Rating: Summary: Icy HOT Review: I LOVED this book. I'm not a big hockey fan, but there was just enough info about the sport to keep the story going. Luc was HOT. I'm not a big tattoo person but... yowzer. Jane was REAL. I could not put this book down, and finished it in one day.
Rating: Summary: This is NOT a good hockey romance! Review: After reading "Body Check" by Deidre Martin I was psyched to learn there was another book out there with a hockey hero. But "See Jane Score" was really disappointing. The plot is stupid and worse, it's obvious that Rachel Gibson doesn't know anything about hockey OR hockey players. Skip it.
Rating: Summary: wonderful Review: This tale is about Jane, a writer for a single girls column in the Seattle Times who gets thrown into a sports writer position to cover the NHL (make believe) team....And they don't want her there! But she ends up warming their hearts, as well as their team goalies heart...Luc....This is a laugh out loud book, my first Gibson and will not be my last....I love a true good romance book without some killer! It's funny, very sassy which I love....and it's about hockey!! I am a big hockey fan so this was a great read for me!
Rating: Summary: Gibson scores big! Review: Ever since I read Rachel Gibson's It Must Be Love, I'd wanted to get my hands on another one of her books. Granted, I am not a big fan of bodice-ripper - or "bonkbusters," as some might call it - romance novels, but Gibson's writing entertained me. I couldn't put See Jane Score down. This fast-paced, droll and sexy gem kept me turning the pages throughout the wee hours of the night. Though I'm not a hockey fan, I was able to appreciate the sport. Jane's attempts at endearing the Seattle Chinooks - namely one gorgeous Luc Martineau, the star goalie - are full of great comic timing. Though Jane and Luc appear to hate each other, the sexual tension between them is palpable. Jane sees Luc as standoffish, Luc sees Jane as a black and gray wearing prude. However, each protagonist has various surprises in store... See Jane Score practically read itself, and it left me wanting more from Rachel Gibson. I shall give her other bonkbusters a whirl. That goes without saying...
Rating: Summary: LOVED 'SEE JANE SCORE' Review: This book was a lot of fun. I started it late one afternoon and was finished early the next day! I could not put it down!! I won't explain what happens (since I think the other reviews do a pretty good job) but I will say that Jane is like Carry Bradshaw (of Sex and the City) with the 'girlie' articles that she writes. The other sports writters therefore believe Jane has no business writing for the sports section, and let her know it! One of my favorite parts of the book is the relationship between Jane and the 'TEAM'. They give her a nickname of 'Sharky' (I won't tell you how she gets it.... you have to read to find out!) Everytime she goes into the locker room after a game they give her a hard time, until she starts to bring the team good luck, at which point they start to treat her like one of the guys! There are some truly touching moments when she walks into the locker room, and later when they tell her they can give her the real info on 'what guys really think and want'. The relationship between Jane and Luc is a lot of fun as well, and in truth the chemistry is really 'there' with them. I would love if there could be another book like this one- maybe another teammater!?! I, along with Jane, had a great time being the girl in the boys only club!
Rating: Summary: High Score Review: "See Jane Score", was funny, heart felt and a all round amazing read! i loved it's sass, quick whit, and tender touch. it's the kind of story that you can't help but smile at after your done. Rachel Gibson has a way with words and one hell of an amagination that i envy. as a writer i believe she has a true talent, of not just making up a good story, but using her true talent of making you want to read and read and never stop. "See Jane Score" is just one of her many books i urge you read, and heck if you don't like the romance you will love the hockey.
Rating: Summary: Rachel Gibson scores big time! Review: This may be Rachel's best book. Reading this book is like seeing a fine romantic comedy movie - her dialogue and character development just flow better than anything else she's written. See Jane Score will make you laugh out loud and care about the characters at the same time. You'll power-read right through to the end. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: definitely ~ go get this.. Review: This is really cute, a must read, a quick holiday from your every day life...and one of those "well, of course this could really happen...(eyebrows going up and down, big grin)...." yep, definitely something to grab and immerse yourself in :)
Rating: Summary: She Shoots, She Scores!!! Review: This book rocks! The writing is natural, it flows, and is fast paced. The dialogue is witty, funny and sophisticated. The heroine is likable and believable, the hero is sexy as all get out and just enough of a bad boy that watching him fall is exceedingly fun! This book will compel me to take a peek at the next hockey game on TV! Bottom line--buy it!
Rating: Summary: Funny and fresh. Review: I could seriously not put this book down. I had to read all 363 pages as fast as I could and I did. I began the book on a morning and finish it next day by lunch, and that was mostly b/c I had classes in between! This book is fresh and creative... and funny. Jane is as plain as they come. Luc is as hot as they get! He barely glances her way, and she thinks he's a jerk. Yep, they r the perfect couple. Jane is a reporter for the Seattle's Time. She has a column that is pretty much "sex and the city", but one day her luck changes and she is sent to cover the sports hockey section... by traveling with the team. They are very superstiscious and dont like a reporter in their same space b/c that could lead to bad publicity if the reporter found out something they didnt wantes published. They decide she's bad luck, so she gets fired, however after a little scene in the locker room where Jane gaves the team a little taste of what true class is, they start winning and they want Jane back. Luc finally convinces her of taking the job and their relationship begins to evolve. Soon Jane and Luc find their selves attracted to each other and the story gets steamy. Jane has a few secrets and Luc is shocked to find that he could ever like a woman as simple and plain (a "natural" woman) as Jane. On top of that he must deal with a teenage sister that only has him for family, a rocky past and the fear of getting injured (just like every athlete). The story is very sweet, funny and fresh. It's a breath of fresh air among the many romance novels out there. And it is a great companion for anytime anyone has free time to read a good book! I definitely reccomend it!
