Rating: Summary: A story you can read over and over... Review: I have read this book countless times, and I enjoy it every time I pick it up. When I first started reading Jude Deveraux, I started with her "Velvet" series. In book three of that series there is a reference to this novel, so I immediately picked the Black Lyon up to read. The story of Ranulf and Lyonene will draw you in from page one. While Ranulf can be aggressive and downright boorish at times, Deveraux does a wonderful job a relaying the past trials he has gone through to make him the way that he is. An Lyonene is the perfect person to help Ranulf overcome past. A truly remarkable book that is a must read for any fan of Jude Deveraux or any fan historical romance.
Rating: Summary: ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS Review: I was introduced to Jude Deveraux's books five years ago. I started with the Black Lion and fell in love with it. I have since read every one of her books and I can honestly say that she my favorite author. When I start reading I want to be hooked from the first page. When you pick up her books you are most definitely hooked.
Rating: Summary: Umm... hello?? Review: Okay, I am about to buy this book, so I have not actually read it, but, I just wanted to answer the reviewer from New York, you said that the heroine in this book is treated awfully and instead of buying this book, to buy Whitney, My Love by Judith McNaught?!?!?!? How can any heroine in any book ever be treated worse than poor Whitney in that book?? First her "love" beats her with a riding crop, and then he rapes her!!! That book was awful! Is this book like that?? Just wondering before I buy it, please, someone, tell me if this book has stuff like that in it.
Rating: Summary: Boy, Lyonene sure kept Ranulf on his toes!!! Review: If you can, start your Devereux reading with this book. As a ardent fan of the Montgomery family, there are some references to items, places and names that follow in other books. Ranulf and Lyonene are the perfect medievil couple. Their characters are delightful!! You can feel the changes in them as they go through one ordeal after another. When you read about Ranulfs Black Guard, whew!, your heart will beat alot faster! Jude certainly gives new meaning to the phrase tall, dark and handsome. I was kept entertained all the way through!! I have all Jude Devereuxs books and constantly reread one book after the other, always starting at the beginning with the Black Lyon. I highly recommend it!!!
Rating: Summary: HONESTLY, I WAS DISSAPOINTED Review: I didn't like this book. I read the first four chapters but I still haven't finished it. It was so boring and unlike all her novels i've read. I guess I can't judge it until I finish the whole book. I'm going to edit this review until I finish it. But for now, I'm rating it 2 stars. The problem is Lyonene and Ranulf. i can't feel the love between them. I didn't like the way Mrs. Deveraux portrayed Lyonene character--too childish and talks like a child. I can't describe what really let me down, but I sure know if the book is great or not. This book is not one of Jude Deveraux best.
Rating: Summary: BestBookEver Review: I absolutely loved this book! I wish someone could turn this in to a movie! I have read almost all of JD's books but this is one my favorite.

Rating: Summary: Absolutely Wonderful!!!!!!!! Review: This book was so good and so amazing. I read it in 3 days I couldn't put it down. The story draws you in. Its like you could picture Lyonene and her fierce but handsome husband. Its such a page turner! You're compelled to read more you can't help yourself. its beautiful.
Rating: Summary: One of my favorites! Review: This is my very first Jude Deveraux novel, and I loved it! If you are a historical type of romance reader, then this book is for you! The plot is great and full of meaningful passion, keeping you in place and the book in your hands. You'll be gasping, smiling, and wishing you lived in those days. The only thing I didn't like about this book is that I reached the end! :) I definitely recommend this book!
Rating: Summary: I love this book Review: This book is wonderful! A must read. I whish it never end.
