything so refreshing.

Summary: Not Bad for a First Time
Review: I liked this book a lot. I think that for a first book, she did the damn thing! The plot didn't drag and the dialogue was realistic. I like that the characters said and did things that I would do. Shonda Cheeks also managed to create a plot that you don't see everyday, and that was good too. I'm looking forward to her next book.

Summary: Good book...but
Review: This was a great book. I really enjoyed the fact that it wasn't to "streety" However, I do think it took to long for this book to develop. Also, with Miami being one main cities in the book...during New Years, and a couple of men were main characters. Why was there no mentiion of the major football event (Orange Bowl) that's going on during that time frame?? (maybe cuase I am a guy is why I noticed). Keep up the good work!!!!!

Summary: Why'd You Wait So Long
Review: Marriage is supposed to last forever. At least that's what Yani Fenton thought when she walked down the aisle. But one day when her husband Jarrin leaves and never returns Yani realizes that is only a dream.

After five years of celibacy and prayer that Jarrin will return, Yani decides to move on with her life. It's a hard choice but it's what she feels is best for herself and her children. With the assistance of a good friend Yani meets Alex Chance and begins a new life for herself. Alex is everything that she has ever wanted and then some. Not only is she smitten but her children are also. Realizing that love has given her a second chance she decides that she is finally ready to be Another Man's Wife. Everything is going well and and they are living out the fairytale that all women dream of. But life as Yani now knows it is gets really complicated when Jarrin decides to walk back in the picture.

Unsure of what is right or wrong anymore, Yani withdraws from her husband (Alex) to figure out what she should do. She is determined to do the right thing but isn't sure what the right thing is. Should she stay where she is or take a chance on what she was? There are so many choices but not enough time. Hopefully Yani will make the right one.

Shonda Cheekes has crafted a unique novel. It gives you a look at love from a different perspective. Touching and downright funny at times Another Man's Wife shows us that things don't always go as planned.

Summary: Don't Believe the Hype!
Review: I heard so much hype on this book from reviewers and I wanted to read for myself. Unfortunately, I think the reviewers were friends, family and probably the author herself. This book was so elementary-written and predictable. It wasn't nothing short of soap-opera. I was disappointed. I thought it was going to be something different like the great novels, "PROMISES BEYOND JORDAN," or "LUST OF THE FLESH." This book, 'ANOTHER MAN'S WIFE,' was very disappointing. The writer needs to learn to balance dialog with narratives. She had too much dialog and not enough narratives.

Summary: WHATEVER!!!
Review: i read the book but i must admit, i skipped through it. I was faithful in the beginning so i could meet the characters, after that it became predictable, i knew they were going to fall in love, just didn't care how, so I moved on to where the drama would be, that is where I enjoyed it the most and remained faithful again...even though i skipped i didn't miss a beat...it still flowed...this is one of those books that you can pick up and read from anywhere and be enthralled with the story line. if you don't have anything else in your library to read...ms shonda did a good job in the entertaining...

Summary: NOT ALL THAT !!
Review: When I first started reading the book it seemed a little slow, the pace did pick up a lot and than I can say I way hooked. But as the story moved along everything just didn't seem real to me. It felt like a was reading a fairy tale. I don't want to tell the story line here, but the part where Jarrin comes back into Yani's so like give me a break type. It didn't seems as if the author put much thought into how she would introduce him back. Overall I wouldn't recommend this book to someone looking for a good read !!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Read at your own risk
Review: Let's just say I bought this book a week ago... I was siked on a page turner as I thought it would be considering the 5stars that the book received. I could definitely feel the story line that ms cheeks was working with but it seemed as though she gave more information where it wasn't necessary and lil' information where it was. For instance, Jarrin... Come on 15 years is a long time to be married, what happened? That's how I finshed the book with questions.
