Summary: A captivating love story to get caught up in !
Review: I loved this book so much that I didn't want it to end. I wanted to be as confident and as loyal as Lyonene was...and just wanted to declare war on the evil Amicia. What a wonderful book !

Summary: i though it was good
Review: When i first got the book it was a gift from my boyfriend. I thought it was going to be your same old the hero saves the girl form an evil man, but the hero in this book had to save the girl from his jealous acts. I couldnt put the book with down.

Summary: Marvelously endearing!
Review: I just recently became a Jude Deveraux devotee. I can not say enough about her books. I began with the Montgomery annals and am ensconced in her storytelling as any devoted fan could be. I breathlessly await any and all new novels from Jude Deveraux, and have a special weakness for my favorite, 'The Heiress', which had me just as in love with her "Jamie" as her character Hayden in 'Remembrance' described. Don't take my word, read for yourself, start with 'The Black Lyon' and let yourself be drawn in!

Summary: Tall, dark, and handsome...
Review: The Black Lyon is a wonderful story. Whose heart wouldn't beat a little faster for Ranulf?! Sure, there are a couple (tiny) historical inaccuracies, but the beautiful characters and their chemistry make up for it. Buy it!

Summary: An uninspiring romance
Review: This was my first Jude Deveraux romance and I was disappointed with it! It is supposed to be a "love at first sight" romance but it failed in pulling me into the story and actually feeling for the characters. My indifference continued throughout the book, even up to the kidnapping and rescue of Lyonene, and I finished the book with the feeling that my "work" was over. (Well, I had paid for the story..)

Summary: Black Lyon will forever make you a Deveraux fan.
Review: Jude Deveraux's Black Lyon will deliver all the emotion and complete exileration of falling in love, and fighting to keep that love. The story of Ranulf and Lyonene is so breathtakingly sweet it will catapult you to a time of old, where honor and chivalry rule men and melt the hearts of the\ women who love them. I have been hooked since I read this book more than 10 years ago. Jude Deveraux has never dis- appointed me in all these years. Please read the Black Lyon and you will laugh, cry and love Deveraux's style and be eager for more of her wit and intellegence. Happy Reading.

Summary: NICE READ
Review: I read this book about 5yrs ago and although I was frustrated with Ranulf for his insensitive behavior toward Lyonenne, what we must remember is the ERA in which the story is being told.

The man was a Knight a Warrior trained to be cold in his dealings. He had also been cheated on by his first wife, which left him untrusting where women were concerned. You must also take into account the lies that were told against the wife and the fact that women had little to no rights in that time. We were trained to be subservient to our husbands. Taking all of this into consideration this book was a very good read.

I would also like to add that when we write these reviews we need to take into account that these are fiction books they are not real and the writer have a right to express themself in the way that they are best able to. And guess what? apparently it's working because we are buying their books. As to the comment about the other writers like Julie Garwood, and Judith McNaught all of these authors write on the same scale trust me, I have read almost every one of their books and Whitney My Love, Highland Velvet and The Bride are my all time favorites.

Summary: THE BEST BOOK IVE EVER READ
Review: I first read this book when I was only 19 years old! I found the love story to be touching, and never expected such action, mystery, twists and turns from a "romance novel". Deveraux is the ONLY romance novelist I will read. I have since read this book a dozen times over...no kidding!! I believe it is one of the first books Deveraux wrote. You wont be dissapointed. For those of you who read Deveraux for the historical romances and love all the spendor and pagentry, this is her crown jewel.
